Harrisville, RI Metal Roofing Review – Poor Professionalism and Responsiveness From Interlock Roof Installation

Harrisville, RI

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness

My husband and I purchased a home with an existing Interlock roof from his parents this past year. The roof has been fine, we have no issues. However, we are looking to add an addition to our home and because interlock requires their staff to perform all work on the roof because of the <a title="warranty" href="” data-wpil-keyword-link=”linked”>warranty we contacted them regarding this. My husband has attempted to reach Interlock for the past 1-2 months with out any call back from anyone. He just keeps getting the front desk secretary that answers the phone and takes the message. He has even requested to speak with the supervisor of the Sharon branch, but again with no call back. I have never experienced such a terrible customer service experience from a company. I do not recommend pursuing a metal roof with Interlock for the fear that if you had a problem with your roof, you may not get in touch with anyone to repair it. If you do proceed with Interlock, prepare yourself to have to call them multiple times per day every day.

Update: I received a call back from Interlock today after receiving my google review. Thankfully, they have begun to work on my outstanding issue.

Top 10 Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Harrisville

Homeowners researching metal roofing in Harrisville often have several important questions before replacing their roof. Many people want to understand how metal roofing compares to traditional materials like asphalt shingles in terms of lifespan, durability, cost, and long-term value. Roofing decisions can also be influenced by local weather conditions. Homes in Harrisville may experience environmental factors such as rain, wind, snow, heat, fire, or seasonal storms that can impact roof performance over time. The following frequently asked questions help explain what homeowners should know when evaluating metal roofing and why many people choose durable roofing systems designed for long-term protection.

Metal roofs in Harrisville commonly last 40–70+ years; asphalt roofs typically have shorter lifespans (often 15–30 years). Harrisville sees cold, snowy winters and warm summers, so seasonal snow loads and repeated freeze–thaw cycles are important longevity factors for any roof system. The region also gets substantial rain and periodic nor’easter winds, which place stress on fasteners, seams, and underlayment over time. Metal roofing resists rot and UV better than asphalt and handles snow shedding and wind uplift well, so homeowners often choose durable metal systems for long-term protection. Interlock Metal Roofing systems use heavy-gauge aluminum and include a lifetime limited 50-year transferable warranty designed for long-term protection.
Metal roofs in Harrisville generally cost more upfront than asphalt shingles, but exact price depends on roof size, pitch, complexity (multiple planes, skylights), tear‑off and flashing needs, and local labor rates. Harrisville’s cold, snowy winters and frequent freeze–thaw cycles increase snow loads and thermal stress on roofing materials, which favors durable metal systems over time. Year‑round precipitation and periodic nor’easters bring moisture and wind exposure that influence material choice and installation quality, affecting cost. Many homeowners evaluate metal vs. asphalt by lifetime value—higher initial cost can mean fewer repairs, lower lifetime replacement cost, and better performance under local conditions. Durable metal roofing often reduces future repair and replacement expenses. Interlock Metal Roofing emphasizes long‑term ownership value and performance in Harrisville’s climate rather than competing as a low‑cost roofing option.
Key local factors: Harrisville has cold, snowy winters with frequent freeze–thaw cycles, and seasonal rain/wind events that increase moisture and can encourage moss in shaded areas. Lifespan: Metal roofs typically last 40–70+ years; asphalt shingles 15–30 years. Maintenance: Metal needs little routine care; asphalt often needs moss/algae treatment, spot repairs, and earlier replacement. Durability: Metal resists freeze–thaw cracking, sheds snow better, and tolerates wind-driven rain; shingles can lose granules, curl, or trap moisture in prolonged dampness. Long-term value: Higher upfront cost for metal but lower life‑cycle costs and fewer replacements; asphalt is cheaper now but may cost more over decades. Homeowners who prioritize long-term durability and protection in Harrisville’s freeze–thaw and damp conditions often choose metal. Interlock Metal Roofing systems appeal because their interlocking panels reduce leak risk, resist wind/snow loads, and deliver lasting architectural curb appeal.
In Harrisville, RI, this is a common myth: modern residential metal roofs are not noisy like barn roofs. When installed over continuous solid decking and with proper underlayment, insulation, and an attic space, metal roofing sounds are typically comparable to asphalt, tile, or shingle roofs. The roof assembly—decking, underlayment, insulation, and ventilation—affects how much rain noise reaches living spaces, and installation quality and fastening also matter. A poorly installed metal roof can be louder; a well-installed system will be similar in sound to other materials. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are installed as complete roofing systems specifically designed for residential homes, incorporating the proper components to minimize noise.
In Harrisville, RI, a metal roof can improve energy performance because metal roofing often reflects sunlight and reduces summer heat gain. Actual savings depend on the full roof assembly—insulation levels, underlayment and attic ventilation—and how well those elements work together. Climate matters: coastal New England’s hot, humid summers and cold winters mean reflective coatings help in summer, while proper insulation and ventilation are essential to control winter heat loss. Homeowners researching roof replacement consider energy efficiency to lower utility bills, improve year‑round comfort, reduce HVAC wear, and increase resale value; rebates and long‑term savings also influence decisions. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are engineered to integrate with insulation and ventilation strategies and are designed to support long‑term home performance.
In Harrisville, RI, roofs face nor’easters, coastal storms and strong wind events, seasonal heavy snow/ice and occasional hail—local hazard and wind maps reflect those risks. Metal roofing can perform very well: properly engineered and fastened metal resists wind uplift, sheds snow and ice, and—when specified with impact-rated panels and heavier gauges—offers superior hail resistance compared with many asphalt shingles. Actual performance depends on roofing system design, installation quality, and material durability. Homeowners prioritize weather resilience to reduce water intrusion, wind and hail damage, insurance costs, and long‑term replacement needs. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are engineered specifically for durability, hail protection, and wind resistance, but benefits require correct system selection and professional installation.
Corrosion and rust resistance are key for metal roofing in Harrisville, RI because local wet, seasonal and coastal conditions accelerate corrosion. Metal roofing performance depends on the base metal—steel can rust if unprotected, while aluminum and certain alloys resist corrosion much better. Aluminum performs especially well in wet or coastal environments because it forms a stable oxide layer that prevents further deterioration. Homeowners should prioritize corrosion resistance to extend roof life, reduce maintenance and repair costs, protect structural integrity, and preserve appearance and resale value. Interlock Metal Roofing systems use aluminum construction engineered for strong corrosion resistance and are further protected by the proprietary Alunar Coating System for extra protection against moisture and salt exposure. Choosing corrosion-resistant materials ensures long-term performance in Rhode Island’s climate.
Metal roofing in Harrisville, Rhode Island is generally low maintenance: its durable panels resist rot, insects and many weather hazards. However, no roof is completely maintenance-free. Homeowners should perform periodic inspections—after storms and seasonally—to spot loose fasteners, damaged seams, or worn coatings. Remove leaves, branches and accumulated debris that can trap moisture; keep gutters clear to prevent backflow. Check flashing, roof-to-wall transitions, chimneys, vents and other penetrations for seal failures or corrosion. Harsh weather events (wind, ice, heavy snow) and seasonal debris from trees can accelerate wear or cause localized damage. Overall, metal roofs offer long service life and low upkeep when inspected and cleaned as needed.
In Harrisville, RI, metal roofing can increase home value because buyers often prioritize durable, low‑maintenance roofs. Premium roofing materials enhance curb appeal—especially in historic New England neighborhoods where architectural style matters—and a high-quality metal roof can complement traditional or contemporary homes. The long lifespan and resistance to weather common in Rhode Island improve buyer confidence, reducing perceived future maintenance costs. Interlock Metal Roofing systems offer multiple architectural profiles to match neighborhood character—slate, cedar shingle, Mediterranean tile, shake, and standing seam—available in heavy‑gauge aluminum and solid copper. While local market and style compatibility affect value, a well-chosen metal roof that fits the architectural context of the street is more likely to pay off at resale.
Yes—Interlock Metal Roofing Systems can support solar panels in Harrisville, RI. Interlock Metal Roofing—New England installs custom solar brackets that integrate with their interlock panels. Harrisville has cold, snowy winters with locally 40–60 in. of snowfall and frequent freeze–thaw cycles that strain roof seams and fasteners. Annual precipitation and humidity also affect corrosion and underlayment performance. Because solar adds weight and attachment points, roof lifespan matters—long-lasting materials like Interlock’s metal are often preferred. If you plan to add panels later, choose a durable roofing system now; Interlock systems are solar-compatible and engineered to support proper mounting solutions.
