Energy Efficiency Federal Tax Credits
The program for energy-efficient roofing materials administered by the EPA ended at the end of 2022. This shift reflects advancements in commercial building codes and a move towards regional specifications for residential roofing, allowing for tailored requirements based on local climate and environmental needs. While the EPA continues to label other consumer goods, the roofing products designation will cease, acknowledging the evolution in building standards and the need for region-specific roofing solutions.
Homeowners can receive a tax credit of 10% of the cost, up to $500, for Interlock Metal Roofing Systems installed on their principal residence.
