Following the installation of our new Interlock Roof (Slate Style in Green Colour) in late summer 2010, we are pleased to report that we are completely satisfied with the look and appeal of the new roof in addition and more notably with the quality of the product (Energy Star Rating) and installation. The Interlock installers were quite competent and meticulous in their work and procedures as well as being quite forthcoming and courteous in providing answers to our questions.

There was only one minor issue following the installation and that was resolved on a very timely basis and explains our complete satisfaction with this new Interlock Roofing System on our summer home originally built in 1940 on the 1000 Islands Parkway between Gananoque and Lansdowne. We are also grateful to Barry Brinson for arranging to have delivered to us a few more green Interlock tiles so that we can adapt and install them to the tops of the birdhouses found on the property!

Dear Interlock: We first saw this house just over a year ago and fell in love with it. At the time, we realized the original roof, first-growth cedar shakes, was due for replacement, so we went hunting for some suitable material. When we saw the Interlock roof, we sensed it had what was necessary to protect the house and complement its character. Once we saw the results, we knew we had chosen well. Once we started staying in the house, we noticed when it rained; there was an extra volume of water coming down the valleys where two main roofs came together. It was a minor flaw in the original design but required a little ingenuity to remedy. Your installer, Antonio, managed to drop by just before Christmas to fix another minor problem and, fortunately, a solution for the valley deluge. He managed to do just that a few days after Christmas on his way back up Island. His remedy is working. I guess time will tell if it lasts as long as the roof. Either way, we commend his efforts and thank you all for a well-done job.

I’ve had a few days to get used to the look of the new roof, and I can’t believe how good it looks, nothing like the metal roofs of old. It looks like slate, exactly as you said it would.

Arthur (the roofer) was a real pleasure, polite, friendly and very hard working. He took great efforts to clean up any debris at the end of each day. He swept the lawn with a magnet to pick up any dropped nails and screws. He even painted any scratched paint work.

I have the satisfaction of knowing that the house will never need re-roofing, which means no more old roofing for the city dump, and that the new roof is made from recycled materials I couldn’t be more pleased with the new roof and I would recommend it to everybody.

Once we checked out asphalt roofing we knew that we wanted something other than that, but what? Years ago asphalt roofing was it; nowadays the price is much higher and add labour costs to it… also the material is no longer the same and so is the guarantee.
