While it does cost more to put on the roof, I think the payback more than covers the extra price

5/5

I had an Interlock roof put on several years ago and I am not sure I agree with the statement “more expensive, sure”.  While it does cost more to put on the roof, I think the payback more than covers the extra price.

I am sitting in my attic office, a place that got cold even with the heat this time of year, it is warm now.  It stays cooler in the summer as well which saves on cooling costs.

The sales person told me that it would be the case but I really didn’t believe it.  I would buy this roof again in a heartbeat.

It was time to replace our leaky roof after an excessive amount of snow fall the previous winter

5/5

It was time to replace our leaky roof after an excessive amount of snow fall the previous winter. We initially did not want a metal roof until we found Interlock.

We have had so many compliments on our new roof and are extremely pleased with the way it looks.

The installers were on time, fast, efficient and knowledgeable. They left our yard in the same condition it was before they started. I am impressed with their work ethic and professionalism. The peace of mind that Interlock roof provides, not having to worry about a leaky roof or damage, is worth it.

We are very happy with the product.

We had an Interlock roof put on 4 years ago, and it still looks brand new. We had concerns about hearing the rain on the roof. No problem! We’ve had two good hailstorms and no dents. We’ve had so many people just stop by and ask about the roof. It looks very classy!! We are very satisfied!!

All Interlock personnel we dealt with were personable, courteous and professional

5/5

All Interlock personnel we dealt with were personable, courteous and professional. The installer (whose name I don’t recall) was a very able, diligent and hard worker. When he had helpers onsite – primarily for stripping the old shake and asphalt roof materials – they also worked well and without loud music or coarse language. Also, our contact at Interlock’s office (Shawna) was courteous and helpful – even to lending us the heavy material display panel from the showroom to take home for a weekend AND helping me load it in my car!

We’ve had positive comments from neighbors and from passers-by when we’re outside. One of the more interesting was, “We loved the look of your old cedar shake roof and were afraid what you might be replacing it with, but it looks great – good choice!

We must commend the 3-4 roofers that have been working right through the rainstorm trying to get our roof complete

5/5

We are getting our roof done right now and have also installed snow guards as well.

Our experience with BC’s Best Roof / Interlock has been thus far excellent. Everyone from the sales crew, service manager, removal crew, and roof installers have been professional.

We must commend the 3-4 roofers that have been working right through the rainstorm trying to get our roof complete. Plus they all cleanup at the end of each day that they work.

Another day or two and they should be finished and it will be time for us to pay the bill!

No more ice damming

5/5

25 years of saving money in a C.D. has well paid off for me.  I endeavored to save money for a high quality roof; not wanting to pay for a substandard roofing system. I no longer wanted to have asphalt shingles.  Interlock Roofing is the Crème de La of all roofing.

One day in June of 2014 I took one of my long walks.  I came to a perfect standstill gazing up at the roof of a home I had often passed.  It had a new hairdo. This elegant and beautiful roof (dark gray slate) certainly wasn’t asphalt shingles.  What could it be?  I decided to find out and knocked on the side door.  I said to the man who came to the door “where did you ever get such beautiful roofing?”  He then explained that he was thrilled with his recent purchase of Interlock Roofing that was installed in early spring.  He immediately told me that it was a “lifetime” roof that was not only very energy efficient but was constructed as a high impact roof which could better handle nasty storms.  He explained to me that I could get rid of my roofing heat tapes because there would be no more ice damming that I would have to be concerned about.  Then he added with a twinkle in his eye that I could watch my neighbors struggle with raking snow off their roof and know that I would never have to stand out in the cold doing this task.  With great pride he told me that Interlock Roofing would look as great as it does today as it would many years down the road because the color never fades.

I said, “who do I contact to get this kind of roof?”  He gave me “Greg Weber’s telephone number.  He also told me of another home in the area that has had the roof on for 7 years that I could go look at.  I got in my car the next day and went over to that home and spoke to the owner and asked him if he was satisfied with the roof.  He answered, “I’m 100% plus satisfied!”  WOW!  That’s as good as it gets.

The rest is history because I made an appointment to see Greg Weber.  This week of August 18-20 installers came and installed my new roof on both the house and the garage.  These men were by far the best men you could get.  Would you like to know why?  It’s because of their work ethics.  They were polite, accommodating, and extremely hard working.  It was evident that they certainly knew what they were doing every step of the way.  When they were finished the end product of their job was both elegant and beautiful!

I hope people will take time to consider getting Interlock Roofing, which in my opinion is the best choice they could make if they desire to have a quality roof.  Also, I appreciate buying from a company that takes so much pride in what they are doing. Interlock Roofing Speaks for itself when you see it.

Four factors need to be considered

5/5

We had replaced one roof in the time we had owned our home, and now it was time for the second replacement. I began to wonder if there were any alternatives to old asphalt technology. Also, we had two concerns about asphalt, the first is that it is not clean from an environmental standpoint and second, asphalt is oil based which means its cost is linked with the price of oil. I noticed that many commercial buildings had metal roofs. My wife and I usually do a lot of deep research for major home projects. We began looking into the possibility of replacing the current roof with metal. Our research indicated that there were residential metal roofs available in various metals and styles. Four factors need to be considered.

  1. Type of metal. We chose aluminum over steel. It’s lighter and less susceptible to corrosion although corrosion is not a major factor due to the various coatings and treatments applied to both metals during the manufacturing process.
  2. Structural assembly. We liked the Interlock method of attaching the panels to each other and the roof base. When complete the system is structurally sound and waterproof.
  3. Installation process. Installing a metal roof requires experience. Installation is different from that of an asphalt roof. During our research, we had a hard time locating installers that had experience installing residential metal roofs. This was another reason that we chose Interlock. They are associated with installation crews who have the knowledge and experience required for working with the Interlock product.
  4. The only other factor to consider is the style and color, and there are many to choose from.

Installation was uneventful, the crew was courteous and they explained exactly what they were doing and answered any questions that we had. The roof looks beautiful and we have had many compliments on it since it was installed two weeks ago. We are very happy that we chose Interlock for this project and highly recommend them.

Top 10 Roofing FAQs for Boston, MA Homeowners

Boston sees hot, humid summers, freezing, snowy winters, and coastal wind and salt air. That means your roof needs to be corrosion-resistant, insulated, and able to withstand wind and ice loads. Interlock Metal Roofing, made from high-grade aluminum, is engineered for this climate. Unlike steel, it won’t rust. Unlike asphalt, it won’t crack or curl. And it sheds snow naturally—reducing the risk of ice dams.

Asphalt shingles are common in Boston, but they often need to be replaced every 12–20 years due to New England’s weather. They can deteriorate from snow, sun, and algae growth. Interlock aluminum shingles last 50+ years, come with a Lifetime Limited Warranty, and won’t absorb moisture, crack, or fade like asphalt.

Yes. While steel is strong, it’s prone to rust, especially in coastal neighborhoods like South Boston, Dorchester, and Winthrop. Aluminum doesn’t rust—ever. Interlock uses a marine-grade aluminum alloy with a protective Alunar finish that stands up to salty air and acidic rain.

Composite slate is lighter and more affordable than natural slate but may fade or become brittle over time. Interlock Slate Shingles offer the look of real slate with superior weather resistance, and the aluminum core resists cracking and UV damage. It also weighs significantly less, making it a better fit for older Boston homes.

Absolutely. Interlock offers classic profiles like Slate, Shake, and Tile in colors that complement historic architecture in neighborhoods like Beacon Hill, Back Bay, and Cambridge. And because it’s low-profile and elegant, it preserves curb appeal while dramatically increasing performance.

Rubber roofing (EPDM or TPO) is typically used on flat or low-slope roofs—like those on multi-family row homes or small additions. It’s not ideal for pitched residential roofs. While affordable, rubber can shrink, crack, and attract debris over time. Interlock’s pitched roofing systems are better for homes needing aesthetic value + longevity.

Yes. Interlock roofs are coated with heat-reflective Alunar Coating System that help reduce heat absorption—keeping your home cooler in summer. This is especially useful for triple-deckers and brownstones with full-sun exposure on the roof. Helps lower attic temps = lower AC bills.

With its 4-way interlocking design, snow and ice stay out. The smooth metal surface also sheds snow naturally, preventing heavy buildup and reducing the chance of ice dams. No need for dangerous rooftop snow removal every winter.

Yes. Boston’s nor’easters bring wind gusts that can rip up shingles and flashings. Interlock systems are rated for high-wind performance, thanks to their interlocking panels and secure fastening system. Your roof stays in place—even when the weather doesn’t.

Absolutely. While the upfront cost is higher than asphalt, Interlock’s lifetime warranty, low-maintenance, and lasting curb appeal make it a smarter choice for Boston homeowners who don’t want to re-roof every 10–15 years. You get peace of mind—and one less project to think about.

If you live in Boston, you need a roof that handles snow, salt, heat, and wind without falling apart. Interlock Aluminum Roofing checks every box: it’s rust-proof, energy-efficient, wind-rated, and architecturally beautiful. It’s a roof you install once—and never think about again.

It is quiet and looks great!

We had an Interlock roof installed 18 months ago and love it.

It is quiet, looks great, easy to remove snow (low pitch) and no granules from roof on patio.

We chose Interlock to install a much needed new roof on our 200-year-old farmhouse

Warner, New Hampshire

5/5

We chose Interlock to install a much needed new roof on our 200-year-old farmhouse in Warner, New Hampshire which serves as our year-round vacation getaway. From the moment David showed up to meet with us through the final completion of the project a few weeks ago, we knew that we had made the right decision and that our project was in good hands. We never once felt pressured even though we took longer than expected to complete some preliminary repairs to a porch roof before the project could begin. When we did finally call to say that we had completed our work and were ready to go, they had a work crew on site in less than a week! More amazing is that they completed their work of stripping the old asphalt, installing a plywood deck, and re-roofing a large old house where nothing is truly square in five days and, other than the evidence of a brand new gray slate roof on our house, one would never know that anyone had even been there. The crew left our property cleaner than it was before they arrived. They even cleaned up a pile of roofing debris we had left behind following our re-roofing project. Throughout the project, David and Jennifer, in the office, were always available to answer our questions. From selecting the right roof to arranging to finance, to completing the project in a timely fashion, we could not be happier with the total interlock experience. We are highly satisfied with the result and are already looking forward to having Interlock install a new roof on our adjoining barn in the near future.
