A return on our investment when we eventually sell our home

5/5

Re: Roofing installation on House and detached Garage.

We became interested in your product when we saw a neighbour’s, (Len Sylvester) house roof during our investigation into a roof replacement. Although the pricing was expensive, the look, warranty, neighbourhood references and benefits of an Interlock roof, persuaded us to contract with you.

The installation of an aluminum black slate roof on our house and garage is just being completed today.

We are very satisfied with the result. It looks magnificent, and our neighbours are already commenting on the beautiful appearance.

Moses and Fred were sent as our installation team, and we are very happy that they were assigned to our job site. They are both extremely hard working. They put in long hours during a very hot humid summer period. Their work was professional, and they were friendly to us and considerate of our neighbours. Moses’ experience and attention to detail has produced an excellent result on a complex roof structure.

We look forward to many years of satisfaction, and a return on our investment when we eventually sell our home.

Many Thanks,
Yours sincerely

We wholeheartedly recommend the Interlock Roofing System and the professional installation crew that worked on our summer home in the 1000 Islands

5/5

Dear sirs,

Following the installation of our new Interlock Roof (Slate Style in Green Colour) in late summer 2010, we are pleased to report that we are completely satisfied with the look and appeal of the new roof in addition and more notably with the quality of the product (Energy Star Rating) and installation. The Interlock installers were quite competent and meticulous in their work and procedures as well as being quite forthcoming and courteous in providing answers to our questions.

There was only one minor issue following the installation and that was resolved on a very timely basis and explains our complete satisfaction with this new Interlock Roofing System on our summer home originally built in 1940 on the 1000 Islands Parkway between Gananoque and Lansdowne. We are also grateful to Barry Brinson for arranging to have delivered to us a few more green Interlock tiles so that we can adapt and install them to the tops of the birdhouses found on the property!

Based on this very positive experience and outcome, we wholeheartedly recommend the Interlock Roofing system/product and the professional installation crew that worked on our summer home in the 1000 Islands.

With our many thanks and appreciation,

I could not have had a better team of roofers, or a better product

5/5

Dear Sir:

I had a new Interlock roof installed a few weeks ago and would like to express my appreciation for work well done.

Your salesman, Mr. Barry Brinson, who was my first contact with Interlock, was impressive in his knowledge and experience. He gave me the confidence to deal with your establishment. He explained all roofing options and did not put any pressure on me to make an immediate decision.

Your roofing team under Mr. John Caverley were quietly efficient and proceeded to do the job in a professional manner that gave me confidence in the quality of their workmanship. They left my property spotless after their clean-up. Please thank them all for me.

My roof looks beautiful. It surpassed my expectations in terms of looks and I know that its durability will not disappoint. Mr. Brinson did not mention one advantage to your roof which both my wife and I enjoy: we love to hear the sound of the rain softly tapping on the roof.

To summarize, I am glad I chose Interlock to do my roof. I could not have had a better team of roofers, or a better product. Please express my appreciation to everyone involved for a job well done! Thank you.

Yours truly,

I would like to thank you very much for such a beautiful roof.

It has completely changed the outlook of our home. The copper colour is gorgeous and would not hesitate to do the same roof again if we were ever to rebuild again. The crew were very neat, clean and efficient.

Bolton Metal Roofing Review | March 17, 2025 – Expert Service by Ken

Bolton, Ontario, is a place where history holds strong, where the Humber River weaves through a community that values craftsmanship, longevity, and resilience. It’s a town that started as a milling settlement in the early 1800s and has grown into the largest urban center in Caledon, known for its rolling landscapes, strong local businesses, and a deep sense of pride in what lasts.

Ed understands this well. His home, covered with an Interlock Metal Roofing System, is built for the long haul. And when it needed attention, Ken showed up early, got the job done, and made sure everything was right.

A roof is more than just shingles and nails—it’s protection, peace of mind, and a commitment to never dealing with another re-roofing project again. With a lifetime warranty, four-way interlocking strength, high-wind resistance, and solar compatibility, Ed’s roof doesn’t just sit there; it works. Through Bolton’s icy winters, humid summers, and everything in between, it holds up—just like the people here.

Bolton’s past and future are woven together in the homes that line its streets, in the businesses that keep it thriving, and in the smart choices homeowners make. Ed made one of those choices—because a great roof isn’t just about today. It’s about the next decade, and the one after that.

Top 10 FAQs About Metal Roofing in Bolton, Ontario – Why Interlock is the Best Choice

Bolton winters can be tough, with heavy snowfalls and freezing temperatures. Unlike asphalt shingles, which can crack and warp under freezing conditions, Interlock Metal Roofing is designed to withstand extreme cold without expanding, contracting, or becoming brittle. The unique 4-way interlocking system also prevents snow and ice buildup, reducing the risk of ice dams that can damage your home.

No, Interlock Metal Roofing will not rust because it’s made from heavy-gauge aluminum, which is naturally rust-resistant. In contrast, steel roofing is prone to rust and corrosion, especially in areas with high humidity and frequent freeze-thaw cycles like Bolton. Even steel roofs with coatings will eventually corrode over time, making aluminum the smarter choice for long-term durability.

A properly installed Interlock Metal Roofing System is just as quiet—if not quieter—than asphalt or rubber roofing. The roof is installed over a solid roof deck with high-quality underlayment, which absorbs sound. Unlike traditional metal roofs that create a “pinging” effect, Interlock’s textured profiles help disperse sound, making rain and hail noise a non-issue.

Yes! Interlock Metal Roofing is engineered for high-wind resistance, making it the best choice for homes in Bolton, where wind gusts can exceed 90 km/h in severe storms. Thanks to the 4-way interlocking system, each shingle is securely locked into place—unlike asphalt shingles, which can lift, curl, or blow away after a strong storm.

While cement tiles can last a long time, they are heavy, prone to cracking in freezing temperatures, and require additional roof reinforcement. Interlock Metal Roofing gives you the classic look of slate or tile without the weight, meaning no extra structural support is needed. Plus, Bolton’s freeze-thaw cycles can cause cement tiles to crack—but aluminum metal roofing is immune to this issue.

Absolutely. Unlike asphalt and rubber roofing, which absorb heat, Interlock Metal Roofs reflect solar radiation, keeping your home cooler in the summer. Bolton homeowners experience hot, humid summers, and with Interlock’s energy-efficient properties, you can reduce cooling costs by up to 25%.

Rubber roofing is marketed as a long-lasting option, but it can fade, shrink, and develop cracks over time, especially under Bolton’s UV exposure and temperature fluctuations. Interlock Metal Roofing, on the other hand, won’t degrade, crack, or warp—giving you a true lifetime roofing solution.

Almost none. Unlike asphalt roofs, which require regular shingle replacements, or wood shake roofs that need treatments and repairs, an Interlock Metal Roof requires minimal upkeep. Simply clearing debris from gutters is all that’s needed—no costly maintenance or frequent re-roofing.

Yes! Many Bolton homeowners are making the switch to solar energy, and Interlock Metal Roofing is 100% solar-compatible. Unlike asphalt or steel roofing, which may need modifications for solar panel installation, Interlock’s metal shingles allow for easy mounting of solar brackets without compromising the roof’s integrity.

A traditional asphalt roof in Bolton lasts 10-15 years at best due to extreme weather conditions. Interlock Metal Roofing comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty, meaning you install it once and never worry about re-roofing again. Over the years, asphalt shingles degrade, requiring multiple costly replacements, whereas an Interlock Roof stays strong for life.

Why Bolton Homeowners Choose Interlock Metal Roofing

Bolton homeowners know that quality matters. Whether it’s protecting your home from winter storms, reducing cooling costs in the summer, or ensuring your roof won’t crack, curl, or blow away, Interlock Metal Roofing is built to withstand Ontario’s toughest weather conditions.

If you’re ready to make the switch to a roof that lasts a lifetime, contact us today and discover why Bolton homeowners trust Interlock Metal Roofing for the ultimate in durability, energy efficiency, and curb appeal.

It looks magnificent, and our neighbours are already commenting on the beautiful appearance

5/5

We are the talk of our neighbourhood. Our house now has the best looking roof on our street and we are proud of it.

Chris and Paul who worked on the roof were extremely efficient, knowledgeable, and professional. What a great representation of your company standards. They kept us informed of their progress, worked endlessly and constantly cleaned up after themselves. Job well done!!!Many of our neighbours came out to watch and were impressed with the workmanship and style of the Interlock roof.

Hopefully other home owners will realize the benefits of having this type of roofing system.

Our biggest concern was the noise level when it was raining. Our concern was put to ease the other night because we had a rain storm and we could barely hear the rain drops on the roof.

We now can sleep peacefully knowing that we now have a strong quiet maintenance-free roof.

Thank you Interlock!

One of the major selling factors of our house was our beautiful black Interlock shingle style roof with the non-prorated transferable warranty

5/5

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much we liked the look of our black Interlock shingle roof, that was installed in 2002. Our home was in a beautiful country estate subdivision in Belwood a small community located north of Guelph. We found that the gentlemen who installed the roof to be very professional and at the end of the day they would take it upon themselves to ensure the rounds of the property were clear of any debris.

This house was our dream home, we spent years landscaping and doing home renovations, having this roof finished the look with added curb appeal. We had many neighbors and friends inquire through us about our roof, and we were happy to give information regarding the roof.

Unfortunately, my husband was transferred and we put our house on the market. One of the major selling factors of our house was our beautiful black Interlock shingle style roof with the non-prorated transferable warranty. The family that purchased our home are in love with the style of the Interlock shingles which add character, junction, and such curb appeal.

We are now settled in our new home and when the roof needs to be replaced, we will be making a phone call to have another Interlock roof installed.

We will be seeing you in the future.

Sincerely,

New roof installed by Interlock and very pleased with the professionalism and aesthetics

5/5

I have a new roof installed by Interlock and very pleased with the professionalism and aesthetics. My builder roof lasted 12 years and I needed something more durable. I spent months talking to steel roof installers and the thing that bothered me most, is whether the company will be around long enough to support warranty issues. The coatings were also prone to fading and I was looking for a worry free product. My research led me to select aluminum roofing with PVDF coating for durability and resistance to Color fade. The lifetime transferable warranty and fact that Interlock has been in business for over 40 years led me to contact the company. Interlock staff are courteous and Bruce gave a very fair price with a no pressure quote. My roof has some features that could affect aesthetics and Bruce arranged for special considerations at those locations. The installers were very courteous, and took the time necessary to do a great installation. They respected my views as a home owner and provided regular updates on progress and solutions. The installers cleaned up debris at the end of each day and coordinated with my neighbours to minimize impact from the roofing job. When rain was in the forecast the crew worked tirelessly to complete roofing sections that would be vulnerable to rainfall. Overall I am pleased with everyone’s efforts and now hope the roof will be durable for many years.

The concept of permanent roofing system with a lifetime transferable warranty, will give us peace of mind, as well as increase the value of our property

5/5

My Wife and I are very pleased with our new aluminum roof it has been almost four months since Interlock crew in so efficient and timely manner installed it. Some years ago after my asphalt shingles roof No.3, I promised myself never again with the asphalt crap, I HATE IT (Heavy, Flammable, Granules- shedding-eaves-clogging, gone with the wind, etc, etc.).

The concept of permanent roofing system with a lifetime transferable warranty, will give us peace of mind, as well as increase the value of our property.

After some hesitation regarding the cost, looking in retrospect, I believe it -was the right decision to make. The only thing left to do now is to sit, and relax under a maintenance free Interlock roof.

Finally, hats off to the installation crew, very helpful in answering technical question, posed to them on the precautions they took to prevent damage to property, on how clean they daily left the surroundings.

Thank you, Sirs, Sincerely,

My new Interlock roof has satisfied me beyond all expectation

5/5

It has now been two years since the installation of metal interlocking shingles on the roof of my residence in Ottawa. As I indicated to the salesman at the time, if after two years I was totally satisfied with the installation and performance of my new roof I would take the time to extol the virtues of the Interlock system.

To date, I have indeed been most impressed with the performance of my roof prior to installation of the Interlock system, I was required to change the asphalt shingles on my roof every eight to ten years. Because I have a low slope roof on my home, I was not immune from the occasional leak between re-shingling jobs. Re-shingling a roof is a major financial investment, and obviously more so when considering an upgrade from the standard asphalt shingles used by the construction industry, Therefore, prior to my decision to accept the Interlock roof system, I had a number of concerns such as fading, longevity, performance, workmanship, appearance, etc. I can categorically state that, to date, initial apprehensions have not materialized. My new Interlock roof has satisfied me beyond all expectation. Besides the leak-free performance of my new root, the next greatest benefit is the appearance of the Interlock shingles versus the conventional asphalt shingles. Homes with the Interlock systems have a much greater aesthetic appearance as attested to by friends, neighbours and strangers passing through the area. This, in addition to the lifetime warranty (50 years on the resale of the home), greatly enhances the marketability of the home on re-sale. To say I am pleased as punch with my new roofing system is an understatement.

I have no objection to Interlock Industries using my endorsement of their product. I have not, nor will I receive any financial or other benefits for this endorsement. Satisfaction and peace of mind (especially when it rains) are my rewards. Thank-you Interlock Industries for a job well done.

Thank you,

We look forward to a roof that will continue to look good over time and provide increased protection and insulation from the elements

Scarborough's Best-Kept Secret? It's On the Roof.

You can tell a lot about a town by its rooftops.

In Scarborough, Ontario—a place that straddles city energy and lakeside calm—you’ll find homes shaped by stories. The wind off Lake Ontario whispers through the maples. Summers bake, and winters bite. And every roof, like every person underneath, is quietly weathering something.

Ben knew this.

He wasn’t just buying a roof. He was solving a problem before it started.

Because in Scarborough, your roof isn’t just protection—it’s peace of mind. It’s insulation from lake-effect snow, wind tunnelling from the Bluffs, and the sun that bounces off shimmering Scarborough Beach just 7 kilometres south. It’s how you sleep soundly when January howls and stay cool when August scorches. With Interlock, you can rest assured that your home is shielded from the elements, providing unmatched security.

And that’s why Ben chose Interlock.

What Ben Said (Exactly)

Why This Matters

Ben’s not just satisfied—he’s inspired. And that’s worth pausing for.

He saw what many overlook: a roof isn’t just an upgrade. It’s a transformation.

In a neighbourhood of brick bungalows and post-war charm, where the Scarborough Bluffs tower 90 meters above the shoreline and residents take pride in every flower box and garden gnome, his home now stands taller—not just in height, but in presence.

People stop. They ask questions. And suddenly, Ben’s decision becomes a conversation.

That’s how trust spreads.

What They Got (Without Needing to Ask)

This isn’t marketing fluff—it’s engineering fact:

  • A lifetime warranty means Ben will never re-roof again. Not once.
  • 4-way interlocking shingles mean his roof laughs at 120 km/h wind gusts.
  • Cool Roof technology reflects solar heat in those sticky August weeks.
  • Durability that shrugs off ice dams, summer storms, and, yes, raccoons.
  • Curb appeal that makes neighbours slow their cars.

And let’s not forget: this roof is solar-ready, built for the future, wrapped in the integrity of an ecological choice. By choosing Interlock, you’re not just investing in your home; you’re making a responsible choice for the environment and contributing to preserving our natural resources.

Scarborough’s weather doesn’t play around. Neither does this roof.

A Quick Word on the Community

Scarborough isn’t just a Toronto suburb—it’s a mosaic.

From the lush trails of Rouge National Urban Park to the architectural awe of the Guild Inn Estate, it’s a place where heritage and innovation overlap, where new Canadians put down roots, and where kids ride bikes in cul-de-sacs that echo laughter and long weekends.

Ben’s Interlock roof isn’t just part of that backdrop—it’s part of the narrative, a story of community and shared values. By choosing Interlock, you’re not just upgrading your home; you’re becoming part of a community that values quality, sustainability, and innovation.

Final Thought

If you’re in Scarborough—or anywhere the seasons make demands—Ben’s story is a signal.

It’s not just that Interlock roofs look good. But choosing one is an act of care—for your home, family, and the future.

Because sometimes the most powerful choice you make… is the one overhead.

Top 10 Roofing FAQs for Scarborough, Ontario Homeowners

For Scarborough’s challenging continental climate, with temperature swings from -25°C to +35°C, material selection is critical for long-term performance. Traditional asphalt shingles struggle with our freeze-thaw cycles and Toronto’s urban heat island effect, which can push roof temperatures significantly higher than surrounding areas.

Aluminum roofing is the top choice for Scarborough homeowners, offering unparalleled performance in extreme weather conditions. Its ability to handle thermal expansion and contraction without cracking or deteriorating and its effective snow and ice shedding properties make it a standout solution for the dangerous snow buildup that often plagues GTA homes during harsh winters.

Interlock Metal Roofing Systems offer particular advantages in our climate—their interlocking aluminum design creates superior wind resistance against Lake Ontario’s strong gusts while providing excellent protection from driving rain and snow. The reflective properties help combat summer heat, reducing cooling costs in Toronto’s increasingly hot summers.

While clay tiles work in some Scarborough neighbourhoods, they require structural assessment for snow load capacity. Synthetic materials offer durability but at premium pricing. Basic 3-tab shingles don’t hold up to GTA’s wind shear and ice expansion cycles.

Next step: Evaluate your home’s structural capacity and consider aluminum roofing systems designed specifically for Ontario’s challenging climate conditions.

Roofing investment in Scarborough varies significantly based on material choice, home complexity, and timing. The GTA’s competitive market provides options across all price ranges, but quality should drive your decision rather than the lowest cost alone.

Several factors influence pricing in our market: Toronto’s strict waste disposal requirements, permit fees, higher insurance costs for contractors, and the complexity of Scarborough’s diverse housing stock. Post-war bungalows with simple roof lines cost less than the standard multi-level designs in newer subdivisions.

Aluminum roofing represents excellent long-term value despite higher upfront investment. Aluminum systems often prove more economical over time when you factor in energy savings, reduced maintenance, and extended lifespan in our harsh climate. Interlock Metal Roofing systems particularly excel in cost-effectiveness due to their durability and performance in Ontario conditions.

Seasonal timing affects pricing—spring sees premium rates due to winter damage repairs, while late fall offers competitive pricing as contractors maintain crews during slower periods. However, avoid rushed installations during poor weather that compromise quality.

When planning your budget for roof replacement, it’s crucial to obtain detailed quotes that include permits, waste removal, and warranties—plan for contingencies, especially in homes over 30 years old where decking repairs may be needed. Consider financing options for premium materials that provide superior long-term value.

Late August through October provides ideal conditions for Scarborough roofing projects. Temperatures remain moderate, rainfall typically decreases, and you’ll avoid spring’s unpredictable weather and summer’s extreme heat. This timing also offers better contractor availability and competitive pricing as demand moderates after peak summer.

Toronto’s construction season constraints mean quality contractors book solid through May and July, making fall scheduling advantageous. Aluminum roofing installations benefit from moderate temperatures that allow proper thermal expansion calculations and optimal working conditions for precision installation. This availability will ensure you’re not rushed into a decision.

Winter work is possible but challenging. Temperatures below -10 °C complicate installations and may void some material warranties. However, quality contractors like those installing Interlock Metal Roofing systems have techniques for winter emergency work when necessary.
Spring (April-May) brings high demand from winter damage discoveries, creating scheduling challenges and premium pricing. Many Scarborough homeowners find ice dam damage in March, creating urgent repair needs.

Planning timeline: Book quality contractors 8-12 weeks ahead during peak season. Complex projects involving structural work or heritage approvals need 3-4 months’ lead time. Allow additional time for manufacturing aluminum roofing systems requiring precise measurements and custom fabrication.

Weather strategy: Monitor Environment Canada forecasts and maintain flexible scheduling. Quality contractors prioritize proper installation conditions over rushed timelines.
