Interlock Roofing Ltd. has extended its lifetime aluminum roofing system to a building's exterior walls with new aluminum metal siding and wall cladding. What is Interlock metal siding?

Interlock metal siding — also called aluminum wall cladding — is a lifetime exterior wall system formed from heavy-gauge aluminum and finished with the Alunar® Coating System, the identical material, colors, and trims used on Interlock roofs. Four-way interlocking panels install over most existing wall substrates to create a wind-resistant, no-repaint skin that never rots, warps, or corrodes.

A Natural Extension of Aluminum Expertise

Interlock siding is offered in four architectural profiles — Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, and Standing Seam — which can be mixed within a single color family for custom detail, such as Shake on a chimney and Standing Seam on a wall. The panels are formed from heavy-gauge aluminum and finished with the Alunar® Coating System, a multi-layer architectural coating with Cool Roof infrared-reflective pigments that reduce solar heat gain on the wall. Non-combustible aluminum construction carries a Class A fire rating (available) — a meaningful advantage in wildfire and ember-prone regions.

Because aluminum does not absorb moisture, the panels won't rot, warp, or crack through repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the factory-baked finish resists chalking and fading, so the cladding never needs scraping, priming, or repainting. The system also resists insects, carpenter ants, and coastal salt-air corrosion — the same qualities that make aluminum ideal for coastal and lakeside homes.

Aluminum Siding vs. Other Cladding

Where fiber cement can crack and absorb water, vinyl can fade and crack in the cold, and wood rots and demands repainting every few years, aluminum sidesteps all of it. An Interlock wall is expected to last 50+ years versus roughly 20–40 for fiber cement, 20–30 for vinyl, and 15–40 for wood — and unlike any of them, it matches an Interlock roof exactly, because it is the same system.

Interlock panels are made largely from recycled aluminum and are roughly 95% recyclable at end of life, and the Cool Roof pigments reduce solar heat gain on walls.
