A large percentage of landfill waste is comprised of discarded roofing materials

5/5

To Whom It May Concern:

We bought our house in 2001. At that time we knew we had about 5-7 years of life left on our composition roof.

In October of 2009, my husband and I attended the Home Show held at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and we submitted our name at the Interlock booth to get more information about metal roofs, as we had been thinking about moving in that direction to replace the roof.

About two weeks later, we met Ross Peterson. He spent about two hours educating us on roofs and all the different types of roofing materials available, how a large percentage of landfill waste is comprised of discarded roofing materials, and the range of expenses associated with the different kinds of roofs available to homeowners. He was polite, patient, and very knowledgeable.

We went into the meeting hoping that the cost of a metal roof would somehow match up with the amount of money we felt we had available to put a new roof on our house. Overall, we determined that the work being done and the length of time we could expect the roof to last would far outweigh the expense in the long run. Especially since a metal roof can last 50 years, but you can expect to put a composition roof on several times in that time-frame.

Our materials were delivered in early December and a few days later we met the work crew. They were friendly, considerate, and seemed well trained to complete the job. Unfortunately, we started having extreme weather conditions, like deep freezes one week and heavy rains the following week. Both of those situations caused the job to be delayed, both due to the safety of the crew and to keep the roof conditions as ideal as possible.

We are now almost 3 months post install and are quite happy with the end result. We are pleased with our color choice and plan to paint our house this summer with a coordinating color to complement the roof.

Thank you Interlock!

There were no surprises

5/5

We just wanted to let you know how thoroughly-pleased we are with our new Interlock Roof. It is absolutely beautiful and we have had a lot of people stopping as they walk or drive by to admire how nice it looks.

Everything progressed on the job exactly as you had shared with us when we signed the contract. There were no surprises. From the beginning when we got the call to set up a start date, to the final clean up and retrieval of the waste bin everything was handled so professionally. Viktor and Alex were a dream to work with-so-pleasant and each day everything was left so tidy that it would have been hard for guests to tell that we were in the middle of a re-roofing job.

We will highly recommend your product and doing business with such a professional and obviously well run company.

Sincerely,

The haunted house look changed instantly into desirable real estate

5/5

What a substantial difference the Interlock aluminum roof has made to the appearance of my hundred year old house. The haunted house look changed instantly into desirable real estate. The people who sold me the house have said they wish they had asked more for it now!

My previous roofer, who I have used for many years on five different roofs with excellent results; drove by and said he knew it was a good job. He also wanted to recommend Interlock roofing to another customer who wanted something better than
composition roofing.

The service was great, the sheet metal engineers were industrious, exacting workers, and there have been no problems with anything.

It looks so solid and neat; I cannot describe it exactly, but I will never be happy with composition roofing again. The leaves slide right off so it is always clean, and shows off the gables and fancy lines of the house so well… I love it!

A very satisfied customer,

Another advantage of a very conductive aluminum roof is that it forms a Faraday cage around the house

5/5

The Kirkwood family is the proud owner of a new, red, Interlock aluminum alloy tile roof, installed this July. This new roof greatly improved the look of our home in replacing our old wood shingle roof, whose life had expired. We were happy that the new roof could be installed directly over the old wood roof, without the messy ripping up that we have observed each of our neighbors go through. The installation crew were extremely courteous and worked very hard to complete the installation in 3 days. We were also impressed with the promptness of delivery for a custom made roof. It was only two weeks from order to installation.

What a difference! On a bright sunny day the red surface of the garage roof actually glows against the second story of the house. Our neighbors from up to a block away have commented that the house looks brand new. Sometimes we think they enjoy it more than we do. That is not completely true, however, because I will not miss cleaning the maple nuts, leaves and moss, applying water sealer then patching the wood shingle splits to prevent leaks. We waited in sending this letter until the middle of fall, to see how the new roof handles the maples nuts and leaves, as we live in a forest setting. On a rainy, windy, night this week, the rain washed the leaves down into the gutters, leaving the roof clean.

It is much easier to clean the gutters than the roof. Our house is also located near electric power transmission lines and stray electric fields from them interrupt AM radio signals. Another advantage of a very conductive aluminum roof is that it forms a Faraday cage around the house, eliminating the AM interruption and also potential health hazards. The roof has also improved reception from our outside antenna for TV signals.

We are very happy with our new roof.

We are enjoying a much cooler home interior, as advertised

5/5

Our Interlock Roof has now been installed three weeks and we couldn’t be more pleased. Suffice to say we haven’t yet experienced the winds and rains of winter, but we are enjoying a much cooler home interior, as advertised. Certainly the compliments we have been receiving from neighbors and passersby have been most positive and rewarding. Our cul-de-sac has five homes, each with a different roof; shake, tile, wood shingle, comp, and Interlock Aluminum, and needless to say which one stands out the most. Several have even asked if it’s a “slate roof. We’ve had so many ask about it that I now carry three of the shake shingles around in my car to show people we visit what Interlock is all about. Needless to say we’ve become quite an expert at “locking” them together.

The installation process was most impressive. We had two neighborhood homes, receive “comp” roofs while ours was being installed. They took about 3 days each to complete. Your installation team of Alex and Viktor Drigailo were here 11 days and what a pleasure and experience it was to observe their work. Just watching the time and care they exercised was sufficient to all that Interlock was a “different” roof. Their work ethic was something to behold and it was indeed our pleasure to have them with us for that period. We’ve even taken their photographs to remember them by.

Thank you all for making our new Interlock roof possible.

Most Sincerely,

My staff team upstairs noticed it keeping them cooler in the summer

5/5

The Interlock Roofing Team,

Thank you for a job well done! We are so pleased with the quality, look and feel of our new roof. Your installers were quick, courteous, and professional! We have noticed a big difference in this first year of how much better the roof is holding in the heat in during the winter. There is typically 3-6 feet of snow on the ground throughout the winter and I can also tell a difference by how and when it slides off the roof. Also my staff team upstairs noticed it keeping them cooler in the summer. We didn’t expect that but has been a added benefit.

Again, thank you so much for your investment into the lives of youth by providing a roof for our staff team. The old roof was not only an eye sore but leaking and a distraction to our mission. Folks and guests really like our new roof, we will surely recommend your product! Below are obvious before and after shots, Thank you!

We looked at another house in our small town that had one that was11 years old, looked like it had just been done!

5/5

So we needed roof repairs after losing a large section of our asphalt shingles went missing. The insurance company offered to basically provide us with a new asphalt roof! It sounded great, but we decided to look around and found Interlock Wasn’t cheap, but the insurance payout made it doable. We looked at another house in our small town that had one that was 11 years old, and it looked like it had just been done! Decided to go for it.

Everyone at the company, from salesperson to manager to the incredible roofing team, was so friendly and professional! Our place is an older home with many roof angles; the job took 17 days. We are so so pleased with the result. Lifetime guarantee, great company, house value has soared, and people are slowing on the street to look at it.

Thanks, Interlock.

We recently had our roof replaced. From the initial contact with Interlock/Maritime Permanent Roofing through sales representative John through to the roof replacement work with Brendan and the rest of the roofing team; everyone was professional, helpful and responded to us in a very timely manner. The finished product looks excellent and the work site was left clean and tidy. This is a great company to work with.

this roof was one of the best decisions we made on the house

5/5

We had our roof installed in 2006. Since then, we have added some more snow guards. Today Brad Cook installed more snow guards to protect our new deck. He was professional and efficient. He was impressed with the appearance of our roof. Said it looked new. I said this roof was one of the best decisions we made on the house. Very happy.

We just had a tremendous rain storm, the roof did amazing

Alsea, Oregon

5/5

From the ordering process that began in January to the actual install of the roof in November, the communication could have been better. The charcoal gray “slate” roof was installed a few days ago and we just had a tremendous rain storm, the roof did amazing. The workers who showed up were fast and professional and finished the job in 3 days. After they were done, they did a thorough site cleaning. The roof was definitely more costly than a conventional shingle roof and took some extra effort and delay to get scheduled, but we believe it was well worth it.

We wanted to upgrade our 100-year-old Chicago bungalow

5/5

The investment we made in a new aluminum slate style shingle roof was much more than we wanted to spend, but when we analyzed the pros and cons, including the cost, it came out ahead. We wanted to upgrade our 100-year-old Chicago bungalow and, in particular, rejuvenate the attic and basement spaces. We also want to install a solar panel array on the roof while the current incentives with the IRS, the state and the utility net metering system are still in effect. We wanted to reduce the massive composite shingle tonnage that is covering the incredible sea of roofs across the land. This is undoubtedly a rather large carbon footprint and the short lifespan of many roofs (10-15 years) are causing us to fill and foul unsustainable dumpsites.

The weight of our aluminum roof is less than 850 lbs., compared to 3-4 tons of architectural composite shingles. The Interlock roof is a lifetime roof warrantied for 50 years. When/if it is ever replaced, it will be completely recycle-able.

Much of the heat captured by composite shingle roofs is reflected by the aluminum. Previously, our attic could reach temperatures near 130°F. We have seen a significant reduction in afternoon attic temps, 10-20 degrees.

The installers, Jesse, Sal and Ben were very professional, safe and kind to us. They took the extra time to do it right and solve problems rather than take an easier route. They maintained social distancing and wore masks when necessary. They screwed down OSB sheathing on the existing 100-year-old deck boards which are stamped Sterling Lumber and Supply Co. “The Yards with the Stock”. This company was located two blocks from our house in the early 1900s. Interlock continues a tradition from Sterling Lumber to build to last a lifetime. The original 1919 roof rafters were 2″x4″x16′ and held up under numerous Chicago blizzards and storms. Prior to the project, we augmented the rafters with 2″x6″x16′ #1 southern yellow pine. Hopefully, the roof will bear another century of Chicago climate change.

The Interlock Industries’ workers installed 95 snow guards to breakup snow slides off the roof. The roof is very attractive and my neighbors have complemented the looks of it. The siding on the dormers were also replaced with the aluminum shingles. We had a choice of several shingle colors and chose one called gunflint. The shingles have a slate-like surface that is embossed on the aluminum to give it a textured appearance and perhaps breakup wind and water flows. The Interlock installers removed and sheathed over the chimney and vent caps and added a ridge vent. They installed soffit vents which apparently were never a feature of the house. They removed the gutters and reinstalled them in order to fit the drip edge flashing and lock down the shingles. Everything is fastened with screws powered by cordless screw guns. They did not use air compressors. They had safety lanyards attached to the ridge and foot boards around the perimeter of the roof throughout the installation.

We are very satisfied with the look of our new roof and ready to install solar panels which won’t have to be removed to re-roof because the roof will probably last longer than the solar panels. We are not young anymore and the long-term value of this project will most likely benefit others and the neighborhood more than us, but for the time being, we are happy customers.
