Having a crew person who speaks English fluently would have been very helpful. Now that the roof is completed, it would be nice to discuss further details with someone who is knowledgeable about the product (and speaks fluent English) because some of the issues that I presented at the time of sale could have been avoided. As it stands, we have a quality roof with minor imperfections that could have been avoided. This past week we have had a lot of rain and did some further inspection in the attic to verify no leaks (there were none), but we saw some concerns of the way the ridge caps were nailed, i.e., it appears that some were nailed only through the roofing paper and not necessarily through the plywood.

Detailed Ratings

Sales Punctuality

★★★★ Agree

Sales Knowledge

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“There were certain questions I had in regard to flashing that I felt he should have been able to answer rather than just saying "this is what they do every day." I am unclear why if InterLock has a superior product, they feel it is necessary to have high-pressure sales (why does a decision have to be made that evening to get the price that has been offered). So far we have been happy with the appearance of the roof, but we would have preferred to have been given a day or two to process our decision due to the significant cost involved.”

Employees Professionalism

Communication

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Staff: I coordinated a time with the staff to meet with the lead person regarding questions that Michael could not answer. I took a half day off of work to meet at a pre-arranged time (afternoon) and they never showed up. I called the office and received a return phone call saying they would be here the following day with no explanation of why they did not show up for our pre-arranged time.”

Installation Crew

★★★★ Agree
“The only downside of the crew (including the foremen) was that they did not speak English, making it very difficult for me to communicate with them. This resulted in some questions that are still unanswered. Also, this was a two-day project and each day we had a different foreman and it was unclear if my concerns were relayed to each of them.”

Quality Of Materials

★★★★ Agree
“So far we are happy with the quality of material. We hope it performs as promised. I have concerns with some flashing fit-up and ridge cap.”

Quality Of Workmanship

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Some of my concerns that were outlined in the beginning with Michael, the staff, and the crew did not get relayed. Due to our language barrier, I was unable to discuss them thoroughly with the crew, therefore, the quality of workmanship was compromised. In regard to flashing, I was concerned about damaging the wooden shakes on the house and the fit-up of the flashing. As a result, wooden shakes were damaged and areas of flashing were damaged and do not align properly.”

Clean & Safe

Professional Completion

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Due to Interlock's rule of signing the contract the day the roof was completed, our language barrier with the foreman did not allow us to complete a final walk-through and clarify our concerns.”

Problem Resolution

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“I followed up with InterLock with an e-mail and pictures showing the concerns and issues. Later in the week, I received a call from an InterLock representative who was in the area and wanted to stop by. I addressed some of my concerns (not all, due to the slight language barrier), but I have not heard back regarding where new plywood was installed on the roof.”
