I would like to recommend Interlock, and I may. It really depends on the circumstances of that friend. First and foremost it's an expensive niche product that is not for everyone. Second, the execution of our contract was not very satisfactory. I'm reluctant to recommend something this pricey when the vendor did not perform to their contract. Deliver by the date in your contract. Communicate more honestly and effectively as issue arise. Clean up the dangerous small bits of construction debris left everywhere. The contract page that asks for (commits people to?) social media endorsements before any work has been performed seemed especially absurd. In our business, those endorsements are earned. We strive to deliver an excellent customer experience - for every customer. We don't get a five-star review every time, but we certainly try to. Deliver on your customer expectations to earn positive reviews.

“Damon was punctual and helped when I had execution escalations.”

Employees Professionalism

★★★★ Agree

Communication

☆☆☆☆ Strongly disagree
“I struggled to get straight and honest answers to my installation scheduling questions.”

Installation Crew

★★★★ Agree
“The crew was great overall. We language differences were a bit of a challenge at times.”

Quality Of Materials

★★★★ Agree
“The materials appear to be fine. Some items had to be changed once the crew tore things apart (i.e., ridge vent wouldn't work)”

Quality Of Workmanship

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Time will tell about the quality. The first windstorm tore off a couple of pieces - that need to be reinstalled at some time. Also, once the crew left, I noticed that most of my skylight surrounds were punctured during the install. The skylight box is trimmed in sheetrock for the thickness of the rafters, and each one got hit/punctured which resulted in a hole in the sheetrock inside the room.”

Clean & Safe

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“Overall the site was maintained well and kept clean - especially during the work. However, since the crew left I'm noticing a lot of debris - particularly small cut shards of shingles and screws and nails everywhere. The ones on the ground are troubling since we have young children. Also, the gutters are filled with construction debris - the old removed roofing material, as well as the small aluminum shards and screws and nails. All of this junk is clogging my gutters and blocking my downspouts. I climbed up to clear one section and there are literally a hundred or more of pieces of junk in about a 5' run of gutter. Very frustrating.”

Professional Completion

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“It took the crew a month to complete the work - during winter on the Oregon coast. I'm OK with the job right now. My satisfaction may go up if the roof performs as it should, and if the pending issues are resolved.”

Schedule

☆☆☆☆ Strongly disagree
“We signed our contract in January of 2022. The contract specified a complete date of "Spring or Summer of 2022." At that time, I wrote a check for a sizeable amount that you sat on for almost a year. I should be paid interest on that money. At that time, I expressed my concerns to Damon about the very one-sided nature of your contract. It made me feel that I'm on the hook for everything, to the point of my house being taken... and that the wording eliminates all risk for you. You're not liable for any damages due to delays, weather and what not. That inherently biased language stuck with me for nearly a year as I patiently waited for a call from scheduling... As summer slipped by, I tried to confirm an install date. My queries were met with stall and delay tactics. Ultimately I felt the need to escalate matters due to the lack of response and my concerns of the looming weather. I own a small business. When I make commitments, I do everything in my power to meet those commitments. If that is not possible, I proactively communicate and actively explore options to mitigate the impact. I got the exact opposite response from Interlock. It's not how I would do business, and it's truly frustrating to be treated that way. By signing that contract, I felt that both parties made a commitment. Your actions make it clear that you don't feel that way. Work finally started in November and it took a month for them to finish. It seemed that they allocated a skeleton crew for much of this work (after tear-off).”
