Our recent experience with the team at InterLock Roofing was exceptional. Their Sales expert Chris L. worked with us to explain the features, advantages, and warranty of their lifetime aluminum shingle roof system. We worked together to document the complete scope of work before the work began. (The existing asphalt shingle roof, installed in 2006, had been leaking in several locations for year's - damaging our ceilings and hardwood flooring). Wilson P. (Site Foreman) and his install team were hard working, professional, and extremely thorough. They repaired our roof deck to eliminate all rot and the gaps in the original roof deck. (A major source of the leaks.) We could not be more pleased with our beautiful new LifeLock aluminum roof.

Review: September 24, 2004

Their work was performed with a true sense of professionalism. Our new roofs look great! We had many compliments from our neighbors and friends. On the second day that the sign was put on the front lawn, a woman knocked on the my front door for information about the roof. She loved it! I gave her a card. We are very satisfied with our new roofs and happy that we are guaranteed we will never have to replace it again.

Review: October 18, 2004 Completion: October 5, 2004

Dear Interlock, We are writing to inform you how pleased and satisfied we are with our newly installed roof. It was a big decision to make, and we were nervous at the time, but when our representative Mike Yaniv, explained and demonstrated the installation of the roof, he really made us feel more at ease. Alex, Dimitre and Dennis were the crew that worked on our roof. Not only did they do a very professional job – but they were also very polite, courteous and friendly. The job was completed in three days with very little mess, as Mike had told us at our first meeting. We were very impressed that the roof was done in such a timely fashion. Only half of the roof was finished, and our neighbors had already called to say they really liked the roof. Needless to say, when it was all finished, we received many compliments from our family and friends. We feel we made the right decision to go ahead with Interlock Roof and are glad we won’t have to worry about replacing it ever again. We would recommend this type of roofing and your company to anyone interested in replacing their roof. The roof looks great, and we are very happy!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Globe Village

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Globe Village, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Globe Village.

Will a metal roof handle freeze-thaw cycles in Massachusetts winters?

Yes — aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens through repeated freeze-thaw exposure rather than weakening. Globe Village experiences about 64 freeze-thaw days per year, plus roughly 67 cm of snow, conditions that crack asphalt and wood shingles but simply cycle aluminum without damage. The 3105-H24 alloy itself doesn't absorb moisture, so expansion and contraction stays minimal. Concrete and clay tile crack under these swings; aluminum flexes and survives.

How does a metal roof perform under Globe Village's snow load?

The snow sheds faster on metal than on asphalt, reducing ice-dam risk during the region's roughly 67 cm annual snowfall. Interlock panels install with a solid deck and underlayment beneath them, so heat transfer warms the underside just enough to help snow release without the convective loss asphalt causes. If you want extra snow retention, we install guards. The roofing profile you choose — Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, or Tile — all manage snow equally well because the interlocking four-way system is what does the work.

Does the interlocking design keep out heavy rain like Globe Village gets?

Completely. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed about 1210 mm of annual rainfall without pooling water, and the overlap geometry means water always flows away from seams rather than toward them. The solid deck and underlayment underneath catch anything that tries to get past the panels themselves — we don't rely on the metal alone. This two-layer protection is why metal roofs over 20 years old rarely develop interior leaks even in regions with comparable or heavier rain.

Can aluminum roofing rust in a wet New England climate?

No — aluminum contains no iron, so rust is impossible. Instead, aluminum develops a paper-thin, self-healing oxide layer that re-forms instantly if scratched. Globe Village's 1210 mm annual rainfall and salty Northeast air would devastate steel roofing within years, but Interlock has been installing roofs in coastal salt-air homes since 1998 and even supplied panels to an Antarctic research station. We coat both sides of every panel with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon (30-year warranty against chalking), adding extra defense where corrosive air touches the underside.

What hail rating does Interlock metal roofing carry, and will it lower my insurance?

Interlock carries the highest available: UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Some insurers offer discounts for Class 4 roofing because repair or replacement claims drop dramatically. Ask your agent directly, but many homeowners in hail-prone regions see 5–15% premium reductions. Aluminum's rigidity and the interlocking panel geometry distribute impact energy across a wider area than asphalt or wood can manage, turning what would be puncture damage into a barely visible dent.

How do metal roofing panels stay attached during nor'easters?

The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its four neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof plane rather than stressing individual fasteners. The warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, and Globe Village's typical gusts reach about 22 km/h with recorded maxima around 178 km/h — well within that envelope. The panels don't flap or lift because the mechanical lock engages before wind pressure can peel an edge free. Steel fasteners do corrode; our system's lock mechanism never does.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

Usually not. Interlock Tile profile installs at about 0.59 lb/sq ft — roughly 96% lighter than the same visual design in concrete or clay tile — so most homes don't need structural reinforcement. Even the heavier Shake profile sits at just 0.58 lb/sq ft. Because metal roofing installs so light, we often install over your existing asphalt roof instead of tearing it off, which saves money and avoids the landfill cycle. A structural engineer can confirm your framing handles it, but we rarely encounter a situation where it doesn't.

Will an Interlock metal roof actually reduce my cooling costs?

energy-efficient colors with 0.84 thermal emissivity and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 keep attic temperatures cooler than asphalt, reducing air-conditioning load in warmer months. With about 3103 sunshine hours per year, Globe Village gets consistent opportunity for this reflective advantage. Cool Roof Rating Council rated and tested under ASTM standards — this is measured performance, not marketing. Savings vary by home orientation, insulation, and cooling habits, but homeowners in similar climates typically see 10–20% summer cooling reduction on the metered bill.

What warranty backs an Interlock metal roof, and how long does it actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited for the original owner — non-prorated material coverage for rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The coating itself carries a 30-year fade and chalk warranty. The warranty transfers once to a future buyer, giving them 50 years from completion, which means real resale appeal. Installed panels routinely exceed 50 years in the field; the limit isn't material failure but a decision to refresh aesthetic appeal. No other roofing material offers transferable coverage like this.

Who installs Interlock roofs in Globe Village, and how experienced are they?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served this region since 1999 — they know Northeast weather, local building codes, and the specific installation details that keep a roof dry through 67 cm of snow and 1210 mm of rain annually. The company was founded the year after Interlock itself began manufacturing in Delta, BC, so crews have worked with the panels since nearly the start. Currently we're offering no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Call to schedule a free assessment of your current roof.
