Don't hire these people if you have a TV antenna or satellite dish on your roof. hire crews that can comminicate with homeowners I've hired a professional, English-speaking bucket truck crew to repair my broadcast antenna rotor I'll let you know when all the mistakes and broken accessories are corrected/replaced but I don't want to see any of those idiots on my roof ever again. .

You should stipulate that the subcontractor always have someone on site who speaks English. This didn't create an issue but it could have.

Review: March 10, 2026Completion: February 5, 2005

We had our whole house done by Interlock in 2005, we've only had one issue (wind damage) and they came out the next day to repair the damage. At the time we left a small overhang undone with plans of removing it, however our plans changed and the roof had deteriorated with the passing of time. I called and they were very receptive to coming out to inspect and then replace. The work was done quickly, on time and to my complete satisfaction. I highly recommend Interlock, you wont be sorry!

Review: February 21, 2026Completion: November 19, 2025

Jonathan was not great at reading the room. I did not need a lengthy sales pitch; just information. See above. I did not love interacting with Jonathan Brown; he does not seem to recognize when someone knows what they want and doesn't need to be sold. It also would have been helpful if the installers were more proactive in communicating with me. They would mention that I could talk to their foreperson if I had questions, but I wouldn't know what to ask since the activity was happening on the roof and I couldn't really see what they were doing.

The roof was installed over 20 years ago. I called this morning and someone came by within a couple of hours and spent a few hours here and didn't leave until it was fixed. Couldn't possibly ask for more.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Patuisset

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Patuisset, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Patuisset.

Does a metal roof handle Patuisset's 59 cm of annual snow without ice dams?

Yes—metal's smooth surface and thermal properties minimize ice dam formation compared to asphalt. Patuisset averages about 50 freeze-thaw cycles per year, which is exactly where metal roofing excels. The four-way interlocking panel design sheds water and snow efficiently, and you can add snow guards to your chosen profile (Slate, Shake, or Standing Seam) if roof pitch or overhang length demands it. Most homeowners in freeze-thaw zones find metal requires less winter maintenance than traditional shingles, which develop granule loss and curling under repeated temperature swings.

Why is aluminum roofing better than steel for coastal Massachusetts salt air?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—period. Its oxide layer self-heals when scratched, preventing the corrosion cascade that compromises steel within years. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel, adding a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. With Patuisset's ~1176 mm annual rainfall and proximity to coastal spray, this dual-sided protection is critical; steel roofs require constant vigilance, while aluminum simply becomes more weather-resistant over time. It's been installed on Antarctic research stations and Maine coastal homes for decades without coating breakdown.

Can aluminum panels withstand Patuisset's 50 annual freeze-thaw cycles?

Absolutely. Aluminum's crystalline structure is inherently freeze-thaw resistant—it doesn't absorb water into micro-fractures the way slate, asphalt, or clay tile do. During the 50 freeze-thaw cycles Patuisset experiences annually, wood-based profiles and traditional shingles expand and contract enough to develop splits and curling. The 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloys (ASTM B209) are engineered for exactly this stress. Combined with the four-way interlocking design and ICC-ES ESR-1790 code approval (reissued 2025), your roof remains dimensionally stable year after year, even as temperatures swing from well below freezing to above 15°C within a single week.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost if I plan to stay in my Patuisset home long-term?

Over a 50-year horizon, metal is almost always cheaper than the asphalt-replacement cycle. You'll buy asphalt three to four times over that period; each tear-off and disposal costs money and hassle. Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for you, then transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion—no other roofing material matches that coverage. With Patuisset's ~1176 mm rain and 59 cm snow annually, asphalt undergoes rapid weathering. Right now, there's no interest, no payments until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation—those terms compress your payback window significantly. One roof, one decision, decades of certainty.

Will my house need structural upgrades for a metal roof?

No—aluminum is extraordinarily light. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which visually replicates heavy concrete or clay, weighs only ~0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than the real thing. Your framing never needs reinforcement. Even better, Interlock metal installs directly over most existing roofs, saving you tear-off labor and debris hauling. In New England's heavy-snow climate (Patuisset averages 59 cm annually), this lightweight advantage means the load that matters—actual snow weight—gets better structural performance without costly engineering. Homeowners often skip $5,000–$15,000 in unnecessary reinforcement work simply because aluminum is so light.

Does Interlock metal roofing qualify for hail damage insurance discounts?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That durability often translates to homeowner insurance discounts in hail-prone regions. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 rating and ICC-ES ESR-1790 documentation to discuss your specific policy. Massachusetts coastal areas and inland zones like Patuisset experience wind gusts averaging 27 km/h daily, with peak gusts to 148 km/h; Class 4 impact rating also protects against airborne debris in high-wind events. Many insurers recognize non-combustible, impact-rated roofs as lower-risk, which can lower your premium.

Can Interlock panels resist Patuisset's coastal wind gusts?

Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. Patuisset's typical peak gusts reach 148 km/h, well within that safety margin. The interlocking design means each panel is mechanically secured to its neighbors, not just the deck—wind uplift cannot separate them. Combined with ICC-ES ESR-1790 code approval and proper fastening, your roof becomes a unified wind-resistant system. Compared to asphalt shingles, which can blow off in sustained gusts above 110 km/h, metal provides genuine peace of mind during the Atlantic nor'easters that buffet Massachusetts coastal towns.

Will a metal roof help me save on cooling costs in Patuisset summers?

energy-efficient colors in the Interlock range deliver thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. Patuisset receives about 3165 hours of sunshine annually; every hour of direct sun, a reflective metal roof stays cooler than dark asphalt. You'll notice lower attic temperatures and modest air-conditioning savings, especially in the shoulder seasons. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms this performance. While Patuisset's mean temperature is only 11.8°C, summer peaks still justify the reflectivity. Pair metal roofing with good attic ventilation and the cooling effect multiplies.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need versus asphalt shingles?

Metal requires far less: no seasonal granule loss, no curling from freeze-thaw stress, no moss or algae treatment. Your Interlock roof is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. Patuisset's ~1176 mm annual rainfall and 59 cm snow mean asphalt shingles face constant weathering; by year 15, you're typically replacing flashing, repairing wind damage, and clearing debris. Metal roofing simply drains, sheds, and lasts. Annual inspection of flashings and gutters is all you need. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating on both sides of each panel is self-cleaning in rain, and aluminum's oxide layer continues strengthening as it ages. Most homeowners report zero maintenance calls in the first 20 years.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Patuisset, and how long does the job take?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served Massachusetts since 1999 and knows local building codes, permit processes, and seasonal weather windows. The company is the factory-authorized installer for the Patuisset area and carries full product knowledge across all five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam. Installation typically takes 3–7 days for a typical residential roof, depending on size, complexity, and whether you're installing over existing shingles or a new deck. Interlock (New England) handles permits, inspections, and warranty registration on your behalf. Because aluminum panels are lighter than traditional materials (Slate ~0.41 lb/sq ft), labor is often faster than asphalt or slate replacement, keeping your home exposed to the elements for the shortest window.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Patuisset’s climate?

Yes. Patuisset averages about 59 cm of snow, 1176 mm of rain, roughly 50 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 148 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
