Review: April 24, 2026 Completion: November 9, 2017

I love my Interlock roof! No more climbing up to clean it, and no more gritty debris falling into my garden after a few years. It looks fantastic and performs exactly as it should. The installers were excellent—knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and personable. Ivan is a gem! He handled a small flashing addition efficiently and cleaned the entire roof with a blower in no time. After almost ten years, it’s still the only roof I would choose.

Review: August 1, 2023 Completion: July 31, 2023

Our 18 year house needed something. A local roofer suggested a$ 5 K, roof treatment with yearly treatment of $1000. And a roof replacement with shingles at 60K. We looked into Interlock. I was impressed with the product and the absence of middlemen between installation. And quality if the product. The investment was significantly higher but we were impressed and felt it would be the best choice. The crew was polite and professional. They cleaned up every day as promised As you can see from the picture the roof is beautiful Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Service: Roof installation

Review: March 15, 2021 Completion: September 26, 2018

I love my Interlock Metal Roof! It makes my whole house look more beautiful. I was so impressed by how quickly and efficiently the roof was installed. It will be a while before I retire, but when I do I want to spend my time and money on travel and other fun things. I am so glad I never have to worry about re-roofing then or ever again! Not only that, but my roof will be just as beautiful then as it is now. If you are thinking about re-roofing, give Interlock a look.

Review: July 15, 2019 Completion: September 9, 2017

As a retired civil engineer I bought the roof for seismic purposes. The existing asphalt roof weighed over nine thousand pounds (8 1/2 tons). This one weighs about 800. That's like taking two full sized pickup trucks off the top of your house. The interesting part has been temperature. The aluminum dropped the summer temperatures in the house dramatically. The attic cools very quickly after the sun drops. Yes, even in black. Aluminum, regardless of he color does not store heat. This is not only a beautiful roof but it was very nicely installed by two guys that really cared about what they were doing.

My wife thought they treated her as though she wasn't a decision maker and she didn't like that.

Review: September 6, 2018 Completion: August 25, 2018

Our issues were more situational. A dumpster was not able to be dropped at our house due to the location so cleanup was a concern and there was a lot of debris around the yard but that could not be helped. I am very satisfied and would definitely recommend them.

The discount for plowing pictures to be taken, write a review and putting a sign out was a very short timeframe. I was not unable to take advantage of it. It was only for 3 or 4 days. It seemed like an arbitrary deadline.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Corvallis

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Corvallis, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Corvallis.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof, and what does the warranty actually cover?

Interlock roofs last 50+ years with proper installation, backed by The Guardian—a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The Alunar coating itself carries a separate 30-year fade guarantee. When you sell, the warranty transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding real resale appeal in Corvallis' competitive market where homes sit through freeze-thaw cycles about 31 days yearly.

Why can't an aluminum roof rust, and why does that matter in Oregon's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes. Instead, aluminum develops a thin oxide layer that actually self-heals when scratched, making it ideal for Corvallis' 1517 mm of annual rainfall and coastal moisture that travels inland. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24/3003-H24 aluminum (ASTM B209) with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides, tripling protection in high-moisture environments. Steel roofs, by contrast, require continuous paint maintenance to prevent rust—a burden you simply don't face with aluminum.

How does a metal roof handle Corvallis winters with snow and ice dams?

Corvallis averages about 46 cm of snow annually alongside roughly 31 freeze-thaw days—conditions that stress asphalt and wood shingles. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth metal surface and tight seams prevent water from pooling behind dams. The extremely light weight (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural strain from accumulated snow load, and you can add snow guards if you prefer extra control in heavier years. The rigid aluminum won't warp, split, or curl under repeated freeze-thaw stress the way asphalt and wood do.

Will a metal roof stay put during Corvallis windstorms?

Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—well above Corvallis' typical gust speeds of about 115 km/h. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides, creating a unified system that distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. This mechanical interlock, combined with proper installation per ICC-ES ESR-1790 specifications, means your roof handles the region's windiest days with no leaks or panel lift. Most asphalt and wood roofs rely on adhesive or fewer fasteners and fail first in high wind.

Can a metal roof really handle 1500+ mm of rain per year without leaking?

Absolutely. Corvallis receives about 1517 mm of annual rainfall—more than most U.S. cities—and Interlock's four-way interlocking seams are engineered to shed water immediately. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, and the overlapping design directs rainfall straight down and off your roof with zero ponding or trapped water. The system has been ICC-ES evaluated (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) for compliance with IBC/IRC standards, and installed examples range from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station—environments far harsher than the Willamette Valley. Asphalt shingles rely on granule integrity and sealant strips that degrade; metal's seamless interlock is passive and permanent.

Is my roof safe if a hailstorm hits Corvallis, and could I get an insurance break?

Interlock holds a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the roof survives repeated impact from steel balls dropped from 20 feet without cracking or loss of watertightness. Many insurers recognize this rating and offer premium discounts because claims are so rare; check with your agent. Corvallis' climate doesn't feature frequent large hail, but the Class 4 rating gives you permanent protection and peace of mind—something asphalt and wood roofs cannot match, which is why they carry hail exclusions or surcharges.

Will a metal roof actually reduce my cooling costs in Oregon?

Metal roofs with reflective coatings reduce cooling costs by bouncing solar heat away instead of absorbing it into your home. Interlock's energy-efficient colors feature thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they stay cooler under the Willamette Valley's 3029 annual sunshine hours. Lighter profiles like Slate (0.41 lb/sq ft) also improve attic ventilation because air circulates more freely beneath thin aluminum than beneath heavy asphalt. Cool Roof Rating Council verified—your summer electric bills drop compared to dark asphalt, which absorbs and radiates heat into your attic and living spaces.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost, or is asphalt cheaper over time?

Metal costs more upfront but is the last roof you'll buy. Asphalt lasts 15-25 years, requiring costly tear-off and replacement—plus disposal fees—every two decades. Interlock lasts 50+ years with a lifetime non-prorated warranty, meaning no surprise repair bills for splitting, cracking, or premature failure. Over 50 years, you'll tear off and replace asphalt 2-3 times; with metal, you're done once. Add the 30-year coating warranty, zero maintenance (asphalt needs frequent inspection and repairs), and potential insurance discounts for Class 4 hail resistance, and metal saves tens of thousands in Corvallis' moisture-heavy climate where asphalt deteriorates faster.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my old roof?

Interlock's extraordinary lightness—Slate at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, Tile at about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—means installation is faster and you often avoid costly tear-off. You can install directly over most existing roofs because no structural reinforcement is needed; your home's frame wasn't built to support slate or tile, so there's no load issue. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., your local installer serving the region since 1997, can assess your structure and typically complete residential jobs in days rather than weeks. Currently, financing is available: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. This speed and cost advantage over traditional materials makes metal the practical choice.

Can I get the look of slate, cedar shake, or tile on a metal roof?

Yes—Interlock manufactures five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile, each using the same roofing-grade 3105-H24/3003-H24 aluminum alloy and four-way interlocking system. Every profile delivers authentic visual depth and texture while retaining metal's durability across Corvallis' 1517 mm rain, 46 cm snow, and 31 annual freeze-thaw days. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (30-year fade warranty) resists UV and maintains color through thousands of hours of Willamette Valley sunshine. Choose traditional aesthetics without the maintenance burden—cedar shake won't split or curl, slate won't crack under freeze-thaw stress, and tile won't break under moderate impact the way the real materials do.
