What our customers are saying:
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.
I love the roof! It looks great, and the squirrels that we’re crawling all over my old asphalt roof slide right off it. The snow slides off, too. I hope to get some $500 referrals. The crew was terrific, hardworking, courteous, polite, and clean.
25 years of saving money in a C.D. has well paid off for me. I endeavored to save money for a high-quality roof; not wanting to pay for a substandard roofing system. I no longer wanted to have asphalt shingles. Interlock Roofing is the Crème de La of all roofing. One day in June of 2014, I took one of my long walks. I came to a perfect standstill gazing up at the roof of a home I had often passed. It had a new hairdo. This elegant and beautiful roof (dark gray " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate) certainly wasn’t asphalt shingles. What could it be? I decided to find out and knocked on the side door. I said to the man who came to the door, “where did you ever get such beautiful roofing?” He then explained that he was thrilled with his recent purchase of Interlock Roofing that was installed in early spring. He immediately told me that it was a “lifetime” roof that was not only very energy efficient but was constructed as a high-impact roof which could better handle nasty storms. He explained to me that I could get rid of my roofing heat tapes because there would be no more ice damming that I would have to be concerned about. Then he added with a twinkle in his eye that I could watch my neighbors struggle with raking snow off their roofs and know that I would never have to stand out in the cold doing this task. With great pride, he told me that Interlock Roofing would look as great as it does today as it would many years down the road because the color never fades. I said, “Who do I contact to get this kind of roof?” He gave me “Greg Weber’s telephone number. He also told me of another home in the area that has had the roof on for 7 years that I could go look at. I got in my car the next day and went over to that home and spoke to the owner, and asked him if he was satisfied with the roof. He answered, “I’m 100% plus satisfied!” WOW! That’s as good as it gets. The rest is history because I made an appointment to see Greg Weber. This week of August 18-20 installers came and installed my new roof on both the house and the garage. These men were by far the best men you could get. Would you like to know why? It’s because of their work ethics. They were polite, accommodating, and extremely hard-working. It was evident that they certainly knew what they were doing every step of the way. When they were finished the end product of their job was both elegant and beautiful! I hope people will take time to consider getting Interlock Roofing, which in my opinion is the best choice they could make if they desire to have a quality roof. Also, I appreciate buying from a company that takes so much pride in what they are doing. Interlock Roofing Speaks for itself when you see it.
Customer Satisfaction 5/5 Builders Permit was not filled correctly with the City of Madison. Must be corrected by 04/29/10. Satisfied with the installation and the product. Has a great look from the street.
Drip, drip, drip. This is not a sound you want to hear at 3:30 am… in bed… coming from your attic… in the dead of winter. A quick peek in the attic confirmed my worst fears, the ice dam on the roof was allowing melted water to seep through the crappy asphalt shingles and into the house. We called a local contractor and had the ice dam removed, but this didn’t fix the underlying problem that our current roof was cheap and damaged. My wife and I moved into a beautiful three-story brick Tudor on Madison’s near west side in the fall of 06′. It was perfect in that it had been beautifully remodeled with gorgeous woodwork, marble, and stunning attention to detail, with the exception of the roof. We had decided that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, this was the house we were going to stay in until retirement, so why not invest in a metal roof. After a couple of weeks of research and interviewing, we settled on Interlock. Part of the choice was made on the quality of the product, and part was made on the salesmanship of the rep, Chuck. Work started and except for some problems with the weather, things progressed smoothly. We were especially impressed with the steps the crew took in regard to safety, and our stay-at-home neighbor told us about how exciting the crew was, “you’re definitely getting your money's worth,” was her exact quote. At the end of the job, the crew even emptied all the trash we had pulled out of the attic for us. Now that’s service! After everything is said and done, we’ve been able to cap off our gorgeous house with an equally gorgeous roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Emerson East
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Emerson East, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Emerson East.
How does a metal roof handle Emerson East's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?
Aluminum sheds snow and ice far better than asphalt because its smooth, interlocking surface creates no grip for accumulation. With about 89 cm of snow per year and roughly 84 freeze-thaw days, this matters: metal won't degrade from repeated thawing and refreezing the way asphalt shingles curl and crack. The four-way interlocking panels expand and contract as a unified system, staying watertight through temperature swings from near 0°C to summer heat. Add optional snow guards to control slide-off, and you've eliminated the winter headaches that wood shakes and slate require.
Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust like steel, and why does that matter in Wisconsin?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes. Instead, it forms a microscopically thin oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, protecting the metal underneath indefinitely. In Dane County's 781 mm annual rainfall, this matters enormously: your roof will never develop the orange streaks or structural weakness that plague steel or allow water ingress. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating on both panel sides adds a 30-year fade and chalking warranty, so even the finish resists weathering through decades of Wisconsin's wet springs and falls.
Will a metal roof hold up to Wisconsin's wind gusts?
Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, far exceeding Emerson East's typical gust peaks of 104 km/h. The four-way interlocking design means each panel locks to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof system rather than relying on fasteners alone. You're not fighting against wind; you're using it. That same interlocking grip prevents wind uplift, ice dams, and the fastener-pop failures that plague single-lock or standing-seam designs.
Is my house strong enough for a metal tile roof, or will I need expensive structural work?
No structural reinforcement needed. Interlock Mediterranean Tile is roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—it installs at only 0.59 lb/sq ft, meaning a typical 2,000 sq ft roof weighs less than 1,200 pounds. Compare that to 10–15 tons for concrete tile, and you'll see why you can install over most existing roofs without beam reinforcement, sistering joists, or hiring a structural engineer. Even the heavier Shake profile (0.58 lb/sq ft) is light enough for standard framing. This opens up metal roofing to older homes and budget-conscious owners who'd otherwise be priced out.
What hail protection does a metal roof offer, and can I get an insurance discount?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. In Wisconsin's typical spring and early-summer weather, that's substantial peace of mind. Many insurance underwriters recognize aluminum's impact resistance and non-combustibility (Class A fire rating available) and offer discounts on premiums; ask your agent for quotes before and after installation. The combination of durability and reduced maintenance costs often makes the metal roof cost-neutral or net-positive over a 25–30 year period compared to asphalt shingles.
How long will a metal roof last, and what does the warranty actually cover?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. When you sell, it transfers to the next owner for 50 years from completion—a genuine incentive for future buyers. In contrast, asphalt shingles carry 20–25 year limited warranties and typically fail sooner in Wisconsin's 84 annual freeze-thaw days. Aluminum's oxide layer and the 30-year PVDF coating warranty mean you're insulated against both material failure and finish degradation through the longest ownership scenarios.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Metal requires almost none. Asphalt shingles need regular inspections for curl, moss, and granule loss; wood shakes demand staining, moss treatment, and splinter repair; slate and tile require mortar repointing. Interlock aluminum is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance: rinse it annually if you're in a heavily wooded area, and that's it. The four-way interlocking design sheds debris, the smooth aluminum surface resists algae and moss, and the aluminum itself never rots. Over 30 years, you'll spend roughly zero on repairs—just the occasional gutter clearing. That absence of upkeep alone justifies the upfront cost for many Dane County homeowners.
Is a metal roof cheaper than asphalt shingles over the life of my home?
Upfront, metal costs more—typically 2–3 times asphalt. Over 50 years, it's the last roof you'll buy. Asphalt shingles need replacement every 20–25 years (two cycles), plus moss treatment, flashing repairs, and gutter cleaning on a cycle. A metal roof installed once costs less in aggregate—materials, labor, disposal, and downtime combined. The lifetime limited warranty and 50-year transferable term also protect resale value: future buyers see durability and zero maintenance as financial assets. Factoring in avoided tear-offs, landfill fees, and replacement labor, most owners break even within 15–20 years and profit thereafter.
Does a metal roof actually save on cooling costs, especially with Wisconsin's sun exposure?
Reflective Interlock colors—rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council—achieve solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they bounce heat away rather than absorbing it like asphalt. In a place with about 3,089 annual sunshine hours, that translates to measurable cooling-cost savings, especially on south and west exposures. energy-efficient options further reduce your carbon footprint and may qualify for rebates. Combined with the 95% recyclability of aluminum, you're cutting both your utility bill and your environmental impact—a dual win that asphalt shingles cannot match.
Is aluminum roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Yes, in two ways. First, Interlock aluminum is roughly 95% recyclable at end-of-life, versus asphalt shingles, which end up in landfills for decades and cannot be recovered. Second, you install metal once and keep it for 50+ years, eliminating the tear-off-and-haul-away cycle every 20–25 years. With Wisconsin's 781 mm annual rainfall and frequent freeze-thaw, asphalt degrades faster, triggering more replacements and more waste. Manufacturing aluminum requires energy, but the per-year environmental cost over a 50-year lifespan is far lower than multiple asphalt cycles. For homeowners who care about their carbon footprint, metal is the honest choice.
