Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Review: May 17, 2017

Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.

Review: May 17, 2017

We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.

Review: May 16, 2017

The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!

Review: May 16, 2017

First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.

Review: May 16, 2017

Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.

Review: May 16, 2017

We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.

In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!

Review: April 25, 2017

We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Zenda

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Zenda, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Zenda.

How does a metal roof hold up to Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?

Aluminum roofing outperforms traditional materials in freeze-thaw because the metal itself cannot absorb water, crack, or split—conditions that destroy asphalt and wood in freeze-thaw climates. Zenda experiences about 83 freeze-thaw days per year, making this durability crucial. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy used in Interlock panels is rated for exactly these conditions under ICC-ES ESR-1790. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle when frozen, aluminum flexes with expansion and contraction, and its self-healing oxide layer prevents corrosion even when the surface is scratched during thermal stress.

Do metal roofs handle heavy snow loads and ice dams?

Yes—and better than heavier alternatives. Zenda receives about 84 cm of snow annually, but metal roofing's smooth, interlocking surface sheds snow and ice far more effectively than textured asphalt. The panels' four-way interlocking design and lightweight construction (Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft) mean no structural reinforcement is needed, even over existing roofs. The slick aluminum surface naturally reduces ice dam formation by allowing meltwater to flow freely. Snow guards can be added where code requires it, giving you complete control over snow management without the weight penalty of traditional tile.

Will a metal roof blow off in Zenda's wind gusts?

No. Interlock roofs are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, far exceeding Zenda's typical gusts around 100 km/h. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together mechanically—they don't rely on adhesive or nails alone to stay in place. Each panel's edges grip its neighbors, creating a unified system that strengthens as wind pressure increases. This design makes metal roofing exceptionally reliable in the variable spring and fall wind patterns common to Walworth County, where gust-prone weather can stress conventional roofing systems.

What happens to a metal roof in a hailstorm?

Interlock metal roofing carries the highest hail impact rating available: UL 2218 Class 4. The warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rating reflects rigorous impact testing on the aluminum panels themselves. Because metal is dent-resistant and non-brittle, it absorbs impact energy without cracking or creating entry points for water—unlike asphalt shingles, which split and curl under hail damage. Many insurance companies recognize this durability and may offer premium discounts. In Wisconsin's spring severe-weather season, this protection is valuable peace of mind for homeowners.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is required. Interlock aluminum roofing is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, installs at about 0.59 lb/sq ft and is roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means it can be installed directly over most existing asphalt roofs, eliminating the cost and disruption of tear-off and removal. Zenda homes built to standard framing easily support metal's minimal weight load. Because aluminum panels weigh so little compared to the roof deck's design capacity, you avoid expensive structural upgrades that would be necessary for traditional tile, allowing you to convert to metal roofing affordably.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need?

Minimal—essentially just occasional gutter cleaning and debris removal. Interlock metal roofing requires no resealing, repainting, or replacement of worn coatings like asphalt shingles demand every 10–15 years. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish is rated to resist fading and chalking for 30 years. Zenda's 3,084 annual sunshine hours and mix of rain (838 mm) and snow (84 cm) present typical wear conditions; the metal surface sheds water and snow naturally without absorbing moisture. Unlike wood shake or cedar shingles, which split and rot in freeze-thaw cycles, or tile, which cracks and requires mortar repair, aluminum simply sheds weather and ages gracefully.

What warranty comes with an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's also one-time transferable, giving the next owner an additional 50 years of coverage from completion. This structure means you're protected for life, and your home's resale value includes a documented warranty that transfers to the buyer. No other roofing material—asphalt, wood, or concrete tile—offers this combination of original-owner lifetime protection and half-century transferability. It's the only roof you'll likely ever need to buy.

Is metal roofing fire-safe?

Yes. Interlock aluminum roofing is non-combustible and qualifies for Class A fire classification, the highest rating available. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy cannot ignite or contribute fuel to a fire. This non-combustible designation is verified under ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 and provides significant peace of mind, especially during Wisconsin's dry late-summer conditions or in areas near wooded properties. Insurance companies often recognize the fire-safety benefit of metal roofing. Unlike asphalt shingles, which are flammable, or wood shake, which is highly combustible, aluminum roofing is an intrinsically safer choice that protects your home and meets the strictest building codes.

Will a metal roof help lower my cooling costs?

Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors are rated with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55, meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs. This cool-roof performance is verified by the Cool Roof Rating Council. While Zenda's mean temperature of 9.4°C limits air-conditioning demand compared to southern climates, the reflective coating still reduces heat buildup in summer months and lowers cooling costs when you do run the system. The metal's smooth surface also conducts heat away from the attic faster than textured asphalt, reducing interior temperatures. Over a 30, 40, or 50-year roof life, these efficiency gains compound—especially as energy costs rise.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Zenda, Wisconsin?

Interlock Metal Roofing itself has served the Walworth County region since 2001, bringing over two decades of local expertise to your project. The company manufactures panels in Delta, BC, and has installed roofs from coastal salt-air environments to an Antarctic research station—so Wisconsin's freeze-thaw, snow, and wind conditions are well within their scope. Local installation means faster service, direct communication, warranty administration through the original installer, and a company invested in the community's trust. You're working with the manufacturer's authorized local team, not a distant subcontractor, ensuring quality and accountability.
