I was happy with the promptness of Derek. After the shingle shortness and phoning numerous times to find out when the installers were returning to finish the job I don't know about a recommendation. Keeping us informed about how long it would take to get the last of the shingles, knowing exactly when the installers were coming back. Having an unfinished roof in December was a bit unnerving especially over the Christmas season. Perhaps a follow up call once the job was complete for any questions or concerns. The job was finished December 23rd and I was uncomfortable that I was supposed to send a cheque with the installers. As well it is now January 5th and I have not been called about anything. I did find the revised amount in an email and sent the payment via the mail.

Employees Professionalism

★★★★ Agree
“The employees were alway courteous and polite. I can't give a 4 on professional as with the mix up in material delivery, the difficulty finding out the return time for the job completion I felt was not necessary. I have not had a followup call to find out why I had not sent payment, how we like the shingles, did everything end up getting finished before Christmas. I also found it unprofessional that I was suppose to send payment with the installers.”

Communication

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“After Derek came and signed the contract with me, I found it difficult to connect with any via the phone for questions. I would call and leave a voicemail or email and it would take a couple day to receive a response back. At the end of the roof install, the installers were short shingles and said they would be back as soon as they were available. This was a bit alarming as he didn't even know whether they were in stock. It was December 20th and there was a patch of missing shingles on our house roof. I immediately called Shauna who looked into it and said they would be there the next day. The next day no one came and I called the next morning and was told the shingles had just got to Edmonton the afternoon prior and the installers would be there that afternoon. No one came that day, and I once again called Shauna who said if they weren't there by 10am on Friday morning to call back. It was now December 23rd, and no one came by 10, 11 or 12. The installers had still not returned by 1pm, no one was answering the phone so we could not find out if the installers were still coming to finish the job. Finally arrive around 3pm on December 23rd. I felt like we should not have had to call repeatedly to get a specific date and time for when the roof would be finished.”

Installation Crew

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Our original install was scheduled for around the end of September beginning of October. We had been notified that there was a issue with a crew loss and the install would be towards the end of October. By the 4th week of October I had not heard from anyone. I called to let someone know we would be on vacation for a week in November. The material was going to be held in the warehouse until after our return. I came home one day to find some of the materials dropped off, the next day the delivery person called to drop of the rest of the items. I asked him why it wasn't being kept in the warehouse and he said he was not instructed of the change of plans. When I was called to schedule the install for the 3rd week of December, I reminded them of the material in my garage. I think Shauna was surprised to hear this, as the last we had talked it was supposed to be held in the warehouse.”

Quality Of Workmanship

★★★★ Agree
“I have not gone up to look as the snow started the day the install ended. If someone could call and make arrangements to have Derek come back after the snow melts in the spring, we can look at the shingles and ask any questions on quality of workmanship.”

Clean & Safe

★★★★ Agree
“As the material was stored in our garage (due to a mix up of the material being held in the warehouse but delivered before our vacation) we did find empty pop/gatorade bottles on the floor of the garage. There were a few empty beverage bottles & tops on the front grass.”

Professional Completion

★★★★ Agree
“I feel that the installer being short shingles was strange. Him not knowing whether they are available or when they would be back did not give me a confident feeling about the company.”

Problem Resolution

Schedule

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Install was postponed originally due to a loss of a install crew. The install started but we were surprised that there was a shortage of materials leaving the job not completed while more shingles were brought in.”
