Metal Shingles Red Deer, AB Review 🇨🇦 — August 9, 2022 | Interlock®
Red Deer, AB
I like the roof. What I do not like is the cost of it either. That is why they do not get a full rating. It is very expensive. Upon recommending it to a friend, I would suggest they look around as well. Again, it kind of falls back to that third party. If they had their own employees, they would not be so rushed. These guys I had were professional. They've done a lot of it, so they tore into it with long days. Being in the type of construction, I know that when it's a third-party and they only get paid for so much, their incentive is to get the job done, and getting the job done means they have to stay on time. That was the thing that surprised me. Their incentive is to get the job done quickly. The sooner they get it done, the more money they make. What I found surprising was that, with a big company like that, they did not show up with much in their toolbelt. I thought they would show up with a trailer. I was surprised to see they showed up with a truck and a tool belt. They did have a garbage trailer, and they had a trailer to bring in supplies. I was a little surprised that, being it is a third-party, those guys are not going to bring that stuff in as it is just the bare minimum. They basically had the bare minimum of tools. With the number of nails, I have a nail sweeper and I did not have it there. It was at a relative's, and it was better quality. I asked them if they could pick up the nails. They must have gone to a rinky-dink place and bought a really cheap one as it was falling apart. The clean up was 100%. It was pretty good, but not 100%. I still need to reach out to Interlock to see when they are going to come back out and fix that roof leak. I checked all the others and they are not leaking, so I am happy that it was not that big of a leak. It is a simple job for them to fix. If it was one of the other roofs, they would have to rip it all off. It is actually a cheap fix. I never heard back from the foreman on that with Interlock. I had to phone the salesman who told me all that. He was not in and phoned me back the next week. I had gone to work and I was busy, so I never returned his call. It had slipped my mind until now. I am not at home. I need to reach out to see when they are going to fix the roof that they guarantee. On the ground, the clean up was pretty good. My wife came to see me at work and she had a nail in her tire. The tire kept going flat. I highly suspect it was from my own driveway. She drove it to work, so there are still some out there floating around. But finding nails is to be expected with such a big roofing job. Things I cannot see from the ground, like the eavestroughs, weren't cleaned out all the way. They missed some. They cleaned one really well, but yet they still missed some. They worked their way down and then did not bother going back up at the end to do a final check. Another thing I would like to mention is that some of the flashing they bent, they left bent and wrinkly. I was not happy with that. I mentioned it to them and they did not replace it. They used my old flashing and just left it bent. I had to hire someone else to come and fix that. They should have fixed that for the price they charge. Obviously, they are not coming back to fix whatever for however long. My comments are that it was absolutely wonderful, and that is a false statement. I am going to have negative feedback and maybe if they had known that, they would have kicked it into gear.
