Jon at InterLock was excellent. We have signed with another company, had called and cancelled our Appointment with him. He called us back and asked us to give him a chance to talk with us. He came to our house sold us his product and his price. We cancelled with the first company that same day. Our roof was just completed 6 weeks after we signed with Jon. The roofers were professional and worked their tails off in freezing weather. The final product is beautiful. Thank you Jon and Interlock.

Top 10 Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Deerfield

Homeowners researching metal roofing in Deerfield often have several important questions before replacing their roof. Many people want to understand how metal roofing compares to traditional materials like asphalt shingles in terms of lifespan, durability, cost, and long-term value. Roofing decisions can also be influenced by local weather conditions. Homes in Deerfield may experience environmental factors such as rain, wind, snow, heat, fire, or seasonal storms that can impact roof performance over time. The following frequently asked questions help explain what homeowners should know when evaluating metal roofing and why many people choose durable roofing systems designed for long-term protection.

Metal roofs in Deerfield commonly last at least 50–75+ years, while asphalt shingles typically need replacement every 15–30 years. Deerfield sees cold, snowy winters with roughly 33 inches of annual snowfall—conditions that create heavy snow loads and frequent freeze–thaw cycles—and has wet, humid summers that increase moisture exposure and biological growth risks for some roof types. These local factors accelerate wear on asphalt (ice dams, moisture intrusion, shingle degradation) but play to metal’s strengths: durable panels shed snow, resist freeze–thaw damage, and handle moisture and wind better. Homeowners in Deerfield often choose long-lived metal systems to reduce maintenance, avoid frequent reroofing, and improve resistance to snow loads and moisture-related problems. Interlock Metal Roofing systems use heavy-gauge aluminum and include a lifetime limited 50-year transferable warranty designed for long-term protection.
Metal roofs in Deerfield typically cost more up front than asphalt shingles, but final price depends on roof size, slope, complexity (dormers, hips, valleys), tear-off, flashing, skylights, and labor. Deerfield’s long snowy season and substantial snowfall increase the value of metal roofing because steel/aluminum sheds snow and resists ice-dam damage; the area sees a prolonged snow period and notable seasonal accumulation. Freeze–thaw cycles and heavy snow loads are local factors that can raise installation complexity (reinforcement, underlayment, ventilation), affecting cost. Many homeowners compare lifetime value rather than initial price: durable metal systems often lower future repair and replacement expenses. Interlock Metal Roofing focuses on long‑term ownership value and durable systems rather than competing as a low‑cost option.
Deerfield sees significant winter exposure — roughly 50–60 in. of snow and a long snowy season with frequent freeze–thaw cycles — which increases snow loads and ice-dam risk. Lifespan: metal roofs typically last 40–70+ years; asphalt shingles 15–30 years. Maintenance: metal needs less regular attention (occasional fastener checks, clearing ice) while shingles require more frequent inspections, repairs, and eventual replacement after granule loss from freeze–thaw. Durability: metal resists snow, ice, and rot better; shingles are more vulnerable to ice dams, wind uplift, and accelerated wear. Long-term value: higher upfront cost for metal often pays back via longevity, lower maintenance, and avoided reroofing. Homeowners prioritizing durability and long-term protection often choose metal; budget-focused owners may prefer asphalt. Interlock Metal Roofing appeals in Deerfield for lasting performance, reliable snow shedding, and strong architectural curb appeal.
Many people in Deerfield, NH think metal roofs are loud in rain, but that’s a common myth. Modern residential metal roofs installed over solid decking don’t have the hollow, barn-like acoustics people imagine. Sound depends on the full roof assembly—insulation, attic space, underlayment, and deck all dampen noise—so a well-insulated, ventilated house will hear little difference compared with asphalt or tile. Installation quality matters: fastener technique, seam tightness, and added acoustic layers influence performance. Properly designed and installed residential metal roofing is typically similar in sound to other roofing materials. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are installed as complete roofing systems designed specifically for residential homes.
Yes — a metal roof can be energy efficient in Deerfield, NH. Metal roofing often has reflective coatings that reduce solar heat gain in summer, lowering cooling loads. Actual energy performance depends on the full roof assembly: underlayment, insulation levels, and ventilation strongly influence heat retention and moisture control. Because Deerfield has cold winters, heating savings may be smaller than cooling savings, but good insulation and ventilation still improve year‑round comfort and help prevent ice dams. Climate-driven factors — seasonal sun, snow load, and temperature swings — determine how much benefit you’ll see. Homeowners researching roof replacement often consider energy efficiency to cut utility bills, increase comfort, meet local codes, and boost resale value. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are designed to support long‑term home performance.
Deerfield, NH faces seasonal roof stresses—heavy snow and ice in winter, spring/summer thunderstorms with gusty winds and occasional hail, plus nor’easters and rapid freeze‑thaw cycles that strain roofing materials. Metal roofing performs well in wind, hail, and heavy weather when engineered correctly: wind‑rated panels and secure attachments resist uplift, interlocking profiles and quality underlayment limit water intrusion during storms, and heavier gauges or impact‑rated finishes reduce hail damage compared with asphalt. Performance depends on roofing system design, installation quality, and material durability. Homeowners prioritize weather resilience to avoid leaks, lower repair and insurance costs, and extend roof life. Interlock Metal Roofing systems are engineered for durability, hail protection, and wind resistance, but benefits require correct specification and professional installation. Local contractors can advise on the right gauge, finish, and fastening for Deerfield’s climate.
Corrosion and rust resistance in metal roofing depend largely on the metal type and protective finishes. Iron-based steels can corrode without coatings, while aluminum, stainless steel, and properly coated steels resist corrosion much better. Aluminum performs especially well in wet or coastal environments because it forms a protective oxide layer and does not rust like iron. Homeowners in Deerfield, NH should prioritize corrosion resistance to extend roof life, reduce maintenance, and avoid leaks or staining caused by rust. Interlock Metal Roofing Systems use aluminum construction designed for strong corrosion resistance, and they are further protected by the Alunar Coating System for extra durability and weather protection. Choosing materials with proven corrosion resistance helps safeguard your investment and maintain resale value.
Metal roofing in Deerfield, New Hampshire, is generally a low‑maintenance, durable choice. However, no roof is completely maintenance‑free: periodic inspections—after storms and at least seasonally—help catch issues early. Check for accumulated debris (leaves, pine needles), keep gutters clear, and inspect flashing, fasteners, and roof penetrations (vents, chimneys, skylights) for looseness, corrosion, or sealant failure. Heavy snow, ice, hail, wind events, and seasonal limb fall can cause damage or block drainage, so address damage or buildup promptly. With routine visual checks and timely minor upkeep, metal roofs deliver long service life and reliable protection for Deerfield homes while minimizing ongoing labor and repair costs.
In Deerfield, NH, metal roofing can increase home value. Buyers often prioritize durable, low‑maintenance roofs that reduce future repair costs and insurance concerns. Premium materials also enhance curb appeal, making a property more attractive on the local market. The long lifespan of metal systems gives buyers confidence in fewer replacements over time. Architectural style matters — choose a profile that complements your neighborhood’s character to avoid detracting from value. Interlock Metal Roofing systems offer multiple architectural profiles, including slate, cedar shingle, Mediterranean tile, shake, and standing seam, and are available in heavy‑gauge aluminum and solid copper. Properly specified and installed, metal roofing can be a visible, long‑term upgrade for Deerfield homes.
Yes — Interlock Metal Roofing Systems are compatible with solar panels when outfitted with custom solar brackets installed by Interlock Metal Roofing – New England. Deerfield experiences an extended snowy season and substantial snowfall, plus frequent freeze–thaw cycles that increase snow loads and stress on roof penetrations. Roof lifespan matters when adding solar: long‑lasting materials reduce the need to remove panels for roof replacement, so consider future solar plans when choosing or replacing a roof. Interlock systems are solar‑compatible and engineered to support secure mounting solutions, making them a strong option for Deerfield homeowners comparing durable roofing materials.

Calgary, AB Metal Roofing Review — 2008 Roof, Warranty Honoured & Same‑Day Repair

Review: May 13, 2026

Completion: May 30, 2008

After a relentless 12+ hour windstorm, our 18-year-old roof needed a repair. When I called to book it, that's when I learned the previous owner and my senior parents hadn't transferred the warranty when the house was bought 13 years ago. Despite that, the owners came out the very same day and honored it! The repair itself was simple — just two screws — but high up on the roof with a sloped ground below, making it tricky and time-consuming. First time in 18 years our roof has needed work, and their honesty, professionalism, and prompt service were incredible. Highly recommend this company!

This is the 3rd roof I've had installed by Interlock. I put one on my original house, my cottage, and now my new house. They have always done an excellent job, and the aluminum shingles are a great product — light, sturdy, and still looking good even years down the road.

I’ve had my interlock roof for 14 yrs and have had no issues with it until this last winter. We had heavier than normal snow and a lot of freeze thaw conditions. Several of the snow deflectors were pushed forward and lifted some of the roof. I emailed Dave and Tyler and repairs were made quickly . You can’t tell there was any concerns at all.

Metal Shingle Roof Review in Sudbury, ON (Interlock - Installed 2017)

Review: April 25, 2026

Completion: June 7, 2018

We had our roof replaced in 2017 with an aluminum roof by Interlock Metal Roofing. We live on the lake, and prior to the replacement, we were spending thousands of dollars every year because shingles would fly off in the wind.

We haven’t had any issues in the past 7 years. Our experience with Interlock Metal Roofing was excellent — they were very professional and did a beautiful job, even though our roof is quite high and challenging.

Our roof still looks beautiful, and we haven’t had to worry about it at all in the past 9 years.

Corvallis, OR Metal Shingle Roof Review — Interlock (Installed 2017)

Completion: November 9, 2017

I love my Interlock roof! No more climbing up to clean it, and no more gritty debris falling into my garden after a few years. It looks fantastic and performs exactly as it should.

The installers were excellent—knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and personable. Ivan is a gem! He handled a small flashing addition efficiently and cleaned the entire roof with a blower in no time.

After almost ten years, it’s still the only roof I would choose.

Interlock Metal Roof Review - Ramara, ON (Installed 2019)

Review: April 23, 2026

Completion: April 23, 2026

We are so happy with our interlock roof from Bruce. We had shopped around because we live on the lake with strong winds and we wanted a quality, long lasting product. Our roof has never changed colour and looks just as good now as the day it was installed. We also love the lifetime transferable warranty. We also love that it is made in Canada so there are no tariffs. Bruce was our sales person. He came right away, explained everything to us. We made the right decision not choosing shingles because of the environment and quality of the product. This was an affordable investment that was worth it. The crew was professional in every aspect. If I move, I will definitely be contacting Bruce again for another interlock roof.

Portland, OR Metal Shingles Review — Safety Anchors Installed 2019

Review: April 20, 2026

Completion: June 20, 2019

We’ve had our roof for about 7 years and have been very pleased with it. Recently, I scheduled gutter cleaning which was complicated by a run of wet weather which makes the roof very slippery. The gutter contractor asked if we had ever considered installing safety anchors. I didn’t know there was such a thing. I called Interlock and Ivan came by to take a look. He quickly determined appropriate locations for the anchors that the gutter cleaners could clip their safety harnesses to and showed me an example of the anchor itself. He also offered to paint them black to make them more inconspicuous on our dark roof. He returned about a week later for the install and afterwards showed us pictures of the anchors from the roof and pointed them out from the ground. Overall very professional, prompt, excellent service.

Interlock Metal Shingle Roof Review in Bay View, WI (Installed 2009)

Review: April 16, 2026

Completion: February 20, 2009

I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.

Interlock Metal Roofing Review in Saint Paul, AB — 50-Year Warranty (Installed 2025)

Review: April 15, 2026

Completion: August 31, 2025

We recently installed a new Interlock Roofing System, and we couldn’t be happier with the decision. Knowing it’s backed by a limited lifetime, non-prorated, fully transferable 50-year warranty gives us real peace of mind—it truly feels like a smart long-term investment. Mr. Yorman and his crew were outstanding from start to finish. Their commitment to customer service is second to none. They showed up exactly when they said they would and worked diligently until the job was completed. The finished product looks fantastic, and the cleanup was so thorough that our property actually looked better than before they arrived. A special mention to Tyler, who did an excellent job walking us through the benefits and helping us feel confident in choosing this system. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended!

We installed an Interlock roof in 2017. The roof is still like new. Due to an insulation issue and snow depth of over 4 feet, we had an ice build up problem. Ken, Greg and Cheri provided consultation and prompt service in addressing the addition of snow guards. Their knowledgable and friendly service was greatly appreciated. We highly recommend both the product and the team.

I recently had my 25 year old asphalt roof replaced with an Interlock Metal roof. I'm so very happy with my decision. In fact, best decision ever to have Interlock Industries install. The metal roof is manufactured in Delta, BC and they have their own installers. It's not panels! It looks very much like a cedar roof! Colour is awesome as well! My home is located in Victoria on Vancouver Island and looks great with my new roof! Interlock is a very professional business from contract signing to installation. Amazing crew that gets the job done in a timely manner. My roof looks fabulous. It's a work of art!!

Aurora, ON Metal Roofing Review — Interlock Installation (2016)

Review: April 13, 2026

Completion: May 3, 2016

We moved into our new house in 1984. Our new house came with new 25 year shingles. In 2004, 20 years later we noticed that our roof shingles needed to be redone. Now, back in 1984 they used asbestos in the roof shingles and although at the time they said they were 25 year shingles, we were still happy to get 20 years out of them. So, in 2004 we got a quote and had the roof re-shingled. We paid extra for the 25 year shingles as we had such a good result with the original shingles. In 2016 (i.e. 12 years later) my neighbour told us that our shingles on the south side of the house were cracked with rolled up edges and needed to be replaced. (We can't see the south roof of our house unless we are visiting the neighbours.) The shingles on the north side were still ok, but since you can't really shingle half a roof we knew that we had to have the whole roof done...after just 12 years. We were a little upset about this and decided to go to the National Home Show in Toronto to look at alternatives. We met Tom Watson at the Interlock Metal Roofing booth and he took a lot of time and explained the complete roofing system to us. We liked what we saw and what was explained to us and we arranged to have a home visit from Interlock and to give us a quote. The metal roof was certainly a lot more expensive than a regular asphalt shingle roof, but we decided to get the metal roof anyways because we did not want the hassle of having to re-shingle every 10 or 11 years...and there are also some other unforeseen benefits detailed below that we did not know about at the time. The metal roof comes with a Lifetime Limited Warranty, 50 year transferable, not prorated so even though more expensive it adds value to lyour home because if in the future you are looking to sell, the buyer knows he won't have any roof problems for the 50 year life of the roof. Your roof becomes an asset instead of a liability. The installation happened over 4-5 days. I paid a lot of attention to what they were doing and how they were doing it. The roof vents were removed. These are the same roof vents that raccoons like to rip off for access to your attic, so that potential problem went away. A ridge vent (google it) was installed on the top of the roof and it is low profile and fits in so you would not know that it is there. Raccoons have been known to chew a hole in asphalt shingles and roofing plywood to get into your attic. With a metal roof, it isn't happening. That mode of access is eliminated. Now, with our previous asphalt shingles we had constant problems with raccoons pooping on our roof (sound familiar?) and for some reason, at least for the last 10 years that we have had the metal roof, that has not happened. I don't know why, but I can speculate that the raccoons find the metal roof very slippery and they are not comfortable being up there and doing their business while trying not to slide off the roof. Also, in the past we have had squirrels occasionally make their way through, under, beside our asphalt shingles and get into our attic. That will never happen with a metal roof because the whole roof is sealed and northing is getting that way. If you are concerned about high winds ripping off your shingles you don't have to worry with a metal roof. Each and every metal shingle is fastened to the roof with aluminum screws (note the metal roof shingles are painted and baked to a tough finish) and they are interlocked with each other, so you may lose your entire roof in a hurricane, but the metal shingles will still be attached to it. We moved into our new house in 1984. After about 2 years of sweating through humid summers, we installed an A/C system. Our new A/C system worked ok in that it removed the humidity and cooled the house, but with the high 37 deg C temperatures it was struggling. The A/C would run continuously and never stopped on those hot days, but once the metal roof was installed it cycled on and off as designed. We highly recommend Interlock Metal Roofing.

Completion: May 30, 2016

We had our roofed replaced by Interlock Roofing in 2016. One of the best decisions we’ve ever made! Our roof looks like slate shingles but is entirely metal. We e received many compliments on it over the years Recently we had a lot of strong wind and hailstorms and our representative, John Mondeshean, checked in with us to see if we sustained any roof damage. He came out and inspected our roof for us within a day or two. Luckily we didn’t have any damage. I’ve been impressed by this company and their product from day one. John is the consummate professional. Our roof is now 10 years old and I still say it was the best investment! Highly recommend!

We have had this roof for about 17 years. We got hurricane strength winds and there has been no problems with the roof. We had 3 conventional shingle roof before and they had delaminated and blown in to other neighbors yards. Worth the money in our opinion.
