I will mention the issue regarding the use of gutter guards. If the both the salesman and the roofing foreman knew that the their standard method for a roof over would interfere with the install of gutter guards, the problem could of been addressed. If the old flashing was removed, rather than going over with the new flashing, there would not have been an issue.

“The new roof flashing/ starter strip was placed over the old flashing, and the new roof over hangs the gutter at least 1.50" more than it did. I was planning on installing gutter guards, but the exposed opening (top) of the gutter is now 3.5" at best and it should be 5" for the gutter guards. Also, the gutter hangers were lowered, and the new flashing covers them causing another issue with gutter guard installation.”

Neither of them mentioned the issues installing the new flashing/ starter strip over the old flashing would cause with gutter guards. When I noticed it after the roof was installed, I mentioned it to Jesse, and he said they installed it to Interlocks standard procedures. I am not happy that I can not use gutter guards now, and that neither John nor Jesse realized that the standard install would cause issues.”
