The installation crew mostly did a good job. They were careless during stripping as they damaged two lights, a vent pipe and some siding, which is still damaged. They were suppose to install two nails on each shingle which I paid extra for, but I had to remind them several times but am sure they did not, as I look in my attic and see there are areas where only one was installed. The estimate of my roof area was not accurate (10 squares more than my roof area. I told Michael Baldassari his estimate was off from the start) and Paul would not return my calls to speak to me about the errors - terrible customer service. I had to caulk areas that I found should have been done after the job was completed. The drip edge is not tight against my fascia in many areas. Many shingles are scratched. Where sidewall siding was removed, some was damaged, and fortunately I had some to replace it. I had to re-install some of the siding myself as it wasn't happening correctly is several instances. Interlock management refused to speak with me, for this reason alone I cannot recommend Interlock roofing to a friend. Estimate, work plan, and customer satisfaction not acceptable. Again, the installation crew mostly did a good job. Better communication. More careful stripping. Adhere to extra fasteners when paid for. More careful with siding (what would have happened if I didn't have siding to replace damaged.) Better job caulking. Better attention to details. Again, better communication or any communication at all, even after requesting it. I am a mechanical engineer and have built several houses myself including concrete form work, placing concrete, framing, roofing, siding, wiring, plumbing, insulation, sheet rock, finish trim, custom cabinets, flooring, etc. I know how to build things. I see everything when it comes to things not done correctly. I think that the installation was mostly done correctly but there are several areas that could have been done better. I see them, but probably most people would not see them. Should have consistent translator/job oversight person. I was led to believe the installation was to be done by Interlock, not a contractor. When shingles are started on the left side, the long pieces cut off (half and three quarters) should be used to end the rows and not be thrown away. Too much waste of materials.

Sales Punctuality

Sales Knowledge

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“Again, his estimate was off and he could not verify his estimate. I told him from the start the estimate was high and he said if it was off, it would be reconciled at the end. The roof area estimate was reduced but not to what is actual. Work plan was not accurate. I had to intervene with the crew in several instances to reconcile differences because of inaccurate work plan. In some cases they were not reconcilable. The work plan was hand drawn, did not represent my roof, and did not represent my discussions.”

Employees Professionalism

☆☆☆☆ Strongly disagree
“Jennifer was courteous, but Paul (don't know his last name) didn't have the decency to speak with me, even after asking Jennifer several times for him to call me. I could never get to speak with him or get his phone number or e-mail address to send him information. I sent this information to Jennifer but don't know if it ever got to Paul.”

Communication

☆☆☆☆ Strongly disagree
“Interlock management didn't have the decency to communicate with me. Information didn't flow through Jennifer to me.”

Installation Crew

★★★★ Agree
“See above. The installation crew worked hard and I am mostly satisfied with them.”

Quality Of Materials

★★★★ Agree
“I do like the materials for the most part. The roof caps should be shaped differently in order to be closer to the roof. The box vents are not of high quality.”

Quality Of Workmanship

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“See comments elsewhere. The crew should snap lines to ensure roof lines up better and interlocking is more uniform. Need to pay better attention to detail, especially with siding replacement at dormers and sidewall roofing.”

Clean & Safe

★★★★★ Strongly agree
“Did a good job cleaning up.”

Professional Completion

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“See comments elsewhere. Installation mostly professional, Interlock management unprofessional.”

Problem Resolution

☆☆☆☆ Strongly disagree
“Again, Paul would not speak with me. Michael Baldassari (estimator) did speak with me but we did not come to agreement on my roof area. I reluctantly went with a reduction in area, knowing it was still not correct. The work plan (not accurate) and estimate, which I have a copies of both, did not represent my roofs accurately (or my requests). Only one of the four roofs was correct. I sent a drawing and spreadsheet showing my actual roofs with areas. Nobody commented on my drawing or roof area calculations. Work plan is hand drawn and was inaccurate. Doesn't Interlock know about CAD drawings, or at least accurate mechanical drawings?”
