I really really want to love my roof, I really do, and I'm almost there, only time will tell for sure. Roofs are an expensive investment literally on your most important asset. You need to have a product you can trust installed correctly to protect you, your assets in the home, and your family. You have choices on what kind of roof to put on and costs all over the place. Interlock aluminum roofing is not cheap, was not the most expensive quote I got, nor the lowest. The things that sold me were material, as aluminum will not rust, and being in Washington state, we get rain often so this was a factor. And then their warranty claims, which sadly I was lied directly to my face by their sales reps. Now don't get me wrong, their warranty is still very good, it was represented to me as even better than it actually is which really pisses me off. Had the sales reps told me the truth, I think I'd still have gone with their product because as I said their warranty is still very good. I hope the product does its job and I never have to use the warranty, that's the real goal here. Better communication, when crew was to arrive, when they would leave, if they leave will they return again that day.

Sales Punctuality

Sales Knowledge

★★★★ Agree
“I understand sales job is to make a sale, so they have to say everything in a positive light and don't want to even converse on anything that might be negative which can jeopardize the sale. But it would have been nice to have a more realistic time frame for the install. A crew of 2 who have to manually hammer in hundreds of nails, are going to take more than 2 days to install. Speaking of, would have been nice to know they would be hammering as I work from home, I was expecting quick nail gun discharges, not pounding for hours on end for a week. Also the product warranty was misrepresented to me. I was told my warranty is as long as I own my home, and when I sell it, the next owner gets 50 years. I was just provided the actual fine print (yes partially my fault for believing the sales person and not demanding to read it before signing the contract) and I get a 50 year warranty, the next owner can pay $300 for the remainder of that time frame but do not get labor included. And yes this warranty absolutely affected my decision when making my purchase, the idea that I would have a fantastic warranty that could also be a selling point later was just the sales person blowing smoke up my ass and I don't appreciate being lied to.”

Communication

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“Project start date changes were communicated well from the office. Start and end times of the crew were not communicated, and when they were, they were not accurate. Also the crew seemed surprised when they found rotten wood on the eaves, but this was clearly documented to be replaced in the contract, and caused a delay as the crew had to get plywood from local store as they did not have it on site for the job.”

Installation Crew

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“See previous questions comments. They didn't speak the best English, so communication was difficult but we usually got our points across.”

Quality Of Materials

★★★★ Agree
“I am impressed with the underlayment product, was a nice surprise when I got to see it in person. The high quality of it compared to roofing felt paper, should be another item the sales team carries with them to show the customer along with the roofing tiles themselves.”

Quality Of Workmanship

★★★★ Agree
“Hard to speak to this, as I'm not about to get up on the roof for safety concerns to check their work. From the ground it seems fine, then again I'm not an expert. Also never having a roof like this, I have no experience to draw from. I asked the installation manager when he come out how many nails the crew should have been putting on each tile, and he stated 2, which it seemed like they were doing.”

Clean & Safe

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“One day the crew was onsite only an hour then left abruptly. They left garbage and sharp metal debris all around the house and on the roof. That night high winds blew more material off the roof. Also even once the job was fully done, I have still found sharp metal shards in flower beds that were covered up by leaf's.”

Problem Resolution

☆☆☆☆ Strongly disagree
“Never got a reasonable explanation why the crew left early from the installation manager. Also the manager took 2 window screens that were damaged during install of the roof to have the screens replaced. I have yet to get those screens back, has been over 1 month.”

Schedule

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Was told by sales rep takes 1 day to remove old roof, and 2-3 to install new roof, weather dependent. The crew of 2, took the old roof off the back of the home, then put new roof on that side, then removed the rest of the roof, then slowly put new roof on the rest. Total install time took 8 days (7 of which they were on site).”
