What our customers are saying:
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!
To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />
Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!
Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!
Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.
Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.
Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.
My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.
I love my new roof. It looks great and I know the house is in better shape without the heavy deteriorating asphalt shingles. My house is the only one on the block with no snow on the roof, and I can't wait to hear it in the rain
We are delighted with the workmanship and quality of our new roof. It has exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend an Interlock Roof to anyone looking to replace an old roof.
Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Eureka Center
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Eureka Center, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Eureka Center.
How does metal roofing handle Minnesota's snow and ice buildup?
Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth surface prevents adhesion that traps moisture. With about 96 cm of snow per year in Eureka Center, your roof sheds seasonal loads rather than absorbing them like asphalt. The lightweight design—the Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft—means no added structural burden even after heavy accumulation. Snow guards are available if you want to manage runoff toward gutters, but the aluminum's natural shedding properties mean fewer ice dams forming at the eaves during the region's approximately 82 freeze-thaw cycles yearly.
Will freeze-thaw cycles in Minnesota damage my metal roof?
No—Interlock aluminum roofing is engineered specifically for freeze-thaw durability. The 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 roofing-grade aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) expands and contracts cleanly without cracking, splitting, or curling, even through Eureka Center's typical 82 freeze-thaw days annually. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating bonds to both panel sides, protecting against the oxidation that occurs when water penetrates traditional materials. Four-way interlocking seams mean ice expansion within the roof system is nearly eliminated, and aluminum's non-porous nature prevents water absorption that would cause delamination.
Can a metal roof rust in Minnesota's humid, snowy climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that corrodes in steel roofing. Instead, aluminum develops a thin oxide layer that actually self-heals when scratched, making it ideal for Minnesota's wet climate. Eureka Center receives about 831 mm of rain annually, exposing your roof to constant moisture. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (both sides) adds a 30-year warranted barrier against corrosion, but the aluminum substrate itself remains immune to rust indefinitely. Many Interlock installations in coastal salt-air environments and Antarctica prove the material's durability in extreme corrosive conditions—Minnesota's freshwater exposure is far gentler.
Are metal roofs safe in high winds common to Minnesota?
Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to withstand wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), well above Eureka Center's typical gusts of 97 km/h. The mechanical interlock between adjacent panels distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone, which is why the system achieves this high rating. Each profile—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, and Standing Seam—maintains identical wind performance. When installed to specification, the panels remain secured even during severe convective storms. Your roof won't lift, rattle, or separate, giving you peace of mind through Minnesota's spring and fall storm seasons.
What protection does metal roofing offer against hail damage?
Interlock panels carry UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rigorous testing means the aluminum panels absorb and disperse hail energy without denting easily or allowing water penetration. Many insurance carriers offer discounts for Class 4 impact-rated roofing, so verify with your provider whether your premium may decrease. During Eureka Center's storms, when hail occurs alongside typical gusts of 97 km/h, your roof resists both impacts and wind-driven uplift simultaneously. The combination of aluminum's inherent toughness and the four-way interlock system means you avoid the costly claim cycles that plague traditional asphalt shingles.
Do I need to reinforce my house structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed—Interlock's extraordinary light weight eliminates that cost. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates heavy clay or concrete tile, installs at approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft and is about 96% lighter than the material it resembles. Your existing framing can support the aluminum roof, and you can often install new panels directly over your current asphalt shingles, avoiding costly tear-off and disposal. This is a major advantage in Minnesota, where harsh winters and spring rains create ideal conditions for existing roofs to fail; you gain a new, durable surface without the structural investment that concrete or slate would require. Installation stays simple and your project timeline shortens accordingly.
Can a metal roof help lower cooling costs in summer?
Yes—Interlock's energy-efficient colors are engineered to reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, reducing cooling demand. Select profiles achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they bounce summertime heat away rather than trapping it in your attic. While Eureka Center's climate averages only about 3,138 sunshine hours annually (well below regions with extreme cooling loads), every hour of summer sun reduces your air-conditioning runtime. Cool Roof Rating Council verification confirms these reflectance properties persist over time, protecting your investment. Over a roof's 50+ year lifespan, the cumulative energy savings add meaningful value, especially as electricity rates rise.
How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt?
Interlock aluminum roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or tile. Unlike asphalt, which loses granules, cracks, and curls within 15–20 years, aluminum never splits, rots, or becomes brittle from Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles (about 82 annually). The Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists algae and moss growth better than traditional shingles, reducing the need for pressure washing. The smooth, interlocked panel design sheds debris and ice without trapping moisture, so gutters remain clear and ice dams form less often. Occasional gutter maintenance and inspection after severe storms is standard; that's it. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden, meaning you recoup installation costs through avoided repairs and replaced shingles over decades.
What does the warranty cover, and how long does metal roofing actually last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's also one-time transferable: the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion, adding measurable resale value. Unlike prorated asphalt warranties that diminish yearly, you're protected equally throughout your ownership. The Alunar coating itself carries a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (verified by ASTM D4214 and D2244 testing). Field installations dating to 1998 in Delta, BC, plus deployments from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations, demonstrate that aluminum panels routinely exceed 50 years. In Eureka Center's 831 mm annual rainfall and moderate climate, expect your roof to outlast three asphalt roofs—likely the last roof you'll ever buy.
How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?
Installation timeline is typically 2–4 days depending on roof size and complexity, because panels interlock quickly without extensive fastening. Many homeowners can keep living in their home during installation, and you avoid the two-stage cost and inconvenience of tear-off plus disposal. Because Interlock profiles are extraordinarily lightweight—the Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft and Tile at 0.59—you often install directly over existing asphalt without structural reinforcement. This approach is verified under ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for current IBC/IRC codes). Your local Interlock installer, serving the region since 2001, will assess your roof's condition and explain whether attachment to existing sheathing or removal is best for your home. Either way, the process is faster and less disruptive than traditional roofing.
