They have a high-grade quality product. The only thing that could have been communication with the delivery of the dumpster, but that is very minor. I really appreciated Interlock Roofing for working with us. I am looking for people every day to recommend the company to them. It might have been slightly expensive, but it was well worth the value.

Larry's personality changed from friendly to cold & almost angry when I told him I had other companies to meet with before I made any decision on my roofing job. He couldn't leave quick enough after that.

Review: April 14, 2016 Completion: March 19, 2016

To answer #13 fairly. I received a call Friday am @ work, asking if they could schedule a dumpster delivery & possibly start work. When I came home that evening 1/2 to 3/4 of the roof was completed. My wife had received a message too from the install crew (broken english-hard to understand). Unfortunately, we did not have time to prepare our dogs, who were inside going nuts all day! Very quick, super happy about that. It just came as a surprise if not abrupt. But, the bottom line it was done quickly & a lovely product. I wish the work crew spoke better English, there work was great, however, I did have to mention that some trash had blown into the woods (windy conditions)& that I had picked up nails in the driveway on the Saturday morning. Sharp looking roof!

They could have improved on the safety of the gutters, picking the sign up and creating access for us to get on the roof. We have our chimney cleaned several times during the year, and we don't know how we're going to get on the roof.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value We loved the roof so much after they did our house that we called them to come back and roof the barn too. It’s a beautiful roof and gets lots of comments, and the 50-year warranty is great! The install crew works hard and leaves the yard spotless. Service: Roof installation

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Deering

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Deering, New Hampshire. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Deering.

How does a metal roof handle 120+ cm of snow per winter in Deering?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface prevents moisture from bonding. Deering averages about 154 cm of snow annually with roughly 93 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that crack and curl asphalt shingles. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels stay rigid through those repeated temperature swings. Snow guards can be installed if you want to manage shedding. The lightweight design (Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement, even under heavy snow load.

Why does freeze-thaw weather in New Hampshire ruin asphalt but not metal?

Asphalt absorbs moisture and expands when it freezes, then contracts as it thaws—this cycle cracks and curls the shingles. Metal doesn't absorb water. Deering experiences approximately 93 freeze-thaw days yearly and about 954 mm of rain, creating ideal conditions for asphalt failure. Interlock aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 3105-H24/3003-H24) maintains its shape through unlimited cycles. The material's oxide layer self-heals when scratched, so exposure doesn't compromise durability. You're installing a roof that outlasts the freeze-thaw pattern, not the other way around.

Can an aluminum metal roof rust in a wet New England climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. The protective oxide layer forms instantly when aluminum is exposed to air and heals itself when scratched. Steel roofs require paint maintenance to prevent rust staining that spreads down walls. Interlock uses roofing-grade aluminum with a 30-year Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides. Coastal research stations to Antarctic bases use this material—Deering's 954 mm annual rainfall poses no corrosion risk. You'll never repaint or treat this roof to prevent rust.

Does a metal roof reduce hail damage risk in a way that saves on insurance?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurance companies recognize this non-combustible, impact-resistant material and offer premium discounts; ask your agent about metal roof credits before installation. Regional wind gusts near 109 km/h combined with hail risk make impact resistance valuable. A Class 4 aluminum roof won't dent from typical Deering storm conditions and eliminates the cycle of hail claims that asphalt invites.

Will a metal roof stay on during Deering's worst wind storms?

Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Deering's typical wind gusts reach about 109 km/h with occasional stronger events—well within the roof's rating. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof system. This mechanical interlock prevents the progressive peel-back that separates nailed-down shingles. Code compliance (ICC-ES ESR-1790) confirms the installation method. Your roof won't fail because of New England wind.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost versus asphalt over 50 years?

Metal roofs cost more upfront but eliminate the replacement cycle. Asphalt lasts 15–25 years and requires two or three tear-offs, disposal, and reinstalls over a 50-year period. Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, with a one-time transfer covering the next owner for 50 years. You avoid landfill costs, labor inflation over decades, and roof disruption to your home. Current promotion: no payments, no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation. The math favors one permanent roof over three temporary ones.

What does Interlock's warranty actually cover and how long does it last?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner, who receives 50 years of coverage from project completion. There's no prorated phase; claims are covered the same way in year 50 as year one. The 30-year coating warranty (Alunar PVDF, tested to ASTM D4214/D2244) separately guarantees no chalking or fading. Combined with aluminum's inherent durability through Deering's 93 annual freeze-thaw cycles, you're protected for the life of your home and beyond.

With 950+ mm of rain per year, how does a metal roof prevent leaks?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels overlap and lock together, shedding water sideways and down before it can pool or seep through seams. Deering's 954 mm annual rainfall requires a roof that doesn't absorb water—metal achieves this instantly. Proper deck preparation, underlayment, and flashing (installed per ESR-1790) complete the system. Unlike asphalt that softens and channels water into seams, or wood shingles that cup and trap moisture, aluminum stays rigid and sheds. The solid contact between locked panels and the structure below creates a unified drainage plane.

Can Interlock install over my existing roof, or do I need a tear-off in Deering?

Interlock can install over most existing roofs without tear-off—the lightweight Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is needed. A tear-off is sometimes chosen for inspection or to remove multiple old layers. Installation timeline varies with weather and roof complexity; Deering's average of about 3,057 sunshine hours per year provides adequate working windows. Your local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc., has served the region since 1999 and can assess your roof structure and recommend the most economical path forward during a site visit.

Is aluminum roofing truly recycled and recyclable, or just marketing?

Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life—it returns to the materials loop indefinitely without degradation. Asphalt shingles end up in landfills; a typical tear-off generates 10 tons of waste per roof. Deering homeowners who choose metal break that cycle. The aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and Alunar coating are both established recycling streams with real economic value. Installing once and keeping the roof for 50+ years eliminates the energy cost of multiple tear-offs, transport, and replacement labor. Recyclability combined with longevity is the actual environmental advantage.
