I never really thought I could be thrilled about a roof, but I have to tell you; our new Interlock roof is beautiful! It adds true elegance to our home. We know it adds value as well, and the fact that we will never need to re-roof again is a definite advantage. Everyone within our organization, from the initial phone contact to the installation crew, was courteous and pleasant to work with. The install went smoothly and the crew kept the site clean from beginning to end. Everybody we have shown our Interlock roof to has seemed quite impressed also. We would (and in fact have already done so) recommend Interlock Roofing to others.

Review: May 16, 2017Completion: April 10, 2017

We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Kansasville

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Kansasville, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Kansasville.

Will metal roofing hold up to Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions. Unlike asphalt shingles, which crack and curl after repeated expansion and contraction, aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched, and the material has no moisture absorption that causes splitting. Kansasville experiences roughly 80 freeze-thaw cycles per year, making this durability essential. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating are engineered for exactly this stress. The Guardian warranty covers cracking and curling for the original owner's lifetime.

How does a metal roof handle Wisconsin snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofing's smooth surface actually prevents snow and ice from sticking as effectively as asphalt, reducing ice-dam risk in Kansasville's typical 82 cm annual snowfall. The four-way interlocking panels distribute loads evenly, and aluminum's lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means your structure supports far more snow mass than the material itself weighs. Optional snow guards can be installed if you prefer to control shedding. With about 835 mm of annual rainfall and significant winter precipitation, this shedding behavior protects gutters and foundations from freeze-thaw damage.

Why is aluminum better than steel for roofing in wet climates?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—ever. Steel rusts because iron oxidizes; aluminum's oxide layer actually protects the underlying metal and self-heals when scratched. In Kansasville's 835 mm annual rainfall, this matters. Interlock panels also receive Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating on both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. That dual-side protection is critical in wet environments. Steel roofing requires ongoing maintenance to prevent rust staining and perforation; aluminum eliminates this concern entirely over its lifetime.

Can metal roofing survive Kansasville's wind gusts?

Your region experiences gusts up to about 99 km/h, and Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking design means each panel locks to its neighbors on all sides, creating a unified system that channels wind stress across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This interlocking geometry, combined with proper fastening, exceeds the UL wind testing standard. Even extreme gusts Kansasville may encounter are well within the system's rated capacity.

What hail rating does Interlock metal roofing have?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4, the highest impact rating available—meaning it withstands steel ball impacts up to 1.5 inches at 51.6 mph without cracking or loss of weathertightness. The warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to that size. Because aluminum is non-combustible and rated Class A for fire, plus resistant to the physical damage that typically voids asphalt warranties, many insurers offer discounts on Interlock-roofed homes. Check with your carrier about potential savings when you install a metal roof that meets Class 4 impact standards.

Do I need to reinforce my roof frame for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shake 0.58, and even the Mediterranean Tile—which looks like traditional clay or concrete tile—weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft. That's roughly 96% lighter than actual tile, so your home's framing carries less load than it already does under asphalt shingles. Interlock installs directly over most existing roofs, avoiding the labor and cost of tear-off. This lightweight advantage is especially valuable in climates like Kansasville with 82 cm of annual snow—the roof itself takes up almost no load budget, leaving room for actual snow accumulation.

How much maintenance does Interlock metal roofing actually need?

Metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or traditional tile. Asphalt shingles need moss treatment, gutter cleaning after every snowmelt and storm, and inspection for granule loss and curling—especially after Kansasville's roughly 80 annual freeze-thaw cycles. Wood shakes rot and split. Tile cracks in freeze-thaw. Interlock aluminum sheds debris naturally, resists algae and moss growth, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking or fading. Most owners simply rinse the roof annually. No sealing, no recoating, no major repairs—just a last roof you'll ever install.

What warranty comes with Interlock roofing, and how long will it last?

The Guardian warranty provides a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty to the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. This structure reflects Interlock's confidence in aluminum's actual lifespan—50+ years is typical, with proper installation. Over that span, Kansasville's 835 mm annual rainfall and 82 cm snow won't degrade the material. A single replacement of asphalt shingles every 15–20 years costs thousands; Interlock's transferable guarantee means you'll likely never reroof again, and the next owner gets decades of protection too.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Yes, when you calculate the total cost of ownership over your roof's life. Asphalt shingles cost less initially but fail every 15–20 years in freeze-thaw climates like Kansasville, where roughly 80 cycles per year accelerate curling and cracking. A typical home replaces asphalt twice or three times—three tear-offs, three sets of disposal fees, three rounds of labor. Interlock's higher initial cost is offset by installing once and transferring a 50-year warranty to your home's next owner. Over 50 years, that's dramatically cheaper. You also avoid ongoing maintenance, gutters don't clog with asphalt granules after every snowmelt, and insurance discounts on Class 4-rated, fire-resistant roofing can begin paying back the investment immediately.

Is aluminum roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Significantly. Interlock aluminum is roughly 95% recyclable at end of life, meaning it re-enters the aluminum supply chain rather than a landfill. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are removed every 15–20 years and typically landfilled—millions of tons annually in North America. Over 50 years, one Interlock installation replaces two or three asphalt roofs, avoiding three tear-off cycles and three trips to the dump. Aluminum's lightweight design also means lower transportation energy. Interlock panels are manufactured in Delta, BC, and installed over existing roofs without tear-off, further reducing waste and carbon. If Kansasville's 835 mm annual rainfall and freeze-thaw conditions force your asphalt roof to fail twice in your ownership, choosing metal eliminates that waste cycle entirely.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Kansasville’s climate?

Yes. Kansasville averages about 82 cm of snow, 835 mm of rain, roughly 80 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 99 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
