1. The project experienced major delays due to a spring snow storm. What was supposed to be a one-week job ended up being close to 4 weeks from drop-off to finish. This was an inconvenience, and we would have been happier to have had the project NOT start until after the weather improved. Because of the weather, the job appeared to be rushed at times, leaving us questioning the quality of the workmanship. The crew admitted several times that the snow was in fact making the job tough to complete. We also feel that the mess left behind in yard, and the the debris that continues to blow off of the roof and wash down my downspouts is a result of the rush to finish the job. We had to pick up 2 full bags of debris, sharp metal filings, nails, old shingles etc that kept melting out of the snow. The offer was made to have the crew return to pick up the garbage and debris, but at that time we had already cleaned it up ourselves. With 3 small children, this was a big safety issue for us, especially all of the nails and bits of metal in the grass - to the point of us having the yard swept with a metal detector. Part of the reason we choose Interlock was that we were assured by Neil in the sales process that the installers were exceptionally careful and the the typical mess experienced in a roofing job would not be experienced. 2. Upon completion, we had minor issues with some of the small finishing touches, specifically in the area over the garage. We felt the silicon was initially poorly applied and our vinyl siding was poorly trimmed. The head installer returned to the job and satisfactorily addressed the silicon and siding issue. However, he also mentioned at this time that due to the cold weather, they did not properly remove the siding because of fear to the siding cracking and breaking, leading to them cutting the siding to install the flashing. In our opinion, this led to a less quality finish than we expected. This could have been avoided if the project was completed in better weather conditions. 3. One other issue was that the baton boards around the windows were removed to install the roof. In the process they were chipped in a few places. The head installer attempted to resolve the issue by painting the chipped parts of the boards. Unfortunately the paint was not an exact match. We felt that the batons should have been fully replaced and painted so that there would be less of a splotchy effect due to the mismatched paint. Since it wasn't completely resolved we were left to deal with Rodney. Our exchange with Rodney left us feeling that he was annoyed with us for nitpicking a minor issue. We felt that for the price we paid, that our expectations were justified. Overall, we were not impressed with his customer service, demeanour, or approach with us. It was quite different from all of the other exchanges we had with the rest of the Interlock team.
