“We waited a long time before hearing anything about installing, even weeks after the material was delivered. Finally we were given a date, then on that day they called to make it a week later. Then on the expected day, a crew came, then left and rather than come to the door to talk to me, a guy named Nick phoned to tell me he couldn't do it. I heard nothing from Interlock, no apology or assurance. I called "customer service" which was just an answering service hired out & had no answers or help for me. So I phoned our salesman Derek who didn't know anything but said he would send an email to someone. This caused us to worry and wonder why Interlock would send out an inexperienced crew in the first place. I phoned the # on the contract, left a message with Anna. Two days later a Shawna called, left a quick message that a different installer would call us soon. The next week we got a call from Elias. He showed up a day earlier than he said, but that was ok. At least we knew it would be getting done. So I would say, Interlock needs to work on their customer service. Get rid of the answering service & communicate better within the company.”

However this left his two guys who were less experienced to do the work, which took a lot longer & was harder on them.”

“Our back entrance was blocked for a few days with old shingles, nails & debris, could've been a fire hazard if our family needed to escape. Rubbage was left all over as they worked, plastic and cardboard blew into neighbours yards. They left their tools out everywhere, my husband moved some after they left one night so they wouldn't get snowed on. I made sure my kids wouldn't go outside. They had the disposal bin dropped off on the street in front of our house close to a stop sign, even though I told them to put it in the back yard. Then the guy had to come back & move it to where it should've been. I took photos everyday of the progress. Often the guys did not wear harnesses, though I don't want to get anyone in trouble, it was kinda disconcerting. I asked if they cleaned up the nails, they told me someone went around with a magnet. I know this was not true, and when the job was done, I went around the house myself and found over 100 old rusty nails, as well as shiny new ones they used & little sharp bits of aluminum. This bothers me as I have pets and two little kids. Now I have to go buy a metal detector to go over the yard again in the spring, as I'm sure there's still more.”
