After receiving a lien in error and not having much cooperation in rectifying the manner, we would currently hesitate in recommending the product... too much stress with the process. (1) This was a new build. We were assured that the installers will be able to prep for the installation from the architectural drawings. They decided at the last minute that they couldn't. This dragged our projected install date from fall/winter into the spring. We ended up with an unexpected charge of $1000 for a temporary membrane. (Our contractor ended up getting it done for less.) It would have been helpful to mention this when we were signing the contract in the fall. (2) Since it was a new build and insulation/drywall was not installed, we saw that there were quite a bit of leaks after the roof install. The crew was very attentive in coming back to fix the leaks. (3) We received legal notification of a lien on our home, prior to receiving an invoice for the job. As soon as the invoice was received, we wrote the cheque. It "didn't make it" so my husband had to cancel the original and "hand deliver" another. Weeks later, the original was received. We have been pressing for documentation that the lien has been lifted. Yesterday, we were sent the application for the removal of the lien but no official legal documentation that it has been lifted. We were told we can do our own verification to ensure that our credit score has not been affected. This last part has left us stressed and upset. We would recommend that the staff issuing the lien check for documentation prior to issuing this paperwork. This caused us a lot of stress and sleepless nights. We would also recommend that the cheque be picked up in person by an employee of the company (like we've seen with other contractors).
