Metal Shingles Ottawa, ON Review

Cleanup - found strips of cut shingles on top of the hedge and in the flower beds. Also a few pieces of cut aluminum, a possible hazard for small children. Also found pieces of cut shingle in the gutters, more problematic to clean up for an older person than material left on the ground. My view is that all flashing should have been replaced; just putting a lot of caulk over the old flashing around the electrical pole did not seem like the best plan. Barry indicated that two new vents would be installed on the garage roof. Although they were delivered, the crew simply replaced the existing vent and took the new vents away with them. This was a surprise which I did not discover until after they had departed. Neighbors have remarked that mine is now the best looking roof in the area and I am certainly pleased with the appearance. Noise during rain is about the same as with the asphalt shingles, although perhaps slightly higher pitched. It would have been helpful had the website indicated that there were different prices for some colors, since it was a surprise to find that the one I had selected before Barry's arrival was more expensive.
