I'm not sure. See my comments under #9. Several people have stopped to inquire about our roof. I explain why we chose to spent $33,000 on a roof, but also share my experiences with the installation. Again, I'm not satisfied that the compensation I received off-sets the aggravation, disruption and damage. I don't even know where to start. It seemed like it should have been a pretty straight forward installation that ended up being a mis-managed mess. Having a competent crew (that speaks English) is absolutely essential when they are working remotely (100 miles from the local office). While we were having problems with our installation, I reached out to the home office in Canada. I left my name, number and concerns. No one ever called me back. I would appreciated it if someone would call me to discuss the issues we had and whether or not anything can be done to improve our experience. Jim Longworth - 860-830-4168

Employees Professionalism

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“Paul (the sales guy) was competent during the sale. However, our interaction after the sale was minimal. Jen in the local office does and excellent job and really is the key person with regard to customer issues. My experience with Paul, the office manager, was an entirely different story. We experience a lot of delays and problems during our installation. I was shocked that the a manager could have allowed an inferior crew continue to work on our roof as long as he did without intervening. This roof installation took 5 weeks. Our original estimate was 1-2 weeks (also see comments under installation).Paul (the local office manager) and I had a serious disagreement about what was adequate compensation for damage caused by the first crew assigned to our roof. He suggested that some "additional work" would be adequate for ceiling and wall damage of three rooms. He said I agreed. I did not. I'm sure I would not have agreed to anything until the job was complete. In the end, our conversation devolved to a shouting match where we agreed to $1000 off the price. I still do not think this was adequate compensation. However, after 5 weeks of disruption, I wanted the process over.”

Communication

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“Jen does and excellent job. She appears to be the key person in the process. However, there were days when we were not informed whether or not the workers would be on-site. Could not communicate with the first crew at all. Second crew was better, but not all of them were comfortable communicating with me.”

Installation Crew

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“The first crew was unacceptable and it took quite a while and several phone calls to convince the home office. Their The The first crew supervisor (Gallo) would drop off the workers and leave the remainder of the crew unsupervised. I couldn't communicate issues and concerns because none of the remaining crew spoke English. Their schedule was sporadic (at best). They would say they were coming, then not show-up... They left the roof exposed prior to rain storm which ultimately caused water damage in 3 rooms. Second crew assigned to the job were much better, but still required that the local service guy come address a couple of issues.”

Quality Of Materials

“I was very concerned about the use plastic vents used. Only time will tell.”

Clean & Safe

★★☆☆☆ Disagree
“First crew was horrible. They didn't always use tarps when removing the old roof and as a result, crushed decorative bushes, damaged siding and aluminum trim. Found nails all over the yard.Second crew was much better.”

Professional Completion

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“See other comments. We were excited about getting the roof installed. However, our installation experience tarnished the our feelings about the outcome. I sure hope we don't have any problems...”

Problem Resolution

★★★☆☆ Neutral
“I don't believe the local office took my concerns about the first crew seriously enough, early enough, to have avoided some of the issues we had. We could have avoided the damage we experienced if they had listened to my concerns earlier.Local service guy in Connecticut (don't remember his name) was very good. Prompt, knowledgeable and courteous.”
