What our customers are saying:
Jonathan was great help getting us all the information needed for the roof and what to expect, and the whole process. The installation was fast, the roofers were hard working and professional. The look of the metal roof is superb!
It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.
I am writing to share how pleased I am with my Interlock Roof. When the original presentation was made, I knew I was getting a premium roof, but I had no idea the finished product would be so beautiful. I was also quite impressed with the installers. They were pleasant, respectful, conscientious, and courteous. As you may recall, my ">roof was one that required the old roof be removed because the original roof was wood shakes which were covered by at least 3 layers of asphalt. Those men gave 110% each and every day of the 14 days it took them to remove the original roof, replace it with plywood, and then install the Interlock roof. Many of those days were very " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot and humid, but that didn't seem to have any effect on them. They would work from early in the morning until after 6 or 7 PM, always cleaning the yard before they left for the day. It amazed me that they were so thorough in their cleanup each day that I could have used my yard for entertaining in the evening. I would encourage anyone with questions about whether Interlock delivers what they promise to contact me directly. I would be more than happy to answer questions by phone or in person, if someone wants to schedule a time to come by the house. Interlock stood by their commitment to insure I was satisfied with the work and end product. Choosing Interlock was a decision I'm glad I made. Thanks again!
I just wanted to take a moment to commend Interlock on a great product and thank you personally for your follow through after installation. I am pleased with the roof overall because it's good looking and works well. I get compliments about the new roof frequently. The description you provided of what to expect from beginning to end and what was delivered was consistent. This is such a simple thing to do but a surprising number of companies simply don't execute on their promises so I was pleased with the end result Interlock provided. The crew that removed my old roof and installed the new one was courteous and professional. They did a good job of cleaning up the job site each day and obviously take pride in their work. The only thing I would say was a drawback is that I had filled out the customer satisfaction survey before the dumpster was removed from my front yard. After the dumpster was removed I discovered two long indentations on my front lawn over a foot deep caused by the weight of the fully loaded dumpster. When I called you about it, you said you would correct it and now it has been corrected. This sort of customer service is what really separates companies that are in it for the long haul. I appreciate your follow up and the fact that you were able to correct the only item where I was not completely satisfied. I recommend Interlock to anyone considering a roof replacement based on the merits of the product alone. I had done a good amount of research in Consumer Reports on the longevity of different roof types as you know so there was no question in my mind that I wanted a metal roof but I didn't know how nice the end result would turn out. Your product combined with outstanding customer service is an unmatched offering. Consider me a reference for other potential customers curious about the experience they had with Interlock
Dear Interlock: I am writing to tell you how delighted I am with my new Interlock roof. The dark red color complements the historic features of this 1870 house, and the material is most appropriate for a house of this vintage. I also want you to know how pleased I am with the job that the installer did. The foreman. Rick Ortiz, and his workers, Wilden Perez, Juan Carlos Cordero, and Ruben Alvarenda, were a pleasure to work with. I didn't realize until I watched them work how complicated my roof is, with all its intersecting dormers, porches, hidden valleys and bay windows. They worked very skillfully and carefully to waterproof all these vulnerable edges, and did an excellent job. They were especially neat, cleaning up each day and overall at the end. Thank you Interlock for a great job!
I had my roof done by Interlock Roofing and I want to say that it is very good. The snow does not stay on the roof. This winter I look at other homes in my neighborhood and found that my roof was the first to be free of snow! I am happy about that. Many people have asked about roof They like the way it looks, so they stop to see what kind it is. All I can say is "It Works for Me!"
My husband and I would like to commend you, your organization, and the workers hired to install our new roof. We are not only delighted with how it has enhanced the look of our property, but also how it has helped with our heating costs this winter. Everything you told us at the time of the sale has come true: It certainly has enhanced the look of our property - we get people stopping to look and question almost every day, It was completed on time by workers who were not only fast, but quite meticulous with the work they performed. We will be receiving a $5OO check within two weeks to reward us for keeping an Interlock sign on our property which promoted the sale of another roof to a neighbor. Your continuous contact during and after to ensure our satisfaction. Again, Thanks

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Farmington
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Farmington, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Farmington.
Will a metal roof hold up through Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes. Farmington experiences about 72 freeze-thaw days per year, and aluminum's non-porous structure means water cannot penetrate and expand inside the material the way it does in asphalt or wood. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) has no internal voids to trap moisture. When ice melts and refreezes on your roof, the metal itself won't crack, split, or degrade. The four-way interlocking panels shed water before it can pool, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating—warranted 30 years—protects against weathering throughout those seasonal swings.
How does an Interlock metal roof handle heavy snow and ice in Connecticut?
Farmington averages about 65 centimeters of snow annually, and Interlock's lightweight panels (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58) pose no snow-load risk—no structural reinforcement needed. The smooth, hard aluminum surface resists ice adhesion better than asphalt, which traps moisture and creates thick ice dams. Optional snow guards are available and install easily into the panel profile. The metal's thermal conductivity also helps snow slide naturally during freeze-thaw cycles, reducing dangerous buildup that compromises gutters and walls.
Does metal roofing leak in heavy rain?
No, when installed correctly. Farmington receives approximately 1,232 millimeters of rain annually, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are engineered so water flows across the overlaps without pressure points. The ICC-ES evaluation report (ESR-1790) certifies the installation method for IBC/IRC compliance. Proper deck, underlayment, and flashing are essential—our licensed installers follow the specification exactly. A solid substrate beneath the panels (no exposed fasteners to the weather) and quality underlayment ensure water drains immediately rather than sitting on seams.
Can an Interlock metal roof survive Farmington's wind gusts?
Yes. Local wind gusts reach approximately 126 kilometers per hour, and Interlock's four-way interlocking system is warranted to resist speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The interlocks grip each adjacent panel on four sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This mechanical redundancy is why the UL 2218 Class 4 hail impact rating—the highest available—also indicates superior fastening strength. Coastal and mountain installations worldwide have proven the system in far more severe wind environments.
Why does an aluminum roof not rust like steel roofing does?
Aluminum cannot rust. Steel roofs oxidize because iron combines with oxygen and water; aluminum creates an aluminum oxide layer that is inert and actually self-heals when scratched. Farmington's 1,232 mm annual rainfall and freeze-thaw cycling pose no corrosion risk to aluminum. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel, providing extra protection in humid or salt-air environments. The result: a lifetime limited non-prorated material warranty covering rusting—a promise impossible to make on steel.
Is a metal roof so light it won't protect my home?
Lightness is an advantage, not a weakness. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—yet is warranted to UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance and 120 mph winds. The lightweight aluminum means installation over most existing roofs without structural reinforcement, saving tens of thousands in framing upgrades. The ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) confirms the system's structural adequacy under Connecticut's snow and wind loads. Lower weight also reduces stress on your home's frame and foundation over decades.
Will an Interlock metal roof lower my cooling costs?
energy-efficient colors reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, reducing attic temperatures and cooling demand. Interlock's reflective finishes achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny). Farmington receives about 3,134 sunshine hours annually, meaning summer heat gain is a real factor. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating demonstrates measurable cooling benefit. While Farmington's mean temperature is only 11.8°C, summer peaks still drive air-conditioning use; a light-colored metal roof will perform noticeably better than dark asphalt, especially in June through August.
What warranty does an Interlock metal roof carry, and how long will it really last?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rust, rot, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with no deductible. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, boosting resale appeal. Manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, and installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, Interlock panels have a proven track record spanning decades in extreme climates. Farmington's 72 annual freeze-thaw days and 65 cm snow load are well within the material's stress envelope, making this warranty genuine.
Is a metal roof fire-safe?
Aluminum is non-combustible and cannot ignite. Interlock panels are available with Class A fire classification (the highest rating), making them an excellent choice for wildfire-prone regions or homes near wooded areas. The ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) confirms the assembly's fire safety under building code standards. Connecticut's Hartford County experiences seasonal dry spells when fire risk rises; a non-combustible metal roof means your home won't contribute fuel to a structure fire. This fire rating can also qualify you for homeowners insurance discounts—ask your agent about premium reductions.
Does a metal roof need cleaning and repairs like asphalt or wood shakes?
Metal requires virtually no maintenance. Asphalt shingles deteriorate over 15-25 years—cracking in freeze-thaw cycles and shedding granules—requiring periodic repairs and eventual replacement. Wood shakes split, curl, and rot, especially in Farmington's 72 annual freeze-thaw days and ~1,232 mm rainfall. Interlock panels shed dirt and debris with rain; the hard aluminum surface resists mold and mildew growth. The 30-year Alunar coating warranty against chalking and fading means your roof's color and protection remain stable. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance demand, freeing you from the ladder and repair costs that consume asphalt owners' budgets over time.
