What our customers are saying:
This letter is in regard to our recent purchase and installation of an Interlock Roofing System at our home on 7 Shingle Island Lane in North Dartmouth. We experienced a failing asphalt roof after only 14 years! After a bit of research on the internet, we investigated and decided on an Interlock Roofing System. Our salesman Michael Furman was outstanding. He was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and very professional and he answered all our questions pertaining to the materials and their installation. He assured us that our concerns on certain roof areas of our Log Home would be addressed and appropriate materials would be used. He was right! We have a beautiful new green Interlock roof that looks amazing with the dark stained logs! Alex and his crew did an outstanding job during the installation and especially paid attention to the details we were initially concerned with. The crew was hard-working, courteous, and always professional. They were very patient in answering ALL our questions about the installation and challenging areas around the Log dormers and multiple skylights. They worked long days showing much tolerance and patience despite all the rain, cold and wind March/early April threw at them! They made sure at each day's end to clean thoroughly and secure the worksite before leaving. Our neighbors have commented on what a great-looking roof it is and the great job the installers did as well. We've even had people drive down our street from the main road upon seeing the roof to comment on its outstanding look. Many of them have been following the progress since its start. We are so pleased with the final results! It is a very attractive, "rich" looking roof and makes our log home look once again like it was just built! We do highly recommend your product and your company to anyone who is considering a new roof. We are looking forward to a future without facing roof replacement again! Thank you for an excellent product and outstanding service from your company.
We had our whole house done by Interlock in 2005, we've only had one issue (wind damage) and they came out the next day to repair the damage. At the time we left a small overhang undone with plans of removing it, however our plans changed and the roof had deteriorated with the passing of time. I called and they were very receptive to coming out to inspect and then replace. The work was done quickly, on time and to my complete satisfaction. I highly recommend Interlock, you wont be sorry!
Our recent experience with the team at InterLock Roofing was exceptional. Their Sales expert Chris L. worked with us to explain the features, advantages, and warranty of their lifetime aluminum shingle roof system. We worked together to document the complete scope of work before the work began. (The existing asphalt shingle roof, installed in 2006, had been leaking in several locations for year's - damaging our ceilings and hardwood flooring). Wilson P. (Site Foreman) and his install team were hard working, professional, and extremely thorough. They repaired our roof deck to eliminate all rot and the gaps in the original roof deck. (A major source of the leaks.) We could not be more pleased with our beautiful new LifeLock aluminum roof.
Their work was performed with a true sense of professionalism. Our new roofs look great! We had many compliments from our neighbors and friends. On the second day that the sign was put on the front lawn, a woman knocked on the my front door for information about the roof. She loved it! I gave her a card. We are very satisfied with our new roofs and happy that we are guaranteed we will never have to replace it again.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Westport Point
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Westport Point, Massachusetts. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Westport Point.
Will a metal roof handle Massachusetts freeze-thaw cycles better than asphalt?
Yes—aluminum's crystalline structure doesn't degrade through repeated freezing and thawing, whereas asphalt becomes brittle and cracks. Westport Point experiences about 64 freeze-thaw days annually, plus roughly 67 cm of snow and 1210 mm of rain. Asphalt expands and contracts with these temperature swings, opening micro-fractures that shorten its life. Aluminum flexes elastically and returns to its original state; the self-healing oxide layer also protects against moisture infiltration during those cycles. The four-way interlocking design (ESR-1790 compliant) sheds meltwater quickly, reducing ponding that accelerates freeze damage.
How does a metal roof perform under snow load in Westport Point?
Interlock's panels shed snow efficiently due to their smooth, sloped design and low friction—the Shake profile weighs only 0.58 lb/sq ft, making cumulative snow load negligible compared to asphalt or traditional materials. Westport Point averages about 67 cm of snow yearly, yet your roof's structure bears almost no additional burden. The four-way interlocking seams prevent water infiltration as snow melts across roughly 3103 sunshine hours annually, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists the salt spray that accompanies coastal freeze-thaw cycles. Snow guards are available if you prefer controlled shedding in high-traffic areas below the roof.
Can a metal roof rust in a coastal Massachusetts town?
Aluminum is inherently rust-proof because it contains no iron—rust is iron oxide, which cannot form in pure aluminum alloys. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum (ASTM B209), finished with Alunar 70% PVDF on both sides, specifically for salt-air protection. Westport Point's coastal climate exposes your roof to consistent salt spray, which would corrode steel within years. Aluminum instead develops a thin, self-healing oxide layer that actually strengthens the material's defense against moisture and salt. This dual-sided coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, ensuring color and protective integrity through decades of Atlantic-facing exposure.
How does an aluminum roof stand up to nor'easters and coastal gusts?
Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph; Westport Point's typical gusts reach about 178 km/h (roughly 111 mph), with seasonal peaks that approach the warranty threshold. The interlocking system distributes lateral force across multiple seams, preventing individual panels from lifting or separating during sudden pressure changes. Each panel is mechanically fastened to the deck using concealed fasteners that are themselves rated for high-wind resistance. The lightweight design (Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means wind applies less absolute force than it would against heavier asphalt or tile, extending the margin of safety even in peak gusts.
Will a metal roof reduce my homeowners insurance or survive severe hail?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 roofs because they file fewer claims; contact your agent with the UL 2218 certificate. Westport Point's climate brings moderate hail risk relative to inland regions, but the four-way interlocking design and aluminum's inherent resilience mean hail damage is rare and, if it occurs, the warranty provides repair coverage. This proven durability record may qualify you for premium reductions immediately upon installation.
Is a metal roof more expensive than asphalt over 30 or 40 years?
Metal typically costs more upfront but costs far less over a roof's lifetime because asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years. Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, meaning no degradation clause as the roof ages—you pay nothing for repairs or coatings. Over 40 years, two asphalt tear-offs (labor, landfill fees, disposal of ~1210 mm of annual rain's accumulated debris) can exceed metal's initial cost. Additionally, Interlock qualifies for current regional financing: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Metal also reflects heat (up to 0.55 solar reflectance in certain colors), reducing cooling costs in warmer months despite Westport Point's modest 11.3°C annual mean.
What makes Interlock's Guardian Warranty different from typical roof warranties?
The Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance at no cost. Most asphalt warranties are 20–30 years and pro-rated (you pay partial costs after year 10). The Guardian is also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion—a powerful resale advantage in coastal markets. Interlock has manufactured since 1998 and installed in everything from salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations, proving the product's multi-decade durability. For Westport Point's 64 freeze-thaw days and 67 cm annual snow, this warranty underscores confidence in material performance under genuine New England stress.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Aluminum requires virtually no maintenance—no resealing, no algae treatment, no gutter-clogging debris like asphalt shingle granules. Asphalt roofs shed granules into gutters and lose them to Westport Point's roughly 1210 mm annual rainfall, shortening their lifespan. Wood shakes split and rot in the region's 64 freeze-thaw cycles, demanding expensive repairs. Interlock's aluminum is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, and its Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking—meaning color stability without intervention. Occasional gutter cleaning and a light rinse after heavy salt spray is all that's necessary. This simplicity also lowers your effective cost of ownership significantly over the roof's life.
Can I install a metal roof over my existing asphalt shingles without reinforcing the roof frame?
Yes—Interlock's aluminum is extraordinarily light, and the Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This minimal weight means most existing roof structures in Westport Point can handle the upgrade without costly reinforcement. The four-way interlocking system also distributes loads evenly across the deck, preventing stress concentration. Installing over asphalt shingles (rather than tearing them off) saves labor, waste-disposal fees, and landfill volume—important in a coastal town where environmental stewardship matters. This over-install capability makes metal roofing accessible to homeowners without expensive structural engineering or frame modifications.
Who installs Interlock roofs in Westport Point, and how long does installation take?
Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has served the region since 1999 and is your local installer for Westport Point and surrounding Bristol County areas. Experienced crews understand New England's weather windows and can schedule around Westport Point's average 1210 mm annual rainfall and 67 cm snow. Installation timeline depends on roof size and complexity, but metal's lightweight profile (Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) and four-way interlocking design accelerate the process compared to traditional materials. The installer can apply the system over existing asphalt, avoiding multi-day tear-off work and weather exposure.
