Review: August 20, 2024 Completion: August 13, 2024

From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!

Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!

To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />

Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!

Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!

Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.

Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.

Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.

Review: January 28, 2016 Completion: December 28, 2015

My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.

Review: May 21, 2012 Completion: June 30, 2007

Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Rockville Township

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Rockville Township, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Rockville Township.

How does a metal roof handle Minnesota snow load and ice dams in Rockville Township?

Interlock Metal Roofing's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice effectively because the smooth metal surface prevents buildup better than asphalt. With about 97 cm of snow annually in this area and 78 freeze-thaw days per year, that cycling stress breaks down asphalt shingles—but aluminum's oxide layer self-heals and remains unaffected. Optional snow guards can be installed if you want to retain snow for insulation or safety reasons. The panels' light weight means no structural reinforcement is needed, even in heavy snow years.

Why does aluminum roofing outperform other materials through Rockville's freeze-thaw winters?

Rockville Township experiences roughly 78 freeze-thaw cycles annually—a primary killer of asphalt, wood, and clay tile roofs. Aluminum roofing-grade 3105-H24 alloy has no iron, so it cannot rust or rot; instead, its protective oxide layer self-heals when scratched by ice or debris. Asphalt becomes brittle and cracks in cold, wood splits, and tile cracks under expansion stress. Over 97 cm of snow and temperature swings across the year, aluminum maintains its structural integrity for 50+ years with the one-time transferable Guardian Warranty.

Can metal roofing withstand Minnesota wind gusts in Rockville Township?

Rockville Township's typical gusts reach 107 km/h, well within the range Interlock handles daily. The system is warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, thanks to four-way interlocking panels that resist lift and flutter. This wind-lock design distributes force across the entire roof assembly rather than stressing individual fasteners. Even during severe storms, the interlocking geometry keeps panels seated and bonded, providing the structural security asphalt shingles cannot match.

Does metal roofing reduce hail damage and insurance costs?

Interlock Metal Roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This specification-backed durability often qualifies homeowners for insurance premium reductions or discounts that asphalt roofs do not receive. In Rockville Township's climate, where hail can occur during convective storms, the non-negotiable impact rating provides both protection and documented proof of resilience. Verify discounts with your insurer, as many recognize the UL 2218 Class 4 rating as a material risk reducer.

Why is aluminum roofing immune to rust compared to steel?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rust requires iron to form. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), and its protective oxide layer actively self-heals when scratched or exposed. Steel roofs, by contrast, require paint and sealants to prevent rust, and once those coatings fail, corrosion spreads rapidly. After 97 cm of annual snowfall and 641 mm of rain in Rockville Township, this self-protecting chemistry means your roof resists the salt, moisture, and freeze-thaw cycles that decay steel in just 15–20 years.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require versus asphalt or tile?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance—no sealing, no re-coating, no granule replacement. Asphalt shingles need re-sealing every 3–5 years and fail within 15–20 years, especially after Rockville's 78 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 641 mm rainfall. Wood and tile demand periodic repairs, repainting, and replacement of cracked or split pieces. Interlock's 30-year coating warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured) and lifetime Guardian Warranty mean your roof stays CALGreen-verified low-maintenance for the life of your home.

Does metal roofing require structural reinforcement like slate or concrete tile?

No. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile installs at approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means most existing roof structures require no reinforcement, and you can often install Interlock directly over an existing roof, saving thousands in labor and disposal costs. Slate and tile, by contrast, demand substantial structural upgrades. In Rockville Township, where 97 cm of snow falls annually, the light weight reduces strain on framing while delivering authentic tile aesthetics through aluminum that ICC-ES ESR-1790 certifies for residential and commercial IBC/IRC compliance.

Does metal roofing have a Class A fire rating?

Yes. Aluminum is non-combustible, and Interlock offers Class A fire classification available for all profiles. This rating is the highest fire-safety designation possible and is required by many insurance carriers and some municipalities. Non-combustible aluminum cannot ignite, spread flame, or release toxic gases under extreme heat. Combined with the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation (reissued 2025 for current building codes), Class A availability positions your home for maximum fire-safety compliance and may qualify you for additional insurance benefits in Rockville Township.

Is metal roofing environmentally responsible compared to asphalt shingles?

Aluminum roofing is approximately 95% recyclable; asphalt shingles are torn off and landfilled every 15–20 years, creating millions of tons of waste annually. Interlock's longevity means you install one roof per 50+ years instead of three asphalt roofs, eliminating repeated tear-offs, transportation, and disposal. In Rockville Township's climate—with 641 mm annual rainfall and 78 freeze-thaw days accelerating asphalt degradation—the single-roof lifecycle dramatically reduces your home's carbon footprint. Aluminum's recyclability at end-of-life closes the loop; asphalt does not.
