What our customers are saying:
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!
To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />
Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!
Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!
Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.
Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.
Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.
My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.
I love my new roof. It looks great and I know the house is in better shape without the heavy deteriorating asphalt shingles. My house is the only one on the block with no snow on the roof, and I can't wait to hear it in the rain
We are delighted with the workmanship and quality of our new roof. It has exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend an Interlock Roof to anyone looking to replace an old roof.
Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Sherburne
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Sherburne, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Sherburne.
How does a metal roof handle Sherburne's 94 cm of annual snow?
Aluminum's smooth, hard surface sheds snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt shingles, which trap moisture and freeze. The four-way interlocking panels are engineered to shed snow loads safely without pooling water beneath. With about 84 freeze-thaw cycles per year in Sherburne, your roof faces constant expansion and contraction—aluminum's oxide layer remains stable through these cycles, while traditional materials crack and curl. Metal roofs also eliminate ice dams by maintaining consistent surface temperature, preventing the melt-refreeze cycle that damages gutters and soffits.
Will freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum roof over time?
No. Aluminum's oxide layer is self-healing and doesn't absorb water, making it immune to the spalling and cracking that plague slate, wood, and concrete tiles through freeze-thaw stress. Sherburne experiences roughly 84 freeze-thaw days annually—a climate where water absorption in porous materials becomes a structural failure mechanism. The 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy used in Interlock panels maintains its tensile strength across extreme temperature swings. Your roof expands and contracts minimally compared to wood or asphalt, and the interlocking seams accommodate any micro-movement without separation.
Can aluminum roofing rust in Sherburne's wet climate?
Aluminum panels cannot rust because aluminum contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and creates rust. Instead, a thin aluminum oxide layer forms instantly when the metal is exposed to air, and this layer self-repairs when scratched. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating is applied to both sides of every panel, adding 30-year durability against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 standard). With Sherburne's 764 mm of annual rainfall, corrosion resistance is essential; aluminum actually performs better in wet climates than steel roofing, which requires constant maintenance to prevent rust staining and structural decay.
What hail rating does Interlock metal roofing carry, and could it lower my insurance?
Interlock metal roofing carries UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest hail classification available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This performance can qualify you for insurance discounts in Minnesota; contact your agent with the UL listing (Intertek 33876) to confirm eligibility. Asphalt shingles typically fail under Class 3 impact, requiring replacement after hail events. Minnesota's hail season creates annual loss exposure; a durable roof backed by impact warranty may reduce your premium or improve claim outcomes compared to shingles that sustain damage from smaller stones.
How well does metal roofing stand up to Sherburne's wind gusts?
Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Sherburne's typical wind gusts reach 98 km/h (61 mph), meaning the roof is rated for gusts nearly double what the region typically experiences. The interlocking design distributes wind load across the entire panel system rather than relying on fasteners alone; each panel locks to its neighbors at four points, creating a unified surface that resists uplift and edge flutter. This engineered redundancy means your roof will remain secure through the strongest storms Sherburne encounters.
Can I install metal tile roofing over my existing roof without reinforcing the structure?
Yes. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Your home's existing framing can support this weight without structural reinforcement, unlike real tile which often requires costly beam upgrades. Traditional tile roofs weigh 10–15 lb/sq ft and sometimes demand foundation work; Interlock tile installs over most existing asphalt roofs immediately. This lightweight advantage saves thousands in labor and construction costs while delivering the architectural appearance of a tile roof. For Sherburne homeowners seeking durability without structural compromise, aluminum tile is the only tile-look option that eliminates reinforcement expenses.
Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost over a 50-year lifespan?
Metal roofing costs more initially but becomes the last roof you buy. A typical asphalt shingle roof lasts 15–25 years in Sherburne's climate—requiring 2–3 replacements over 50 years. Each replacement means tear-off labor, disposal fees, and installation costs; over a half-century, those add up to far more than the initial metal investment. Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, transferable for 50 years to the next owner, covering rust, rotting, splitting, and impact loss. You'll spend far less on maintenance (metal roofs need minimal upkeep), avoid multiple replacement cycles, and recoup investment through resale value and longevity.
How much maintenance does a metal roof actually require in Minnesota?
Minimal compared to asphalt, wood, or tile. Metal roofs shed leaves and debris cleanly; gutters rarely clog. You won't replace weathered sealant (asphalt), repair rot and splits (wood shakes), or re-grout cracks (tile). Sherburne's 3127 hours of annual sunshine and 764 mm rainfall mean your roof endures UV exposure and moisture stress that degrade asphalt shingles and wood within 15 years. A metal roof requires an occasional inspection and gutter cleaning—that's it. The Alunar coating is designed for 30-year color durability, and the aluminum oxide layer never peels or fails. Your time and money go toward other home priorities, not endless roof repairs.
Can I get a Class A fire rating with metal roofing?
Yes. Interlock's aluminum panels are non-combustible—they cannot ignite or spread flame. Class A fire classification is available with the right profile and installation, meeting strictest building codes including ICC-ES ESR-1790 (reissued 2025) and CALGreen requirements. Steel roofing and asphalt shingles can both fail fire tests; aluminum offers zero fire risk. For homeowners in wildfire-prone regions or those seeking maximum fire safety, metal roofing eliminates the combustibility variable entirely. This rating also qualifies for potential insurance discounts and increases home safety during extreme weather events.
Is aluminum roofing actually more sustainable than asphalt shingles?
Yes. Interlock aluminum panels are approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, while asphalt shingles are tear-off waste destined for landfills—Sherburne sends thousands of tons of roofing debris to disposal annually. A 50-year aluminum roof eliminates 2–3 full tear-off cycles per home, preventing the environmental cost of material extraction, transport, and landfill space for those replacements. Aluminum's lightweight design (0.59 lb/sq ft for tile) also reduces transportation emissions during installation. At recycling, your roof becomes raw material for new products rather than permanent waste. Choosing metal roofing extends resource life and closes the loop on material waste.
