Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Muttontown

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Muttontown, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Muttontown.

How does a metal roof handle the snow and ice that Muttontown gets every winter?

Aluminum panels shed snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface and interlocked seams resist ice damming—a critical advantage when you average about 63 cm of snow annually. The four-way interlocking design prevents water penetration even under heavy melt cycles. With roughly 66 freeze-thaw days per year in this region, the material's non-porous aluminum composition means no moisture absorption that would degrade other roofing over time, and optional snow guards can be installed if you prefer controlled release.

Will freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum roof in Nassau County winters?

No; freeze-thaw damage requires water absorption into the material itself, which aluminum cannot do because it is non-porous. Your area experiences about 66 freeze-thaw cycles annually, and asphalt, wood, and traditional tile all absorb moisture that expands and contracts, causing cracking and curling. Aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched, so winter's mechanical stress leaves the material unharmed. The Alunar® 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against fading) further protects the surface from seasonal weathering.

With all the rain Muttontown gets, will an interlocking metal roof leak?

Muttontown receives approximately 1251 mm of rain annually, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panel design is engineered to shed water faster than it can penetrate. Each panel locks into its neighbors on all four edges, creating a continuous, overlapping surface that mimics how roof water naturally flows downward. The solid deck beneath and underlayment create the same leak protection and quiet operation as asphalt, but without the granule loss and deterioration that rain causes to conventional shingles over 10–15 years.

Can a metal roof withstand the wind gusts that happen in this area?

Yes—the warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, and Muttontown's typical peak gusts reach about 135 km/h (about 84 mph). The four-way interlocking aluminum panels distribute lateral force across the entire roof plane rather than relying on fasteners alone, so the roof system itself becomes stronger. This design is why Interlock panels have been installed on coastal salt-air homes and research stations worldwide. Your area's wind environment is well within the roof's engineered safety margin.

Does hail damage matter with a metal roof, and can it lower my insurance?

Interlock aluminum roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That extreme durability can qualify you for insurance discounts; contact your carrier with the ESR-1790 ICC evaluation report and UL 2218 certification. Many insurers recognize non-combustible, impact-resistant roofing as lower-risk, potentially lowering your annual premium over the roof's 50+ year lifespan.

Why would aluminum roofing be better than steel in a humid climate like New York?

Steel roofing requires coatings to prevent rust because iron oxidizes when exposed to moisture; once the coating is breached, rust spreads beneath the surface and eventually perforates the panel. Aluminum contains no iron—it cannot rust. When aluminum oxidizes, it forms a self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the material underneath. The Alunar® 70% PVDF coating on both sides (including the underside for salt-air protection) adds a 30-year-warranted barrier, making aluminum the chemically stable choice for Muttontown's 1251 mm annual rainfall and humid coastal conditions.

Can my existing roof frame support a metal roof, or do I need expensive reinforcement?

Aluminum's extreme lightness eliminates the need for structural reinforcement in nearly all cases. The Tile profile installs at approximately 0.59 lb per square foot—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so the roof can be installed directly over most existing roofs without strengthening the frame. This also reduces labor and permits costs. The Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft and Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft are lighter still, making aluminum practical for homes where traditional tile would require costly structural upgrades.

Can a metal roof really help with cooling costs in summer?

Yes—Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55, meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. With about 3115 sunshine hours annually in your region, that reflectance compounds across thousands of sunny days. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms measurable energy savings. Lighter-colored profiles and metallic finishes (like Aged Copper Penny) perform best; the reflective benefit is greatest in summer but also reduces the heat-cold cycling stress on the material during Muttontown's 66 annual freeze-thaw days.

What's the actual warranty on an Interlock metal roof, and does it cover everything?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty to the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—essentially all material defects. It's also one-time transferable; the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion. This unusual structure reflects Interlock's confidence: aluminum manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, has been installed on homes exposed to 1251 mm annual rainfall, 63 cm snow, and harsh coastal salt air without the material failure modes that plague traditional roofing.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Muttontown, and how long does the job take?

Interlock Roofing of America has served this region since 2014 and holds the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation (reissued 2025), confirming installation to current IBC/IRC code. Installation timeline depends on roof size and complexity, but the lightweight aluminum panels (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft) speed the process compared to traditional tile or slate. Most homes can install over existing roofing without tear-off, reducing labor days. Contact the local installer for a site-specific timeline and to confirm your roof qualifies for over-roof installation, which many Muttontown homes do.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Muttontown’s climate?

Yes. Muttontown averages about 63 cm of snow, 1251 mm of rain, roughly 66 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 135 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
