Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Jericho

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Jericho, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Jericho.

Will an aluminum roof handle Jericho's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens when scratched by ice expansion, unlike materials that crack from repeated freeze-thaw stress. Jericho experiences about 66 freeze-thaw days per year across its typical 12.1°C mean temperature, making this durability critical. Because aluminum contains no iron, it cannot rust even when salt-laden meltwater pools in valleys. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against degradation, so the underlying metal stays protected through countless seasonal swings that would compromise steel or wood alternatives.

How does a metal roof perform under Jericho's snow load?

Metal roofs shed snow efficiently because the smooth, interlocking panel design prevents ice dams—the primary culprit in winter leaks across the region. Jericho averages about 63 cm of snow annually plus 1251 mm of rain, and that weight sits on a roof engineered to the IBC/IRC via ICC-ES ESR-1790. More importantly, Interlock's aluminum weighs just 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, meaning your home's existing structure handles the load without reinforcement, whereas slate or concrete tile would demand costly framing upgrades. Snow guards are available if you want controlled shedding onto pathways.

Can Jericho's nor'easters damage an interlocking metal roof?

No. The four-way interlocking panel system is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph, and Jericho's typical gust maxima reach about 135 km/h—well within that safety margin. Each panel locks on all four edges, creating a continuous, unified surface that distributes uplift forces across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. The UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating confirms the panels withstand hail up to 1.5 inches as well. This engineering makes Interlock uniquely suited to coastal and transitional Nassau County weather, where storm surges and autumn gales are routine.

Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel roofing in coastal climates?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes into the brown, crumbling corrosion you see on steel roofs or gutters. Instead, aluminum forms a transparent oxide layer that actually self-heals when scratched, sealing the damage instantly. In Jericho's marine-influenced climate with 1251 mm annual rainfall and seasonal salt spray from Atlantic storms, this property is invaluable. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy meets ASTM B209, and the dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF finish provides an extra barrier. Result: zero rust, zero iron staining, zero maintenance for corrosion—ever.

How watertight is metal roofing in heavy rain?

Jericho receives about 1251 mm of rain annually—equivalent to a tropical system's monthly output—concentrated in autumn and spring deluges. The four-way interlocking panels overlap in all directions, so water is mechanically directed downslope and cannot pool or back up under the seams. Installed over solid decking with underlayment per ESR-1790 code, the roof functions as a unified membrane with multiple drainage paths. Insurance data consistently shows metal roofs file fewer water-damage claims than asphalt shingles, where seams degrade and individual shingles crack. The Guardian warranty explicitly covers leaks caused by material defects—not installation errors—for the original owner's lifetime.

Will reflective coatings reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they reflect summer heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. Over Jericho's approximately 3115 sunshine hours per year, this difference compounds significantly on 100-degree days. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating quantifies this performance using real-world data. Lighter profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake—reach even higher reflectance. Combined with aluminum's low thermal mass (it doesn't store heat the way clay or concrete tile does), you're looking at measurable air-conditioning savings, particularly in June through August when Nassau County humidity peaks.

What makes Interlock's lifetime warranty different from asphalt shingles?

The Guardian warranty is non-prorated for the original owner—you never lose coverage as the roof ages—and it's one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years from completion. That's fundamentally different from asphalt, which depreciates to near-zero coverage by year 15. The warranty covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance, plus the 30-year Alunar coating warranty protects against chalking measured per ASTM D4214. Since aluminum is inert, moisture-proof, and fire-resistant, the failure modes that plague other materials simply do not apply. Manufactured in Delta, BC since 1998 and installed from salt-air coasts to Antarctic research stations, Interlock panels routinely exceed 50 years in service.

Can I install a metal roof over my existing asphalt shingles?

Yes, because Interlock's Slate, Shake, and Tile profiles weigh only 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most Jericho homes can accept this load without structural reinforcement, eliminating the $3,000 to $8,000 cost of framing upgrades that slate, clay, or concrete tile require. Installation directly over your existing roof avoids a costly tear-off and landfill disposal, cutting labor time and waste. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation specifies the deck requirements for your local snow loads and wind gusts (63 cm snow, 135 km/h gusts). Your installer will confirm your specific structure during the estimate, but the vast majority of Nassau County homes qualify for over-roof installation.

How recyclable is aluminum roofing at end of life?

Approximately 95% of Interlock panels are recyclable into new aluminum products—cars, aircraft, building stock—indefinitely without loss of material quality. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are often landfilled or incinerated, consuming resources and generating emissions. Over Jericho's 1251 mm annual rainfall, you'll avoid the tear-off waste cycle entirely if you install over your existing roof (saving one landfill trip right away). Aluminum's value as scrap means panels removed decades from now have actual salvage worth. CALGreen verification confirms the reduced maintenance burden as well—no annual leaf cleaning, no algae treatment, no sealant reapplication. When recycled at end-of-life, your roof becomes part of a closed loop rather than environmental debt.

Who installs Interlock Metal Roofing in Jericho and Nassau County?

Interlock Roofing of America has served the Jericho and greater Nassau County region since 2014, delivering installations across residential and commercial projects in your local climate. They understand Jericho's 66 annual freeze-thaw cycles, nor'easter wind patterns (gusts to 135 km/h), and heavy seasonal rainfall (1251 mm/year), and they're trained on the ICC-ES ESR-1790 installation protocol specific to New York's IBC/IRC code. The company backs every installation with The Guardian warranty and can walk you through profile selection (Slate, Shake, Tile, Cedar Shingle, Standing Seam), color and reflectance options for energy savings, and your roof's structural eligibility for over-roof installation. Contact them for a local estimate and timeline.
