Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Old Bethpage

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Old Bethpage, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Old Bethpage.

How does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice in Old Bethpage winters?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow effectively and resist ice dam formation because aluminum conducts heat differently than asphalt, and the smooth panel design promotes natural runoff. Old Bethpage receives about 63 cm of snow annually with roughly 66 freeze-thaw days per year, making this cycling critical: aluminum's 3105-H24 alloy expands and contracts uniformly without cracking or curling, unlike asphalt shingles or wood shake. Snow guards can be installed if desired, but the design itself prevents the ponding that leads to ice backup. The panels are warranted to 120 mph wind speeds, which matters when winter gusts reach 135 km/h.

Why won't my metal roof rust like steel roofs do?

Interlock roofing uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), which contains no iron and therefore cannot rust. Aluminum develops a self-healing oxide layer when exposed to air; if that layer is scratched, a new one forms automatically. This is fundamentally different from steel, which requires paint or galvanizing to prevent corrosion and fails when that coating is compromised. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel, offering an extra 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured). In Nassau County's 1251 mm annual rainfall, this dual-layer protection and aluminum's inherent corrosion resistance ensure your roof stays sound for decades.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Nassau County damage my aluminum metal roof?

No. Freeze-thaw cycling—Old Bethpage experiences about 66 such days annually—causes materials with high thermal mass and moisture absorption (asphalt, wood, concrete tile) to expand, contract, crack, and fail. Aluminum's low thermal mass and non-porous structure mean it responds minimally to temperature swings. The 3105-H24 alloy expands uniformly across the entire panel and returns to its original dimension as temperatures fluctuate. Unlike asphalt shingles that curl and crack, or wood shake that splits, or concrete tile that spalls, aluminum maintains its integrity through endless cycles. The Guardian warranty explicitly covers cracking and splitting—damage that simply doesn't occur with this material when installed properly.

Can my Old Bethpage home's frame support a metal roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?

Most Old Bethpage homes need no structural work. Interlock's Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58, and Tile at 0.59—the Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. By comparison, traditional asphalt shingles weigh roughly 2–3 lb/sq ft, and slate can exceed 15 lb/sq ft. This extraordinary lightness means the panels install directly over most existing roofs without reinforcement, saving tens of thousands in structural modification. Your home was built to support whatever roof was already there; aluminum weighs so little that it typically imposes less load. A site inspection by Interlock Roofing of America, serving this region since 2014, will confirm your framing is suitable—but in most cases, the answer is immediate installation without delay or cost.

Will a metal roof make my house hotter in summer, or can it actually save energy?

Interlock's energy-efficient colors reduce cooling costs by reflecting heat that asphalt absorbs. The metal panels achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they bounce incoming radiation away rather than storing it as heat. Old Bethpage receives about 3115 hours of annual sunshine; on a 90-degree day, this reflectance difference compounds across thousands of hours yearly. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the performance. White or light-colored profiles work especially well, but even darker colors outperform asphalt because metal conducts heat through the roof deck instead of absorbing it into your attic. The combination of reflectivity and conductivity lowers air conditioning load, extending compressor life and cutting summer utility bills.

Does a metal roof reduce hail damage and insurance premiums in Nassau County?

Yes. Interlock roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this superior impact resistance and offer premium discounts on metal roofs, especially aluminum. Your insurance agent will want the UL 2218 Class 4 documentation. Unlike asphalt shingles, which can be torn off or punctured by moderate hail, or slate, which can shatter, aluminum's four-way interlocking panels and non-brittle alloy absorb impact without cracking or leaking. After a hail event, asphalt roofs often require expensive claims; metal roofs rarely do. Over the roof's lifetime—which could be 50+ years with the Guardian transferable warranty—the insurance savings alone justify the metal choice in a hail-prone area.

How does a metal roof perform in Old Bethpage's heavy rainfall?

Heavy rainfall in Old Bethpage averages 1251 mm annually. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are engineered so water cannot flow backward into the seam—each panel overlaps its neighbor with precision that prevents penetration even in severe weather. The panels install over a solid roof deck with ice-and-water underlayment, creating a multi-layer defense: the metal itself sheds water rapidly, the underlayment catches anything that somehow gets past the seams, and the deck channels it safely to gutters. Unlike asphalt shingles, which can separate or tear in heavy rain, or wood shake, which swells and lifts when saturated, aluminum remains rigid and dimensionally stable. When installed to ICC-ES ESR-1790 specification (reissued 2025 for IBC/IRC compliance), leaks are extraordinarily rare. Any competent roofer—including Interlock Roofing of America—installs the system correctly, and the Guardian lifetime warranty backs the material against leaks from defects.

Are metal roof panels secure in Nassau County's strong winds and gusts?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking design means each panel is mechanically locked to its neighbors on all four sides, not just fastened at the ridge. When gusts reach 135 km/h (as Nassau County records show), this inter-panel grip distributes wind load across the entire roof system rather than concentrating stress on fasteners. The warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The panels' low profile and smooth surface create less wind catch than asphalt shingles or standing-seam systems, and the weight distribution is even across the deck. Hurricane-force winds can tear asphalt shingles, peel standing-seam panels, or lift clay tiles; the Interlock four-way interlock has proven itself from coastal salt-air homes to extreme environments, backed by the Guardian warranty's wind-speed guarantee.

What warranty comes with an Interlock metal roof, and how long will it actually last?

The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion—unusual in the roofing industry. Interlock has manufactured these panels since 1998 in Delta, BC, installing them from coastal homes to an Antarctic research station; field data confirms 25+ year performance with minimal failure. The Alunar coating alone carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. Real-world lifespan often exceeds 40–50 years. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years and require replacement, creating disposal costs and future labor. A metal roof installed on your Old Bethpage home today may outlast your ownership and require minimal maintenance, making it the last roof you'll buy.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or tile?

Interlock aluminum requires far less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or tile. Asphalt shingles need annual inspections for curling, splitting, and granule loss; wood shake requires regular treatment to resist rot and insect damage; concrete tile needs moss/algae removal and periodic resealing. Aluminum does not rot, split, curl, or support moss growth readily. Twice yearly, flush gutters and inspect fasteners and seams—a 30-minute task on most homes. CALGreen-verified Interlock panels qualify for reduced maintenance credits on some municipal building codes. Rain (1251 mm annually) naturally cleans the surface; the Alunar fluorocarbon finish resists dirt and algae. Repairs are rare: if a panel is damaged, that section is replaced without affecting neighbors. The Guardian warranty explicitly covers cracking, splitting, and curling—problems that simply don't occur with properly installed aluminum, eliminating the service calls and costs that plague other roofing types.
