Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Farmingdale

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Farmingdale, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Farmingdale.

Why does freeze-thaw cycling in New York winters matter for my roof choice?

Farmingdale sees roughly 58 freeze-thaw days per year, which breaks down asphalt and wood—but aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when exposed to temperature swings, so it doesn't crack or curl. Roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum expands and contracts without degrading; it's the same material used from coastal homes to Antarctic research stations. Your roof won't splinter, rot, or split no matter how many times this winter the temperature crosses 32°F.

Can an aluminum roof rust in a salty coastal climate?

No—aluminum contains no iron, so rust is chemically impossible. What forms instead is a protective oxide layer that actually seals itself when scratched. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel and carries a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214). Interlock panels have been installed in salt-air environments worldwide since 1998, proving aluminum outlasts steel in harsh coastal and freeze-thaw regions like Nassau County.

How does a metal roof handle the 55 centimeters of snow Farmingdale gets each winter?

Interlock's interlocked panel design sheds snow and ice predictably because the smooth, hard surface doesn't trap moisture the way asphalt does. About 55 cm of seasonal snow won't compress into ice dams on aluminum. The panels are warranted to 120 mph wind, so the occasional ice or snow slide won't tear them loose. Snow guards are available if you want to control where meltwater drains, but the material itself handles freeze-thaw and heavy loading without degrading—the same roofing performs at Antarctic research stations.

Does a metal roof stay put in Farmingdale's nor'easters and winter gusts?

Yes. Local wind gusts can reach 136 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking system is warranted to resist speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed correctly. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides—not just nailed—so wind has to pull the entire roof off at once, not peel panels individually. That's why the warranty covers this specific threat: the mechanical interlock stops wind from finding a weak point.

Does hail damage to a metal roof affect my homeowner's insurance?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 impact resistance often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because the material demonstrates superior durability. Check with your agent about the UL rating; many insurers recognize it and reward non-traditional roofs that reduce claims. In Farmingdale's 3193 annual sunshine hours, hail is less frequent than in western states, but the material's proven toughness gives you full protection and potential savings.

Is my house strong enough for a metal roof, or do I need expensive structural work?

No structural reinforcement needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs directly over most existing roofs without adding stress. The Slate and Shingle profiles weigh even less (around 0.41 lb/sq ft). Your home's framing was built to support the roof it came with; aluminum's featherweight footprint means your structure handles it easily, and you can often install over the old roof instead of tearing it off.

Is an aluminum roof actually better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable and breaks the tear-off-to-landfill cycle: asphalt shingles wear out, get ripped off, and buried. Interlock panels, made from roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, last decades and never leak oil residue into groundwater. At end of life, aluminum scrap has resale value and goes back into the material stream. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden. In a region averaging 1214 mm rain yearly, the durability also means fewer replacements over your lifetime.

How much maintenance does an aluminum roof need compared to asphalt or wood shakes?

Almost none. The self-healing oxide layer and 30-year PVDF coating (ASTM D4214 / D2244) mean no patching, sealing, or replacement shingles. Asphalt requires flashing repair, shingle replacement, and moss treatment; wood shakes split and rot, especially through Farmingdale's 58 freeze-thaw cycles per year. Aluminum won't curl, crack, or need re-nailing. Rinse debris after storms if you wish, but that's optional. One cleaning over a lifetime is far simpler than the ongoing maintenance of traditional roofing—and that simplicity adds years to your peace of mind.

What's the real lifespan and warranty on an Interlock metal roof in New York?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner—non-prorated—and covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, giving your home a documented roof lifespan that far exceeds asphalt (15–20 years) or wood (20–40 years). In a climate with 55 cm snow, 1214 mm rain, and gusts to 136 km/h, Interlock panels installed in 1998 still roof homes and Antarctic research stations. That's your proof: installed right, this roof outlasts you.

How does the cost of an Interlock metal roof compare to asphalt over 40 years?

Aluminum costs more upfront but becomes your last roof purchase. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years (tear-off labor, disposal fees, new materials—three cycles in 40 years). Metal carries a lifetime warranty, needs no maintenance, and transfers to your buyer. Add up three asphalt installs, flashing repairs, moss treatment, and the labor to haul old shingles away; aluminum's longevity eliminates those recurring costs. A single professional installation by Interlock Roofing of America—serving this region since 2014—becomes permanent value in a home that stands through Farmingdale's freeze-thaw winters, heavy rain, and coastal conditions.
