Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Wantagh

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Wantagh, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Wantagh.

Will a metal roof handle freeze-thaw cycles in Nassau County winters?

Yes—aluminum actually improves with freeze-thaw cycling because it has no grain structure that splits or cracks like wood or concrete. Wantagh experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year, which is hard on asphalt (it becomes brittle) and devastating to slate or wood shake. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy used in Interlock panels was engineered for exactly this environment. Since aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched, the repeated expansion and contraction of seasonal temperature swings won't degrade the material itself. That's why Interlock has been installed from coastal homes to an Antarctic research station—freeze-thaw is a non-issue.

How does Interlock handle the snow load and ice dams in Wantagh?

The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock snow and ice in place mechanically, preventing the sliding that tears gutters off wood or asphalt roofs. With about 55 centimeters of snow falling annually in Wantagh, that containment matters. Ice dams form when heat escapes through the attic—a roof system problem, not a material problem—but once formed, the textured Slate, Cedar Shingle, or Shake profiles give ice a grip and shed meltwater predictably through the interlock seams. Snow guards are available and install easily into the aluminum panels. The material itself is so light (Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) that even heavy snow accumulation adds minimal structural load compared to slate or tile.

Can Interlock panels stand up to nor'easters and gusty winds in Wantagh?

The panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Wantagh's typical wind gusts reach 136 km/h—which is within the panel warranty and well within tested performance. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides, creating a continuous diaphragm that distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than concentrating it at fasteners like asphalt or single-lock metal roofs do. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms this design meets the International Building Code for wind resistance. Local installer Interlock Roofing of America has been fastening these panels to Nassau County homes since 2014, through multiple nor'easter seasons.

Will hail in Wantagh damage the roof, and do I get insurance discounts?

The panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is the standard that some insurers offer premium discounts on because claims for hail damage drop dramatically. Check with your agent, but many carriers recognize that UL 2218 Class 4 aluminum roofing experiences fewer payouts than asphalt or wood shake. Unlike asphalt (which splits and leaks years after impact looks minor) or slate (which shatters), aluminum panels dent without losing structural integrity—the seams remain sealed, and the Alunar coating stays intact. The warranty covers impact damage, so even if you do have a claim, your roof is protected.

How does a metal roof handle Wantagh's heavy rain without leaking?

Interlock panels shed water mechanically through the interlock seams—there are no overlapped shingles trapping water the way asphalt does. With about 1214 mm of rain falling annually in Wantagh, that continuous-shed design matters. Water runs down the profile (Slate, Shake, Tile, or Standing Seam) and exits through the side seams without pooling. The panels install over a solid deck and underlayment (standard on any proper roof), which catches any water that backs up—just like asphalt. The ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms the design meets International Building Code for weather resistance. Because fasteners are hidden inside the interlocks (not exposed to rain), there's no rust-prone fastener pattern like you see on old-style metal roofing.

What maintenance does an Interlock roof actually need?

Almost none. Asphalt shingles need inspection every 2-3 years for curling, bare spots, and moss; wood shake requires annual treatment against rot and insects; slate or tile needs regrouting and broken-piece replacement every 10-15 years. Interlock aluminum requires occasional rinsing to remove salt residue (especially in coastal Nassau County) and clearing gutters of debris—the same maintenance any roof system needs. The Alunar fluorocarbon finish is warrantied 30 years against chalking and fading, so you're not repainting. The panels don't split, curl, rot, or crack. Because it's CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, property managers and homeowners in Wantagh often choose it specifically to eliminate roofing-related upkeep.

Do I need to reinforce my house structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. The Tile profile, for example, is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, installing at only 0.59 lb/sq ft—comparable to asphalt shingles. Even the heavier Shake profile weighs just 0.58 lb/sq ft. If you're replacing asphalt (about 2-3 lb/sq ft), you're actually removing weight. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels distribute their minimal load evenly across the deck, so there's no concentrated stress at attachment points. Interlock installs over most existing roofs without adding framing or trusses. This weight advantage means lower installation costs, no engineering reports required, and peace of mind—your home's existing structure was already carrying whatever came before, and aluminum comes in far lighter.

Is an Interlock roof more expensive than asphalt, and does it save money over time?

Initial cost is higher than asphalt, but it's the last roof you'll buy. Asphalt shingles last 15-20 years and require tear-off and landfill disposal (environmental and labor costs); Interlock carries a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner and is one-time transferable for 50 years from completion. If you stay in your home 20+ years, the math favors aluminum: one installation instead of multiple tear-offs, zero maintenance costs versus periodic repairs, no re-roofing project disruption. The panels are about 95% recyclable, avoiding the landfill cycle. Financing a roof that outlasts the mortgage often costs less monthly than planning for asphalt re-roofing twice. Many Wantagh homeowners recoup the difference in resale value and avoided replacement cycles.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Wantagh, and how long does it take?

Interlock Roofing of America has served Nassau County since 2014 and handles installations across Wantagh. Installation timeline depends on roof size and weather, but because the panels are so light (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) and lock together quickly, crews move faster than with asphalt or tile. Most residential roofs finish within 3-5 days. The installer can typically go over your existing roof without tear-off, reducing labor time and debris. Since the panels are manufactured in Delta, BC, lead times are predictable and short compared to imported tile. Local experience matters—your installer knows Wantagh's climate, building codes (ESR-1790 certified for IBC/IRC), and the typical gutter and chimney details that make the difference between a watertight installation and a leaky one. Call for an inspection and quote.

Is Interlock metal roofing fire-safe, and does it affect my insurance?

The aluminum panels themselves are non-combustible and a Class A fire rating is available, which is the highest fire classification. This matters in Wantagh because municipalities often give fire rating weight in code compliance, and some insurers offer premium reductions for non-combustible roofing. Unlike asphalt shingles (which are petroleum-based and will burn) or wood shake (which burns readily), aluminum doesn't ignite and won't contribute fuel to a wildfire or structure fire. The ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms the design meets International Building Code fire safety standards. Check with your insurance agent about premium adjustments—many carriers recognize that non-combustible roofing reduces risk and loss potential compared to asphalt or wood products.
