Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Baldwin

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Baldwin, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Baldwin.

Will a metal roof hold up through Nassau County's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes — aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw climates. With about 58 freeze-thaw days per year in Baldwin, your roof faces real expansion and contraction stress, but roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum flexes without cracking or splitting the way asphalt, wood, and concrete tile do. The four-way interlocking panels accommodate movement, and aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched by ice or debris. The Guardian warranty explicitly covers cracking and splitting, so you're protected through decades of seasonal cycles.

Can Interlock handle the snow and ice we get in Baldwin?

Designed for it. Baldwin receives about 55 cm of snow annually, and a metal roof sheds snow efficiently because its smooth, hard surface won't hold moisture the way asphalt does—preventing the ice dams that cause leaks and gutterwork damage. The panels are warranted to resist wind gusts up to 120 mph, which matters when nor'easters hit Nassau County with peak gusts around 136 km/h. If snow loading is a concern for your specific roof pitch, optional snow guards can be installed during setup to control release safely.

Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel roofing?

Aluminum contains zero iron, and iron is what rusts. When aluminum is exposed to air or salt, it forms an invisible oxide layer that's actually protective—and when scratched, this layer self-heals automatically. This matters enormously in Baldwin's humid coastal climate, where salt spray and moisture accelerate corrosion in steel products. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides of every panel adds a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading, giving you two independent layers of defense against the elements.

Is a metal roof light enough to install over my existing roof?

Absolutely—and it's one of the biggest practical advantages here. The Slate profile weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shake 0.58, and the Tile profile about 0.59 lb/sq ft. That makes the Tile roughly 96% lighter than real clay or concrete tile, so no structural reinforcement is needed on most Baldwin homes. You can install over your existing asphalt without tearing it off, which saves money, time, and landfill volume. This works because the panels bear so little load that older roof framing typically handles it without modification.

Does Interlock hold up in hail, and will my insurer care?

Yes on both counts. Interlock carries the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. In a region where severe spring and summer hail is possible, that rating often qualifies you for insurance premium reductions because insurers recognize that aluminum won't dent, split, or lose its weather seal the way asphalt, wood, and slate do. That savings—sometimes 10–20% annually—compounds over time and pays for the upgrade. Ask your agent to review the UL listing.

How does Interlock handle the heavy rain and coastal storms we get here?

Baldwin receives roughly 1214 mm of rain per year, spread across frequent nor'easters and summer storms—test conditions for any roof. Four-way interlocking aluminum panels overlap and lock mechanically, so water cannot enter the seams; it runs down and out. Installed over a solid deck with underlayment (the same practice asphalt roofers follow), the roof sheds heavy rainfall reliably. The panels themselves are non-porous aluminum; they don't absorb moisture or degrade under constant wet exposure like asphalt and wood do. Proper flashing and slope do the rest.

Can a metal roof help lower cooling costs in summer?

Yes—Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect heat rather than absorb it. Rated colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (like Aged Copper Penny), meaning they bounce sunlight back to the sky instead of warming your attic the way dark asphalt does. Over Baldwin's approximately 3193 sunshine hours per year, that reflection compounds. Cool Roof Rating Council testing validates these numbers. The result: measurably lower attic temperature in summer, reduced air-conditioning runtime, and lower energy bills. The payback timeline varies by usage, but the benefit is real and documented.

Do I actually save time and money on roof maintenance with metal?

Substantially. Asphalt requires routine inspection, moss treatment, gutter cleaning, and seal-coating to stay functional—usually every 3–5 years. Metal roofs don't rot, split, curl, or invite algae growth the way asphalt and wood do. Interlock's CALGreen-verified design means reduced maintenance burden compared to tile, which cracks in Baldwin's 58 annual freeze-thaw cycles. You'll need occasional gutter cleaning (like any roof) and visual inspection—but no seasonal repairs, no re-coating, and no accelerated decline. The Guardian warranty covers cracking, splitting, and loss of impact resistance for life, so major failures don't fall to you.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock roof, and what does the warranty actually cover?

The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, transferable once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—the failure modes that end asphalt and wood roofs. 'Non-prorated' means there's no declining payout over time; claims are honored as written. Aluminum's inherent durability, proven in service since 1998 from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, supports that coverage. This is the closest roofing gets to 'the last roof you'll buy.'

Do you have a local installer in Baldwin or Nassau County?

Yes. Interlock Roofing of America has served the Baldwin and Nassau County area since 2014, handling residential and commercial projects throughout the region. A local team means faster response times, familiarity with Baldwin's specific wind, snow, and moisture challenges, and continuity if warranty service is ever needed. They manage the entire process—site assessment, product selection (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, or Mediterranean Tile profiles), installation over your existing roof if applicable, and cleanup. Call or visit the website to request a free estimate and speak with someone who knows your neighborhood.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Baldwin’s climate?

Yes. Baldwin averages about 55 cm of snow, 1214 mm of rain, roughly 58 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 136 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
