Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Uniondale

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Uniondale, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Uniondale.

Will a metal roof handle Uniondale's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking?

Yes—aluminum expands and contracts smoothly without cracking because it's a single, continuous alloy with no grain structure like wood or brittleness like ceramic tile. Uniondale experiences roughly 58 freeze-thaw days per year, and the 3105-H24 aluminum used in Interlock panels is designed specifically to flex through these cycles without degradation. The Alunar coating (30-year warranty against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214) remains intact through temperature swings because it's applied to both sides of the panel, protecting the aluminum underneath. After 25+ years in coastal and alpine climates, our panels show no stress cracks or delamination.

How does Interlock metal roofing perform under Uniondale's snow load?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels lock together tightly, preventing snow creep and ice-dam formation along the seams. Uniondale averages about 55 cm of snow annually, and because the panels weigh only 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile, the snow load itself isn't a structural concern—your roof carries the weight without reinforcement. The smooth, hard surface sheds meltwater efficiently even during the thaw cycles typical of your 58 annual freeze-thaw days. Optional snow guards are available if you prefer managed shedding rather than full slide-off.

Why won't my metal roof rust in Uniondale's climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and creates rust in steel roofing. Instead, a microscopic oxide layer forms on aluminum's surface and self-heals when scratched, providing permanent protection. This is why Interlock panels, manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, are trusted in salt-air coastal homes and an Antarctic research station where corrosion risk is extreme. In Uniondale's temperate climate with about 1214 mm of annual rainfall and typical gusts around 22 km/h (with occasional gusts to 136 km/h), aluminum's corrosion-free nature means your roof will never develop the rust streaks or structural weakening that plague steel alternatives.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile, which visually replicates heavy clay or concrete tile, installs at only 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it about 96% lighter than actual tile. This means you can install Interlock directly over most existing roofs without adding support beams. A typical 2000 sq ft roof adds roughly 1200 pounds total, equivalent to a few inches of snow—Uniondale's 55 cm average snowfall creates far more load. Your existing framing supports the weight easily, saving thousands in structural work that slate, clay, or concrete tile would demand.

Can this roof handle Uniondale's wind gusts?

Yes, absolutely. The four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), and Uniondale's typical gusts reach only 136 km/h during peak conditions. Each panel locks on all four edges, so wind cannot lift or separate them. Interlock Roofing of America has been installing these panels in the Nassau County area since 2014, weathering nor'easters and summer storms with zero documented wind failures. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms wind-resistance performance to code. Your roof will remain secure through the worst weather your region typically experiences.

What's the hail rating, and will my insurance recognize it?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4, the highest hail-impact rating available—the same standard used by insurers nationwide. The warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Uniondale's historical hail risk is modest, the Class 4 rating is recognized by major insurers, and some offer premium discounts for impact-rated roofs. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating to request a quote reduction. Unlike asphalt shingles, which can bruise, crack, and lose granules in moderate hail, aluminum's density and flexibility absorb impact without permanent damage.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually require?

Virtually none compared to asphalt, wood, or tile. Asphalt shingles require periodic replacement of curled or missing granules and moss removal; wood shakes split and rot; tile cracks and needs individual piece replacement. Interlock panels are non-porous, so algae and moss don't colonize them, and the Alunar fluorocarbon coating (30-year warranty) resists soiling. Twice-yearly inspection of gutters and flashing is sensible in any climate. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden. In Uniondale's 1214 mm annual rainfall and 55 cm snow climate, you'll spend more time maintaining gutters than the roof itself.

Will a metal roof help lower my cooling costs in summer?

Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect rather than absorb solar heat, with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84—meaning the roof stays cooler and transfers less heat into your attic. Uniondale receives about 3193 hours of sunshine per year, so reflective coatings deliver measurable cooling savings during warm months. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms this performance. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, absorb heat and radiate it downward, raising air-conditioning loads. The combination of lighter weight, superior reflectance, and lower attic temperatures can reduce summer cooling costs by 10-15% compared to traditional dark roofing.

What's the warranty, and how long will this roof actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding resale value and peace of mind. The Alunar coating itself is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Real-world panels installed since 1998 in extreme environments (coastal salt air, Antarctic research stations) show zero structural failure after 25+ years. In Uniondale's moderate climate with 1214 mm rain and 55 cm snow annually, aluminum's stability means your roof will outlast two to three asphalt replacements.

Is a metal roof fire-safe for my Uniondale home?

Yes. Interlock offers a Class A fire classification—non-combustible aluminum that will not ignite, spread flame, or produce smoke. This exceeds building code requirements in Nassau County and provides the same fire protection as slate or tile at a fraction of the weight. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for IBC/IRC compliance) confirms the fire rating. Aluminum's non-combustibility also qualifies for some homeowners insurance discounts. If you live in a fire-prone area or near woodlands, the Class A rating offers genuine peace of mind that asphalt shingles—which are combustible—cannot match.
