Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in West Hempstead

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in West Hempstead, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in West Hempstead.

Will a metal roof handle West Hempstead's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Aluminum expands and contracts minimally compared to asphalt or wood, and the four-way interlocking panel design accommodates seasonal movement without cracking or splitting. West Hempstead experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year and roughly 55 cm of snow annually. Aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched, preventing corrosion during these wet-cold transitions. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is rated for 30 years against chalk and fade (ASTM D4214), surviving repeated temperature swings that degrade traditional shingles.

How does metal roofing perform under Nassau County snow loads?

The four-way interlocking aluminum panels distribute loads evenly and shed snow efficiently due to their smooth, angled profiles—preventing ice dam buildup. West Hempstead receives about 55 cm of snow yearly with typical wind gusts reaching 136 km/h, which metal roofing sheds faster than asphalt or wood. Because Interlock profiles (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Tile, Standing Seam) sit on a solid deck with underlayment, they don't trap moisture or freeze-thaw debris in gaps. Optional snow guards are available if you want to control shedding onto walkways below.

Can aluminum roofing rust in a climate like West Hempstead's?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) used in Interlock panels is naturally corrosion-resistant; when scratched, its oxide layer self-heals—a key advantage in Nassau County's humid salt-air environment and 1214 mm annual rainfall. Steel roofing requires protective coatings and fails if those coatings crack; aluminum doesn't. The two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish adds 30 years of extra protection against chalking and fading. Over a 50-year lifespan, this means zero rust repair costs or replacement panels.

Do I need to reinforce my roof frame for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Tile profile installs at roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes can support this weight over an existing asphalt roof without modification. This matters in West Hempstead, where wind gusts reach 136 km/h; lighter loads mean less stress on framing and fasteners during storms. The 120 mph wind warranty applies when installed to specification. Removing the old roof and its disposal costs are also eliminated, saving time and landfill volume.

Will metal roofing stay secure in West Hempstead's winter storms?

Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. West Hempstead experiences typical wind gusts around 136 km/h—well within the panel's design range. Interlock achieved ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 (reissued 2025, IBC/IRC compliance) and UL 2218 Class 4 hail impact rating, demonstrating its structural integrity under severe weather. Interlocking geometry distributes lateral forces across the entire roof rather than relying on individual fasteners, which is why coastal and high-wind installations have performed reliably since 1998.

Can hail damage reduce my roof's lifespan or insurance costs?

Interlock metal roofing carries the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This resilience often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts, though you should confirm with your carrier. West Hempstead receives about 1214 mm of rain annually and frequent freeze-thaw cycling (58 days/year), but hail itself is less a routine threat than asphalt's vulnerability to puncture and granule loss. The Class 4 rating means your roof's impact resistance is guaranteed for the life of the warranty, so premiums may reflect lower replacement risk compared to traditional shingles.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require versus asphalt or tile?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance—no granule replacement, no wood treatment, no tile regrouting. Gutters need seasonal cleaning like any roof, but that's standard. Asphalt shingles degrade with West Hempstead's 3193 annual sunshine hours and 58 freeze-thaw cycles, requiring repairs within 15–20 years. Wood shakes split and rot in 1214 mm of rain annually. Tile cracks under freeze-thaw stress and requires re-mortaring. Interlock aluminum is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, and its two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists chalking and fade for 30 years (ASTM standards). You'll spend your savings on other priorities instead of roof upkeep.

Will a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat that asphalt absorbs, reducing cooling demand during West Hempstead's 3193 annual sunshine hours. Interlock's reflective finishes achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, both Cool Roof Rating Council-rated. While Nassau County's mean temperature is 12.5°C (relatively moderate), peak summer days still drive air-conditioning use; reflective metal roofing addresses this efficiently. An asphalt roof absorbs summer heat, transferring it into the attic and living spaces. Over the roof's 50-year lifespan, the cumulative energy savings—plus the 30-year coating warranty against fade that would reduce reflectance—compound into significant cost recovery.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover in West Hempstead?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—problems that plague asphalt and wood roofs in climates like West Hempstead (1214 mm rain, 55 cm snow, 58 freeze-thaw days annually). If you sell, the warranty transfers once to the next owner, covering 50 years from completion. That means a roof installed today protects two homeowners through 2074, with no pro-ration—no degrading coverage year to year. For comparison, asphalt carries a 20-year limited warranty (usually prorated after ten years). This is the last roof you'll buy.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in West Hempstead?

Interlock Roofing of America serves West Hempstead and the Nassau County region; the company has been operating locally since 2014. They handle the full installation process—site assessment, removal of old roofing (or installation over existing asphalt), flashing, sealing, and cleanup—with experience across all five Interlock profiles (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, Mediterranean Tile). Local expertise means they understand West Hempstead's humidity, salt-air exposure, wind patterns (gusts to 136 km/h), and the freeze-thaw cycling (58 days/year) that affects roof durability. They can advise on color selection for energy efficiency, snow-guard placement, and insurance documentation.
