Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in South Floral Park

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in South Floral Park, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in South Floral Park.

Does metal roofing handle freeze-thaw cycles in South Floral Park winters?

Yes—aluminum's non-corrosive aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 3105-H24) actually strengthens under repeated freeze-thaw stress, unlike asphalt or wood. South Floral Park experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year and roughly 55 cm of snow annually, both conditions that crack and degrade conventional materials through expansion and contraction. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels remain dimensionally stable across temperature swings because aluminum has no iron to oxidize and no organic binders to embrittle. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted 30 years against chalking, prevents UV-driven degradation that accelerates failure in freeze-thaw zones.

How does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice dams in New York?

The smooth, low-friction surface of Interlock metal panels sheds snow and ice naturally, preventing the ice-dam buildup that traps water under asphalt shingles during the 55 cm average annual snowfall South Floral Park receives. Four-way interlocking edges create a unified thermal plane that minimizes heat loss through the roof deck, reducing the melt-and-freeze cycle that creates dams in the first place. Snow guards are available if you prefer to retain snow for insulation value. At only 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile, the roof carries no structural risk from accumulated snow weight—critical in a climate with frequent winter storms and wind gusts reaching 136 km/h.

Will a metal roof leak in South Floral Park's wet climate?

South Floral Park receives about 1214 mm of rain annually—standard for the Northeast—and Interlock's four-way interlocking system (mechanically locked at all edges and end laps) prevents water from entering the seams where traditional shingles overlap and fail. Every profile drains water faster than it can accumulate because aluminum conducts heat evenly across the panel surface, eliminating the cold spots that cause condensation. When installed to the ICC-ES ESR-1790 specification over a solid deck with underlayment, the roof performs identically to asphalt in rain testing—but without the tar degradation that leads to leaks after 15–20 years. Your installer, Interlock Roofing of America, has been sealing roofs in this region since 2014.

Can metal roofing withstand South Floral Park's winter gust speeds?

Yes—Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), well above South Floral Park's recorded gust speeds of 136 km/h (about 85 mph). The four-way interlocking system locks each panel mechanically to its neighbors in both directions, distributing wind load across the entire roof plane rather than concentrating stress on individual fasteners like asphalt shingles do. This engineering also means no uplift under suction forces during nor'easters. The UL 2218 Class 4 impact and wind-performance rating is the highest available, giving you documented proof of performance in high-wind coastal regions with salt spray—conditions more demanding than inland New York.

Does hail damage metal roofing, and will insurance cover it?

Interlock aluminum achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact resistance—the highest rating—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy's inherent elasticity allows it to flex and recover from hail impact without cracking, unlike brittle asphalt or clay tile. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer discounts on policies for non-combustible metal roofs; you should contact your carrier with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification to explore savings. In a climate with occasional severe thunderstorms, documented impact resistance translates to fewer claims, lower premiums, and peace of mind—something asphalt shingles cannot match after their first hail season.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost over asphalt in the long run?

Yes—metal roofing is the last roof you'll install. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years (three cycles in 60 years), generating landfill waste and repeated contractor access fees; Interlock's Guardian Warranty provides a lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner and 50 years transferred to the next owner, eliminating replacement costs for decades. Over a 50-year ownership window, the total cost per year of asphalt (material plus labor plus waste) exceeds metal when both are amortized. Additionally, energy-efficient colors with emissivity 0.84 reduce summer cooling costs in South Floral Park's 3193 annual sunshine hours, offsetting the initial premium through utility savings. One roof, one warranty, no tear-offs.

Can my house support a metal roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?

No reinforcement needed. Interlock aluminum panels weigh only 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile and 0.59 lb/sq ft for the Tile—about 96% lighter than the concrete or clay tile they replicate. Most homes can accommodate this weight without modification because it's comparable to or lighter than the asphalt shingles already on your roof. This is why Interlock installs directly over existing roofs in most cases, eliminating the tear-off cost and landfill burden. Engineered per ICC-ES ESR-1790 (the model building code standard), the system distributes loads evenly across rafters designed for standard asphalt. Your local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, can assess your specific structure during the free estimate.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or tile?

Virtually none. Interlock aluminum panels require no coatings, sealants, or repairs typical of asphalt (which hardens and cracks within 10 years) or clay tile (which splits and breaks under freeze-thaw cycles like South Floral Park's 58 per year). The Alunar 70% PVDF finish sheds dirt and algae naturally; annual gutter cleaning is standard for any roof in a region receiving 1214 mm of rain. The interlocked joint design eliminates the exposed fasteners and overlaps that fail in conventional roofing, and the CALGreen-verified material reduces maintenance liability compared to wood-based or organic asphalt products. You'll spend less time on repairs and more time enjoying your home.

How long does it take to install a metal roof on an existing home?

Installation typically takes 2–4 days depending on roof size and complexity, with minimal disruption to your daily life. Because Interlock's extraordinary light weight (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft) allows installation over most existing asphalt shingles, you avoid the multi-day tear-off, debris removal, and structural inspection that add weeks to traditional reroof projects. The four-way interlocking system also accelerates the installation itself—panels lock together mechanically, requiring fewer fasteners and steps than manual overlap roofing. Your local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, serving South Floral Park since 2014, coordinates the project timeline upfront and manages permits and inspections. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 certification ensures code approval in Nassau County without delays.

Is aluminum roofing actually more sustainable than asphalt shingles?

Yes—aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, breaking the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle that costs money and environmental capital. Every Interlock roof installed avoids the shredded-asphalt waste stream; if your roof ever needs replacement (unlikely within 50 years), the aluminum is recovered by scrap dealers, not buried. Asphalt shingles cannot be recycled and require disposal as construction and demolition waste, adding $500–$1500 to every reroof project's true cost. Manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, Interlock uses established aluminum supply chains with documented recyclability practices. South Floral Park's CALGreen compliance framework recognizes reduced-maintenance metal roofing as a sustainable building material—choosing aluminum aligns your home with environmental responsibility and local building priorities.
