Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Elmont

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Elmont, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Elmont.

Will a metal roof handle Elmont's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or failing?

Yes. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) expands and contracts uniformly without the brittleness that affects slate, wood, or concrete tile. Nassau County experiences roughly 58 freeze-thaw days per year, and aluminum's flexibility prevents the micro-cracking that weakens those materials over time. The four-way interlocking system accommodates panel movement, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years) won't chip or peel from thermal cycling. Your roof adapts to winter; it doesn't deteriorate because of it.

How does Interlock handle heavy snow and ice dams in a climate like ours?

Interlock's interlocking design sheds snow and ice effectively because water runs beneath the raised panel edges rather than pooling. Elmont averages about 55 cm of snow annually, and the smooth aluminum surfaces don't trap moisture the way asphalt or wood does. Snow guards (available as add-ons) manage avalanching in high-snow years. Because the panels are roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, your roof can safely support accumulated snow without structural reinforcement—no hidden risk to your home's frame. The system was installed and has thrived at an Antarctic research station, so your winters are manageable by comparison.

Why is aluminum better than steel for a roofing material, especially near coastal areas?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—period. Steel corrodes when iron oxidizes; aluminum naturally forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects against salt air and moisture. Interlock has manufactured and installed roofs since 1998 from coastal salt-spray homes to inland climates; the material itself is chemically resistant. Elmont's 1214 mm annual rainfall and coastal-proximity weather are handled by the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides of every panel), which adds 30-year fade and chalking protection. You're not fighting rust; you're living with a material engineered to last generations.

Does Interlock's metal roof stay secure in Elmont's wind gusts?

Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Elmont's typical wind gusts reach about 136 km/h, putting you safely within the warranty envelope. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors on all four sides, distributing load evenly and preventing individual panels from lifting or separating. Even during the occasional severe gust, the mechanical connection means your roof stays intact while asphalt shingles tear or blow away entirely. That durability translates directly to lower insurance premiums for many homeowners and peace of mind during storm season.

Will hail damage my metal roof, and could it lower my insurance costs?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Metal roofs rarely sustain visible dent damage from typical hail; aluminum's hardness and the light weight (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile) distribute impact forces. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer discounts for Class 4 metal roofing. Request a quote from your carrier once installation is complete; you may recover the roofing investment through lower premiums over time. Elmont hail events are not routine, but when they occur, your roof is the last thing you'll worry about.

Can a metal roof handle Elmont's heavy rainfall without leaks?

Heavy rainfall and Interlock's four-way interlocking design work in your favor. Elmont receives roughly 1214 mm of rain annually, and the raised panel edges create a continuous shed path that directs water downward and outward, never pooling. Overlapping side and end locks prevent water penetration at seams—a major vulnerability in asphalt systems. The installed roof includes a solid deck and underlayment, matching asphalt shingle water protection while adding the mechanical lock-down that shingles lack. Combined with ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance, your system meets or exceeds building code standards for water shedding and drainage. Leaks are exceptionally rare when the installation follows spec.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure to install a metal roof in place of asphalt?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Tile profile—the heaviest option—weighs roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes can accommodate it over existing framing without modification. Comparison: asphalt shingles weigh 2–3 lb/sq ft, and many metal profiles are even lighter. Your roof structure is already strong enough for snow loads (55 cm typical in Elmont) and the occasional ice accumulation, so installing a lightweight metal roof either reduces stress on the frame or requires no change at all. This savings avoids expensive structural work and means faster, cleaner installation—often directly over your existing roof.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need compared to asphalt or wood?

Aluminum requires virtually no maintenance. Asphalt shingles curl, crack, and lose granules; wood shakes split and rot; tile cracks and requires regrouting. Interlock's Guardian Warranty explicitly covers cracking, curling, splitting, rotting, and loss of impact resistance—problems you won't face. Rain (1214 mm/year in Elmont) naturally rinses dust and pollen from the smooth Alunar finish. No gutter guards, no annual inspections, no sealant reapplication. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden. You may inspect flashing and seals every few years, but the roof itself simply ages without degrading. That's the aluminum advantage: longevity through material, not upkeep.

What's the real lifespan of Interlock, and is the warranty worth anything?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and impact-resistance loss. One-time transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion. Non-prorated means no sliding deductible; Interlock stands behind the roof at full coverage. Combined with aluminum's inherent corrosion resistance (oxide layer self-heals when scratched) and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (30-year fade guarantee, ASTM D4214/D2244 tested), your roof is expected to outlast the original structure's mortgage. Elmont's roughly 3193 sunshine hours and 58 freeze-thaw days are well within this material's proven range; Interlock has installed systems since 1998 across far harsher climates.

Will an energy-efficiency metal roof actually reduce my cooling costs?

Yes. Interlock offers energy-efficient colors with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny). These colors reflect heat that dark asphalt absorbs, reducing attic temperatures and cooling loads, especially during Elmont's roughly 3193 annual sunshine hours. The Cool Roof Rating Council verifies this performance. Your savings depend on roof color, HVAC efficiency, and local usage patterns, but metal roofing consistently outperforms dark asphalt on energy bills. Over a 50-year roof life, the cumulative energy savings often cover a portion of the upfront cost. Light or reflective colors provide both immediate comfort and long-term utility savings.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Elmont’s climate?

Yes. Elmont averages about 55 cm of snow, 1214 mm of rain, roughly 58 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 136 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
