Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in New Hyde Park

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in New Hyde Park, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in New Hyde Park.

Will a metal roof handle New Hyde Park's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum's crystalline structure remains stable through repeated freezing and thawing, unlike asphalt shingles that crack and curl. Nassau County experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year, a major cause of shingle failure. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) expands and contracts uniformly without brittleness, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists the salt spray that accelerates degradation in coastal freeze-thaw zones. Combined with four-way interlocking panels that move as one system, your roof handles the seasonal stress asphalt simply cannot.

Can an aluminum metal roof rust in a coastal climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the metal that corrodes. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, transparent oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, maintaining protection indefinitely. New Hyde Park's ~1214 mm annual rainfall and occasional salt-air exposure would devastate steel or galvanized roofing, but aluminum thrives. Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish to both sides of every panel specifically for environments like yours; the coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214). This dual-sided protection is a practical advantage in salt-influenced climates.

How does a metal roof perform under New Hyde Park's snow load?

Metal roofing sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because its smooth, interlocking surface prevents accumulation at seams. Nassau County averages about 55 cm of snow annually, and that weight concentrating in one spot can stress traditional roofing. Interlock's panels interlock four ways, creating a unified surface that distributes load evenly without the gaps where ice dams form. The system's light weight—the Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft—means no structural reinforcement is needed, yet the four-way interlocking design and ESR-1790 code compliance ensure snow slides safely rather than pooling.

Is a metal roof safe in Nassau County's winter and summer wind gusts?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. New Hyde Park typical wind gusts reach about 136 km/h (85 mph), well within the roof's rated capacity. The interlocking geometry means each panel is mechanically tied to its neighbors, preventing the uplift and flutter that compromises single-fastened shingles. Nassau County's ~22 km/h mean daily winds and seasonal gust patterns pose no structural risk to a properly installed Interlock system; the panel's design handles peak loads without relying on sealants that degrade over time.

Will heavy rain leak through a metal roof in New Hyde Park?

No. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels overlap and seal at every junction, designed to shed water at the angle your roof pitches. Nassau County receives approximately 1214 mm of rain per year—typical for the Northeast—and metal roofing's smooth, sloped surface is inherently better at drainage than asphalt, which absorbs water into the substrate. The overlap geometry means water cannot pool at seams, and the ESR-1790 evaluation confirms compliance with IRC rain-tightness standards. When installed over solid decking and underlayment (the standard practice), the system performs identically to asphalt in heavy rainfall, but without the absorption risk that leads to rot and sagging.

What impact rating does Interlock have, and could it lower my insurance premiums?

Interlock holds the highest impact classification available: UL 2218 Class 4, which means it resists hailstones up to 1.5 inches without perforation. Some insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4 roofing, particularly in regions prone to severe weather; ask your agent about a quote reduction. New Hyde Park's climate data doesn't indicate frequent hail, but the rating protects against outlier storms. The lifetime limited warranty even covers perforation from Class 4 hail impact, so you're covered both ways: your insurance may recognize the durability, and Interlock stands behind the material itself if impact does occur.

Do I need to reinforce my house framing for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is required. Interlock's Slate profile installs at 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft, and the Mediterranean Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than solid concrete or clay tile. Your home's existing framing, built to support asphalt shingles (typically 2–3 lb/sq ft) or conventional slate (7–15 lb/sq ft), easily accommodates aluminum. This light weight allows installation directly over most existing roofs without tear-off, reducing labor costs and landfill waste. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms that no reinforcement is necessary when the system is installed per specification, making retrofit projects faster and more economical than alternatives.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof really need?

Minimal. Unlike asphalt shingles that require periodic sealing and replacement, or wood shake that needs treatment and clearing of debris, aluminum roofing is maintenance-free after installation. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists algae and lichen growth, and the solid, non-porous surface sheds dirt and debris that would lodge in granule-based shingles. New Hyde Park's ~3193 annual sunshine hours and moderate rainfall don't require special upkeep; a simple rinse during heavy rain keeps the roof clean. The Guardian warranty covers no maintenance obligations—only material defects—because aluminum and fluorocarbon coatings simply don't deteriorate the way asphalt absorbs UV damage or wood rots.

Can a metal roof actually reduce my cooling costs in New York?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect significantly more solar heat than standard asphalt, reducing cooling demand on sunny days. The Aged Copper Penny finish achieves 0.55 initial solar reflectance and 0.84 thermal emissivity, meaning it absorbs less heat than dark asphalt and re-radiates absorbed heat efficiently. New Hyde Park's ~3193 annual sunshine hours mean this reflectance compounds over months and years, lowering air-conditioning costs. Cool Roof Rating Council testing confirms the energy benefit; the lighter colors also reduce roof surface temperature by 20–30°F compared to conventional dark shingles. For homes with high cooling loads, the energy payback can be material within a decade.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. Non-prorated means you pay the same claim percentage at year 5 as at year 50—no depreciation schedule. It transfers once to the next owner, who receives 50 years of coverage from the roof's completion date. The Alunar coating itself is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214), and the aluminum substrate's corrosion protection is permanent. Most homeowners never file a claim; the warranty's real value is the 30+ year lifespan you can count on, making it the last roof you'll likely install.
