Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Manhasset Hills

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Manhasset Hills, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Manhasset Hills.

How does a metal roof handle Manhasset Hills' heavy snow and ice buildup?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice reliably because the smooth, slick surface prevents adhesion — unlike asphalt shingles, which trap moisture and encourage ice dams. Manhasset Hills receives about 63 cm of snow annually across roughly 66 freeze-thaw days per year, conditions that break down conventional roofing through repeated expansion and contraction. Aluminum's oxide layer remains stable through these cycles; the metal expands and contracts uniformly without cracking or curling. You can add snow guards if you prefer controlled release, but the panel geometry naturally sheds snow load safely without the structural reinforcement that slate or concrete tile would require.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Nassau County damage an aluminum metal roof?

Freeze-thaw cycles — Manhasset Hills experiences about 66 per year — actually pose no risk to aluminum roofing because the material has no water absorption and cannot rot or crack from ice formation. Asphalt shingles, wood shakes, and clay tile all absorb moisture; when water freezes inside, it expands and splits the material from within. Aluminum's oxide coating seals both sides of every panel (Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish), so moisture never penetrates. The metal simply flexes with temperature swings across your annual 12.1°C mean and winter dips, while the interlocking design keeps water flowing downward. After 27 years of installation across Canada and coastal climates, Interlock's roofs show zero freeze-thaw failure.

Can an aluminum roof rust in a coastal-influenced climate like Manhasset Hills?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — the element that oxidizes and creates rust. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath. Manhasset Hills sits in Nassau County where salt-air spray and moisture-heavy winters are common pressures; Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum (ASTM B209) is the same alloy used in Antarctic research stations and coastal salt-air homes worldwide. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (applied to both sides) adds a second protective barrier against corrosion, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244). This dual-layer defense means your roof will not corrode, pit, or degrade from the salty, wet conditions typical of Long Island.

Does metal roofing hold up to hail, and could it lower my insurance costs in New York?

Interlock metal roofs carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This extreme resilience often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because hail damage is a primary claim driver in the Northeast. Nassau County experiences gusts to 135 km/h and occasional severe storms; a Class 4-rated roof eliminates that exposure and demonstrates loss prevention to your insurer. Many carriers recognize metal roofing's documented durability and reduce premiums accordingly — speak with your agent about potential savings when you upgrade. The non-combustible aluminum construction (Class A fire rating available under ICC-ES ESR-1790) also addresses another major underwriting concern, compounding the discount potential.

Will my metal roof blow off in Manhasset Hills' winter storms?

No. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification — well above Manhasset Hills' documented gust extremes of 135 km/h, because the interlocking design distributes uplift forces across the entire roof assembly rather than concentrating stress on fasteners. Each panel locks mechanically to its neighbors on all four sides, creating a unified system that moves as one rather than individual shingles peeling away. During the winter gust season in Nassau County, your roof remains secure even in the most severe weather the Atlantic corridor typically delivers. The warranty covers wind performance explicitly, and Interlock's 11-year track record in the region (installed locally since 2014) includes zero reports of wind-related failure.

Can my existing roof structure support a metal roof, or do I need reinforcement?

Most homes in Manhasset Hills require no structural reinforcement because Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light — the Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, installs at only 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Your current roof framing was built to carry asphalt shingles (about 2–3 lb/sq ft) or older slate/tile; aluminum metal roofing weighs a fraction of that load. The lightweight design also means installation can proceed directly over most existing roofs without tear-off, reducing labor cost and debris. Interlock can install over asphalt, wood, or low-slope surfaces, spreading the minimal weight across your entire roof area. This advantage alone makes metal roofing economically feasible on homes where traditional tile or slate would demand expensive structural upgrades.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need compared to asphalt or tile?

Metal roofs demand virtually no maintenance — no seasonal inspections, no moss treatment, no granule replenishment, and no patching of individual shingles. Asphalt roofs require regular inspection and often need spot repairs within 10–15 years; wood shakes need annual cleaning and treatment; clay tile requires periodic re-pointing and broken-tile replacement. Interlock's aluminum, sealed with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides, sheds debris naturally, resists algae and moss growth, and has no fasteners that loosen over time because the interlocking system is mechanically locked, not fastened. Even across Manhasset Hills' wet climate (about 1251 mm rainfall annually), the smooth profile prevents water pooling and organic growth. Your only maintenance is occasional gutter cleaning — the same as any roof — making aluminum the lowest-maintenance premium roofing option available.

Will a metal roof keep my home cooler and lower my cooling costs?

Yes, particularly if you choose an energy-efficient color. Interlock's reflective coatings achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny is one example), meaning they bounce heat away instead of absorbing it the way dark asphalt shingles do. In Manhasset Hills, you receive about 3115 sunshine hours annually; that's significant cumulative solar gain. Cool roofs rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council reduce attic temperatures by 10–20°F on sunny days, cutting air-conditioning load and extending compressor life. The benefit compounds across your annual cooling season, offsetting part of the roof's installed cost through lower utility bills. Combined with the roof's 50-year warranty (transferable to the next owner), the energy savings make aluminum competitive with asphalt on a true life-cycle basis.

Is metal roofing worth the higher upfront cost in Manhasset Hills?

Yes, aluminum metal roofing is the last roof you'll need to buy. While the upfront cost exceeds asphalt shingles by $3–5 per square foot (installed), you avoid the $8,000–15,000 replacement cost every 15–20 years. Over 50 years, a homeowner replaces asphalt three times (material plus labor, disposal, and disruption); Interlock's lifetime limited warranty for the original owner and 50-year transferable term for the next owner means zero replacement cost. You also recover 60–85% of the installed cost in resale value (compared to 40–50% for asphalt) and may qualify for hail-impact insurance discounts and energy-efficiency tax credits (currently up to $3,600 under U.S. tax law). For Manhasset Hills homeowners staying 15+ years, metal roofing's 30-year coating warranty, zero maintenance, and energy efficiency deliver substantially lower total cost of ownership than the conventional tear-and-replace cycle.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Manhasset Hills, and how long have they been in business?

Interlock Roofing of America has served the Manhasset Hills area and greater Nassau County since 2014, delivering over a decade of local expertise in cold-weather, high-moisture roofing conditions. The company is factory-trained on Interlock's aluminum systems and familiar with Long Island's code requirements (ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance) and the region's freeze-thaw and salt-air stresses. Local installation means faster scheduling, nearby material staging, and a service partner who understands your neighborhood's building stock and climate challenges. They can assess whether your roof structure supports direct installation over existing asphalt or if a tearoff is prudent, advise on profile and color choices that suit your home's architecture, and walk you through the Guardian Warranty coverage. Call them for a site visit and quote; they'll provide timeline estimates and address any questions about installation process or local permit requirements.
