What our customers are saying:
I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.
I wasted 4 months of my time thinking i will have a beautiful metal roof just to learn that interlock will not be able to do it after all
Interlock Roofing could have improved their communication.
I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.
We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.
I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.
My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.
To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Roslyn Heights
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Roslyn Heights, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Roslyn Heights.
Will a metal roof handle Roslyn Heights' freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or failing?
Aluminum's crystalline structure and self-healing oxide layer make it exceptionally resistant to freeze-thaw damage that degrades asphalt and wood. With approximately 66 freeze-thaw days per year in Nassau County, your roof experiences significant seasonal stress. Unlike asphalt shingles, which absorb moisture and crack when ice forms, Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy sheds water immediately—no internal ice expansion, no material fatigue. The four-way interlocking panels lock tight even after decades of thermal cycling, and the Alunar® 70% PVDF finish (warranted 30 years) protects against the salt-laden freeze cycles common near Long Island's coast.
How does an aluminum metal roof handle snow load and ice dams in our area?
Interlock's panels are engineered to shed snow and prevent ice dams because aluminum conducts heat evenly and its smooth, slick surface doesn't trap moisture or freeze buildup. Roslyn Heights receives about 120 cm of snow annually, placing significant load stress on conventional roofs; Interlock's Shake profile installs at only 0.58 lb/sq ft—light enough that no structural reinforcement is needed, yet strong enough to support snow weight without sagging. The four-way interlocking system remains watertight even when snow melts unevenly, and optional snow guards can be installed to manage avalanche-style slide-off if you prefer gradual melt.
Does a metal roof leak in heavy rain, especially during northeastern storms?
No. Metal roofs are engineered to move water away, not absorb it—the opposite of asphalt's weakness. Roslyn Heights averages about 1,251 mm of rain yearly, and the region's seasonal nor'easters bring intense downpours. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels create a continuous mechanical seal; water cascades over the ribs and is funneled into gutters, never trapped between seams. When installed over solid decking with underlayment (standard practice by our local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, since 2014), the system is as leak-proof as any roof can be—and the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms compliance with IBC/IRC water-management code.
Can aluminum metal roofing withstand nor'easters and the strong winds that hit Long Island?
Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed per specification, and Roslyn Heights' typical gusts reach only 135 km/h—within that design envelope even in severe storms. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors in all directions, creating a unified assembly that distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, begin to lift and fail well below 100 mph. Nassau County's coastal exposure demands this level of wind security, and the mechanical interlock delivers it without additional bracing or reinforcement.
Will hail damage my metal roof, and could I get an insurance discount?
Aluminum metal roofing is hail-resilient by design. Interlock holds a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer discounts on non-combustible metal roofing or Class 4-rated systems; contact your agent with the UL 2218 certification. Unlike asphalt, which splits and loses granules in hail, or wood shake, which cracks, aluminum's yield strength allows it to flex and recover without permanent deformation. Combined with the non-combustible construction (ICC-ES ESR-1790, Class A fire rating available), you may qualify for additional premium reductions that offset installation cost over time.
Can a metal roof rust if it's near the ocean or salt air?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the only element that oxidizes into rust. Instead, aluminum forms a microscopically thin, self-healing oxide layer when exposed to air; if that layer is scratched, it reforms within hours. This is why aircraft and coastal structures use aluminum. Roslyn Heights' proximity to salt air makes this immunity especially valuable: steel roofing corrodes aggressively in salt spray, but Interlock's 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 roofing-grade aluminum alloys resist coastal corrosion indefinitely. The Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both panel sides, warranted 30 years) adds extra protection, so your roof won't pit, stain, or weaken as salt-air environments age asphalt or steel.
Will a metal roof keep my home cooler and lower my summer energy bills?
Metal roofs with reflective coatings reduce heat absorption and cooling load. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they bounce heat into the atmosphere instead of conducting it into your attic. Roslyn Heights receives about 3,115 sunshine hours per year, so cumulative summer cooling savings are measurable—typically 10-15% on air conditioning costs for comparable homes. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms this performance. Asphalt absorbs and re-radiates much of that solar energy as attic heat. Over a 50-year roof life, the energy savings compound, offsetting the higher installation cost and reducing your home's carbon footprint.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure before installing metal shingles that look like tile or slate?
No structural reinforcement is required. This is aluminum's major structural advantage over ceramic or concrete tile. A single square (100 sq ft) of concrete Mediterranean tile weighs about 800 pounds; Interlock's lightweight Mediterranean Tile profile installs at only 0.59 lb/sq ft—meaning the same square weighs about 59 pounds. That's 96% lighter, so your home's framing bears no additional load. You can install Interlock over most existing roofs without engineering changes, which accelerates the project, reduces labor cost, and eliminates the expense of rafter strengthening. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms installation over existing roofing is code-compliant, making an upgrade to authentic-looking tile aesthetics practical for nearly any house.
What's the real lifespan of a metal roof, and what does the warranty actually cover?
Interlock's Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with no deductible or percentage depreciation. This means if the roof fails in year 40, you recover 100% replacement cost, not a reduced settlement. The warranty transfers once (50 years from completion) to the next owner, which adds measurable resale value. Real-world installations since 1998 have performed reliably for 25+ years in coastal and Arctic climates; with no material degradation mechanism for aluminum and a 30-year fluorocarbon finish warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244), 50+ year service life is realistic. Asphalt typically lasts 15-20 years before curl, crack, and granule loss accelerate failure.
Who installs and services Interlock metal roofing in Roslyn Heights, and how long does a roof replacement take?
Interlock Roofing of America has served the Roslyn Heights region and Nassau County since 2014, bringing localized expertise in Northeast climate challenges—freeze-thaw, salt air, nor'easters, and heavy snow. The installer understands Nassau County's building codes (including ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance and CALGreen verification) and coordinates with local inspectors. Installation timeline typically spans 3-7 days for a single-family home, depending on roof size and existing conditions; because the lightweight panels install over most existing roofing, there's no multi-day tear-off and disposal cost. Local presence means faster service calls, warranty support, and someone who knows the region's 1,251 mm annual rainfall and 63 cm snow patterns intimately.
