Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Roslyn

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Roslyn, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Roslyn.

Will a metal roof handle the freeze-thaw cycles we get here in Nassau County?

Yes. Roslyn experiences about 66 freeze-thaw days per year, and aluminum's non-porous structure prevents water absorption and ice lens formation that cracks asphalt and wood. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) expands and contracts uniformly without delamination or brittleness. The four-way interlocking design accommodates thermal movement while maintaining watertight seams. Unlike slate or concrete tile—which fracture in freeze cycles—aluminum flexes and returns to shape, surviving decades of seasonal stress in climates like yours.

Can aluminum roofing rust or corrode in a humid climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, it forms a microscopically thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal beneath. When scratched, this layer reforms automatically. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish—applied to both sides of every panel and warranted 30 years against chalking and fading—adds a second barrier against salt air and the 1251 mm annual rainfall typical here. Steel roofs rust within 15–20 years in humid environments; aluminum outlasts them by decades without the maintenance burden.

How does a metal roof handle heavy snow loads and ice dams?

Interlock's panels shed snow and ice efficiently because their smooth, interlocking design creates no pockets where water pools and freezes. Roslyn averages about 63 cm of snow yearly; the lightweight aluminum—at 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile—distributes that load evenly without overstressing framing. Snow guards can be added if you prefer controlled snow release. The standing-seam profile is particularly effective at directing meltwater away from ice-dam zones. Unlike asphalt shingles, which become brittle at freezing temperatures and crack under ice weight, aluminum remains flexible and sheds both rain (1251 mm annually) and seasonal snow predictably.

Will this roof hold up in Nassau County's gusty weather?

Roslyn experiences typical wind gusts up to 135 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, distributing uplift forces across the entire roof plane rather than concentrating them at fasteners. The ICC-ES evaluation report (ESR-1790, reissued 2025) confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind load requirements. Asphalt shingles begin failing at gusts above 60 mph; metal's mechanical interlock provides margin well beyond your region's seasonal extremes.

Will hail damage my metal roof, and can I get insurance breaks?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest classification available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This certification often qualifies homeowners for insurance premium reductions; contact your carrier with the UL rating and ICC-ES report (ESR-1790). The non-combustible aluminum and impact durability lower underwriting risk. Asphalt shingles dent and degrade visibly in hail, triggering costly replacements; aluminum's hardness and flexibility allow it to absorb impact without permanent damage or loss of water-shedding performance.

Can a metal roof leak in heavy rain?

No, when installed correctly. Roslyn receives about 1251 mm of rain annually, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panels with solid underlayment and proper deck drainage eliminate the gaps and capillary paths where water enters. Each panel overlaps its neighbor, directing water down and outward. The ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) certifies water-shedding performance to building code standards. A professional installation—including flashing at valleys, penetrations, and eaves—ensures continuous protection. Asphalt shingles deteriorate and curl after 15–20 years, opening seams to water infiltration; locked aluminum panels maintain their watertight geometry for the life of the roof.

Do I need structural reinforcement to install a metal roof on my house?

No. Interlock's panels weigh as little as 0.41 lb/sq ft (Shingle profile), making them about 96% lighter than traditional concrete or clay tile. Most homes in Roslyn can support this weight without framing upgrades; a structural engineer can confirm yours in minutes if there's any concern. The lightweight design also enables installation directly over most existing asphalt roofs, eliminating costly tear-off and debris disposal. Steel tile and slate require reinforced framing and often necessitate a complete tear-off. Aluminum's minimal structural load saves tens of thousands in installation and preparation costs while cutting landfill waste.

Will an aluminum roof reduce my cooling costs?

Interlock's energy-efficient colors with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84 reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, reducing cooling costs during warm months. Roslyn receives about 3115 sunshine hours yearly; lighter colors like Aged Copper Penny bounce solar radiation back to the sky rather than warming your attic. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating quantifies this performance. Over a 50-year roof life, energy savings compound, particularly in homes with air conditioning. While asphalt reaches temperatures that drive indoor cooling loads up, metal's reflectivity works passively to lower utility bills and extend HVAC equipment life.

What's the warranty on this roof, and how long will it actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rust, rot, splitting, cracking, curling, and impact-resistance loss. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, protecting your home's resale value. With 66 freeze-thaw days annually and 1251 mm rainfall, durability matters; Interlock's aluminum panels have been installed since 1998 and remain in service worldwide, from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations. Unlike asphalt (15–20 years) or wood shake (20–25 years), this is truly your last roof—and its transferability adds 50 years of buyer confidence when you sell.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or tile?

Aluminum requires minimal maintenance. Rinse it annually with a garden hose to clear pollen and debris; that's it. No algae or moss grows on non-porous aluminum the way it does on asphalt or wood in humid climates like Roslyn's. Asphalt shingles demand regular moss/algae treatment, gutter cleaning, and fastener inspection as they degrade. Slate and tile require periodic resealing of grout and replacement of cracked pieces. The CALGreen-verified Interlock system is rated for reduced maintenance, lowering your total cost of ownership across the roof's 50-plus-year life. Fewer repairs and no seasonal rituals mean less time and money spent on upkeep.
