Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Munsey Park

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Munsey Park, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Munsey Park.

Will a metal roof handle freeze-thaw cycles in Munsey Park winters?

Yes—aluminum's crystalline structure actually becomes more durable through repeated freeze-thaw stress rather than degrading like asphalt or wood shingles. With about 66 freeze-thaw days per year in Nassau County and 63 cm of seasonal snow, your roof experiences this cycle constantly, yet roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) resists the expansion-contraction cracking that splits asphalt and wood. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, maintains its seal through those stress cycles, protecting the oxide layer beneath. Homeowners here see decades of performance where asphalt would fail in 15–20 years.

How does an Interlock metal roof perform under Nassau County's winter snow load?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together under snow weight, distributing the load evenly without sagging or separating—critical when you're receiving about 63 cm of snow annually plus freeze cycles. The standing-seam and shake profiles direct meltwater outward, reducing ice dam formation at the eaves. At 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, the roof itself adds negligible weight to your structure compared to the snow load, so existing framing rarely needs reinforcement. Snow guards can be added during installation if you prefer controlled shedding, and the smooth aluminum surface allows snow to slide harmlessly rather than trap moisture and freeze into ice that damages asphalt.

Will heavy rain leak through a metal roof?

No—Munsey Park receives about 1251 mm of rain annually, and Interlock panels shed water by design. The four-way interlocking edge system creates a continuous labyrinth seal; water cannot move laterally across the roof surface. When installed to spec with solid decking and underlayment over existing framing, rain flows down and off the panels into gutters, exactly as it does with asphalt shingles. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for IBC/IRC) verifies this performance. What differs: metal roofs don't absorb water, so there's no saturation, rot, or delayed leaks from trapped moisture—the common failure mode that gives asphalt a 15–20 year lifespan.

Can a metal roof withstand Munsey Park's wind gusts?

Yes—Interlock roofs are warranted to resist sustained winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec, and Munsey Park's typical wind gusts average around 18 km/h with rare extreme gusts to 135 km/h. The four-way interlocking panel system locks each sheet to its neighbors along all four edges, creating a unified structural diaphragm that distributes gust loads across the entire roof plane rather than concentrating stress on individual fasteners. This is superior to shingle roofs, where wind can slip under overlapped edges and lift them. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms this performance for IBC/IRC compliance, and homeowners here see no wind damage when installed by Interlock Roofing of America, who has served the region since 2014.

Does hail damage a metal roof, and can I save on insurance?

Interlock's aluminum panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and are warranted against perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is rare and often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts of 10–20% depending on your carrier. Nassau County's thunderstorm season brings hail risk, and where asphalt shingles suffer dents and granule loss in moderate hail, aluminum either avoids damage or sustains only cosmetic marks that do not compromise the roof's weather integrity. The Guardian warranty covers impact damage, and many insurers recognize the durability and lower claim frequency, making this a tangible financial offset to the upfront cost. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating to confirm discount eligibility.

What does Interlock's warranty actually cover over time?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—meaning no annual decrease in coverage. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance at no charge for your ownership. When you sell the home, that warranty becomes one-time transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion date, adding significant resale value. Combined with roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and 30-year coating protection, homeowners typically see 40–50+ years of leak-free service. That transforms the economics: while asphalt shingles last 15–20 years in climates like yours with 63 cm snow, 66 freeze-thaw days, and 1251 mm rain annually, Interlock eliminates the cycle of tear-offs and reinstalls, making it the last roof you buy.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof need?

Minimal compared to asphalt, wood, or tile. Asphalt shingles require inspection every 2–3 years, granule replacement, algae treatment, and moss removal—especially in humid climates receiving 1251 mm rain annually. Wood shakes split and rot in freeze-thaw cycles (66 per year in Nassau County). Concrete tile cracks and leaks. Interlock aluminum simply sheds water and debris; you hose it clean once yearly if needed, keep gutters clear, and that's it. The CALGreen-verified design reduces maintenance burden, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists algae and mold growth, staying clean longer. The Guardian Warranty covers rusting, rot, splitting, and cracking—conditions that drive asphalt maintenance costs. Over 40 years, the time and money saved on repairs and retreatment far outweigh the initial investment.

Will an Interlock roof reduce my summer cooling costs?

energy-efficient Interlock colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, lowering roof-surface temperature and reducing cooling load. Nassau County's 3115 sunshine hours per year make this meaningful—reflective roofs can cut air-conditioning runtime by 10–15% in warm months. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms performance. Because aluminum itself conducts heat efficiently and your attic ventilation works with (not against) a cool surface, conditioned air stays where it belongs indoors. While Munsey Park's mean temperature is a cool 12.1°C, extended spring and fall seasons and summer peaks make reflective roofing worthwhile. The energy savings compound over decades, offsetting the upfront cost and reducing your carbon footprint—another reason this roof pays for itself over its 40+ year life.

Can you install an Interlock roof over my existing shingles?

Yes, and this is a major advantage. Because Interlock panels weigh only 0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—most existing roof structures can support them without reinforcement. The installation process involves removing existing flashing and gutter components, adding new underlayment and base trim to the existing deck, then interlocking the aluminum panels row by row. This method avoids a costly tear-off and landfill disposal. Interlock Roofing of America, serving Nassau County since 2014, handles site assessment, permitting, and installation to ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance. The timeline is typically 3–5 days for a residential home. This retrofit approach keeps labor and waste costs down while upgrading your roof to 40+ year durability in a climate with 1251 mm annual rainfall and repeated freeze-thaw stress that wears asphalt in 15–20 years.

Is an Interlock metal roof better for the environment than asphalt?

Yes—aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles end in landfills. Munsey Park homeowners who replace asphalt every 15–20 years generate tons of waste per tear-off; an Interlock roof lasts 40+ years and, when eventually removed, becomes scrap aluminum worth money rather than trash. Manufacturing roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) uses recycled input (up to 95% recycled content available), further reducing embodied energy compared to virgin material. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is also durable—30-year warranty means no recoating cycles and no chemical disposal. Over its lifetime, one Interlock roof eliminates 2–3 asphalt tear-offs and their associated trucking, landfill methane, and habitat disruption. It's the CALGreen-verified, measurably lower-impact choice for homeowners who want durability and environmental responsibility in one decision.
