Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Great Neck

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Great Neck, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Great Neck.

Why does freeze-thaw cycling matter for roofing in Great Neck?

Great Neck experiences about 66 freeze-thaw cycles per year, which cracks asphalt and wood shingles as water expands inside the material. Aluminum roofing's oxide layer self-heals when scratched, and the metal itself contains no iron and cannot absorb water, so it remains unaffected by repeated freezing and thawing. This resistance is why Interlock's roofing has been installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations without material failure from thermal cycling.

How does metal roofing handle snow and ice buildup in our climate?

With about 63 cm of snow annually and wind gusts reaching 135 km/h, a smooth metal surface sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt, reducing ice dam formation and the weight load on your frame. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist 120 mph winds when installed to spec, so heavy snow combined with gale-force gusts will not compromise the seal. Many homeowners add optional snow guards to control slide-off; the aluminum's light weight (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) keeps total roof load manageable even with snow retention.

Can a metal roof rust? What about salt air or moisture from snow melt?

No. Interlock roofing uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), which contains no iron and cannot rust. The material forms a self-healing oxide layer; when scratched or weathered, it naturally seals itself. A 30-year Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel, providing additional corrosion resistance—especially valuable near coastal salt air or where seasonal snow melt introduces moisture. This dual protection is why the Guardian Warranty covers rusting for the original owner's lifetime.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for metal roofing?

No structural reinforcement is required. Interlock's aluminum Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, installing at only 0.59 lb/sq ft. Because the panels are so light, they typically install directly over your existing roof without upgrading joists or trusses. This also means retrofitting older homes is economical. Compared to traditional roofing materials, aluminum's negligible weight eliminates the hidden cost of structural engineering.

Will heavy rain leak through metal roofing panels?

No. Great Neck receives about 1251 mm of rainfall annually, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed water without pooling. The stepped, overlapping design creates a drainage path even during the heaviest downpours. Installation over solid decking with proper underlayment ensures water drains to gutters, just as it does with asphalt. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms code compliance for water infiltration resistance in residential applications.

Can metal roofing reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, reflecting heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt does. In a climate with about 3115 sunshine hours annually, this reflectance reduces peak attic temperature and lowers air conditioning demand, particularly on south- and west-facing roofs. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating quantifies this benefit. Over a 30-plus-year lifespan, energy savings can offset a significant portion of the roof's cost.

Is metal roofing durable against hail? Will my insurance premium drop?

Yes to durability. Interlock is rated UL 2218 Class 4 impact—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Because aluminum does not dent permanently and sheds ice effectively, hail risk is substantially lower than asphalt or wood. Many insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4-rated roofing; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 designation to explore savings that may accelerate your payback timeline.

How does metal roofing perform in high winds like Great Neck's winter gusts?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. Great Neck experiences typical gusts around 135 km/h during storms, which fall within that tolerance. The interlocking design distributes wind load across all four edges of every panel, preventing uplift even during severe weather. This engineering is verified under ICC-ES ESR-1790 and is a key reason the warranty covers wind damage.

Interlock metal roofing typically lasts 50-70 years or longer. The Guardian Warranty provides a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty to the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—not just manufacturing defects. If you sell, the warranty transfers once to the next owner for a full 50 years from completion, adding real resale value. This is the only roof you should ever need to buy, turning a major maintenance expense into a permanent asset.

How long will metal roofing actually last, and what does the warranty cover?

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Yes. Interlock aluminum roofing is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles end up in landfills. Over Great Neck's typical 50-year ownership cycle, you avoid multiple tear-off and disposal cycles. The material itself requires no preservatives or chemical coatings like wood, and energy-efficiency reflectance reduces cooling energy use over decades. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance and waste generation. Choosing aluminum breaks the asphalt-replacement-landfill cycle entirely.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Great Neck’s climate?

Yes. Great Neck averages about 63 cm of snow, 1251 mm of rain, roughly 66 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 135 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
