Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in South Hempstead

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in South Hempstead, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in South Hempstead.

Will a metal roof hold up through South Hempstead's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes — aluminum's non-porous structure actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions. Unlike asphalt or wood, which absorb water and crack when it expands, aluminum has zero permeability. South Hempstead averages about 58 freeze-thaw days per year with roughly 55 cm of snow, so seasonal moisture cycling is heavy here. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy used in Interlock panels maintains its flexibility across temperature swings, and the Alunar 70% PVDF coating (both sides, 30-year warranty) seals the panel against water infiltration before freezing ever starts. You're protected from the inside and outside.

How does Interlock Metal Roofing handle heavy snow and ice dams?

The four-way interlocking panel design sheds snow and ice reliably because the seams are mechanically locked, not glued or fastened at the edge — water moves down the profile without pooling. South Hempstead receives about 55 cm of snow annually, and the Mediterranean Tile, Shake, and Cedar Shingle profiles all shed precipitation faster than flat or low-slope surfaces. Optional snow guards can be specified to prevent avalanche-style slides in certain situations. The real advantage: because aluminum panels are about 96% lighter than traditional tile or slate, ice loads never strain your existing structure, and you won't need costly reinforcement — the roof installs directly over most existing framing.

Can a metal roof rust in a rainy climate like South Hempstead?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — that's the fundamental chemistry. Instead, when aluminum is exposed to air, a microscopic oxide layer forms and actually protects what's underneath. If that oxide scratches, it self-heals. For South Hempstead's climate (about 1214 mm of rain yearly), this is critical: steel roofing rusts in salt-air and wet conditions, but roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) stays structurally sound. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides of every panel adds another 30-year barrier against corrosion. After 26 years of installations from coastal salt-air homes to polar research stations, corrosion has never been a warranty claim.

Is a metal roof secure in South Hempstead's wind gusts?

Completely. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification — well above Nassau County's typical gust peaks around 136 km/h (roughly 85 mph). The four-way interlocking design means each panel locks mechanically on all four edges to its neighbors, creating a unified system rather than individual shingles that can lift or peel. Local winds average about 22 km/h with occasional stronger systems, but the real test comes in nor'easters. The interlocking architecture distributes wind load across the entire roof plane, so a 120 mph warranty gives you substantial safety margin for the weather South Hempstead actually experiences.

What's the hail rating on Interlock Metal Roofing, and does it matter for insurance?

Interlock panels carry UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That's significant because many homeowners' policies offer discounts for Class 4 roofing. Check with your carrier, but several major insurers recognize the aluminum impact resistance and lower claim history. The rating means the roof has been drop-tested with 2-inch steel balls falling from significant heights and survived. While South Hempstead's climate data doesn't show frequent hail events, ice, wind-driven debris, and falling branches all register similarly in impact tests — so that Class 4 rating protects you from multiple weather scenarios, not just hail.

Will an Interlock Metal Roof reduce my cooling costs?

energy-efficient Interlock colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (like Aged Copper Penny) reflect heat that asphalt absorbs. South Hempstead gets about 3193 sunshine hours per year, so peak summer gains matter. Lighter colors and reflective finishes reduce the temperature delta between roof surface and attic space, lowering HVAC cycling. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable energy performance. On a 12.5°C mean annual temperature with summer peaks, that reflectance advantage compounds over time. You'll see the biggest payoff in June through August, but the coating also maintains its solar reflectance for 30 years (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured), so the energy benefit doesn't degrade like asphalt.

What's the real lifetime warranty on an Interlock Metal Roof?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner — covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That means if a covered defect appears at year 2 or year 40, you get the same repair or replacement with no prorating. It transfers once to the next owner with a 50-year term from completion date, which adds measurable resale appeal. Non-prorated matters: asphalt warranties begin prorating sharply after year 5 or 10, so you're paying more out-of-pocket as the roof ages. Aluminum doesn't degrade like organic materials, so a non-prorated structure makes sense. In South Hempstead's variable climate (58 freeze-thaw days, 55 cm snow, 1214 mm rain), that durability promise carries real weight.

Is an Interlock Metal Roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?

Asphalt shingles need replacement every 15–20 years in climates like South Hempstead, where freeze-thaw cycling (about 58 days per year) and consistent moisture (1214 mm rain) accelerate degradation. A metal roof installed today will outlast 2–3 asphalt roof cycles. Factor in tear-off labor, dumpster fees, and disposal costs each time, and the total cost of ownership favors aluminum over 40+ years. You also skip the roof-inspection and maintenance expenses every 5 years. The Guardian Warranty's non-prorated coverage means no surprise major repairs in year 15 or 25. While the initial material and labor cost is higher, the last roof you buy is typically cheaper than the first and second roofs combined over a 50-year span.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Essentially none beyond occasional gutter cleaning and inspection after severe weather. Interlock aluminum panels don't degrade, rot, split, or curl like asphalt, wood shakes, or tile. You won't need to power-wash, seal, or restain. Asphalt roofs typically need inspection every 2–3 years in South Hempstead's variable climate (with 58 freeze-thaw cycles per year, moisture is constant), and wood shakes require treatment every 5–7 years. Traditional tile needs broken-piece replacement and mortar re-pointing. CALGreen-verified Interlock panels reduce maintenance to zero in most cases. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is rated 30 years against fading and chalking, so the roof maintains its finish without intervention. That's a major cost and time advantage over a 40+ year lifespan.

Who installs Interlock Metal Roofing in South Hempstead?

Interlock Roofing of America has been serving Nassau County and the South Hempstead area since 2014, so they understand local building codes, weather patterns, and insurance requirements specific to this region. They handle the full installation process over existing roofs (since aluminum's light weight — the Shingle profile installs at about 0.41 lb/sq ft — requires no structural reinforcement), manage township permits, and coordinate with your insurer on any hail or weather-related coverage. With over a decade of local experience, they know how to spec snow guards for South Hempstead's 55 cm annual snowfall, design drainage for 1214 mm of rain, and ensure wind fastening (120 mph warranty compliance) meets current ICC-ES ESR-1790 code. They're your point of contact for warranty support and any future service needs.

Is a metal roof a good choice for South Hempstead’s climate?

Yes. South Hempstead averages about 55 cm of snow, 1214 mm of rain, roughly 58 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 136 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
