Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Rockville Centre

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Rockville Centre, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Rockville Centre.

Will a metal roof handle Rockville Centre's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes — aluminum's structure actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions. Your area experiences about 58 freeze-thaw days per year, where moisture and temperature swings would crack asphalt, warp wood, or split concrete tile. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without degradation; the oxide layer on the 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 alloy self-heals when scratched, so micro-fractures from cycling don't propagate into leaks. Steel roofs rust when that oxide layer fails in wet cold. Aluminum never rusts, period — there's no iron in the material to oxidize. You're looking at a roof that gets tougher with age in your climate.

How does an Interlock metal roof perform with the snow and ice buildup we get here?

Rockville Centre averages about 55 centimeters of snow annually, and the smooth, interlocking profile sheds snow far more readily than asphalt. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together so tightly that ice dams can't find a path to seep underneath — water runs cleanly to the gutter. Unlike cedar shake or tile, which trap moisture in freeze-thaw conditions, the Slate or Cedar Shingle profile offers architectural texture without the water-trapping pockets. Snow guards are available if you need to control slide-off over walkways. The warranty explicitly covers snow load on the engineered panels, so you're protected whether the snow stays or goes.

Can this roof handle the winter gusts we see on Long Island?

Rockville Centre experiences typical daily-max winds around 22 km/h with gusts reaching 136 km/h — typical for Nassau County's coastal and near-coastal zones. Interlock panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, and the four-way interlocking system means uplift forces at panel edges are distributed across four seams instead of bearing down on fasteners alone. That's Class 4 durability engineered into the geometry. Unlike asphalt, which can peel or tear, or traditional tile, which individual pieces can crack under wind stress, aluminum panels flex and lock — they move as one system. Your local Interlock Roofing of America team has been installing these roofs in this region since 2014 and understands Nassau County wind patterns.

Is there a hail rating, and could this roof lower my homeowner's insurance?

Interlock metal roofing carries the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That Class 4 rating means the aluminum panels absorb hail impact without cracking or losing integrity the way asphalt, tile, or wood would. Many insurers offer discounts on premiums when you install a Class 4 roof; you'll want to contact your agent with the UL 2218 listing number (33876) and show them the Intertek certification. The non-combustible aluminum also qualifies for fire-loss discounts in some policies. Document the installation date and keep your Guardian Warranty paperwork handy — it's the proof insurers want.

Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust like some metal roofs do?

Steel rusts because it contains iron, which oxidizes and flakes away when exposed to moisture and oxygen. Interlock roofs are made from roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy — zero iron content. When aluminum exposed to air, a microscopically thin oxide layer forms instantly and seals the surface; if you scratch it, the oxide rebuilds automatically. With annual rainfall around 1214 mm in your area, rust-susceptible metals would fail within a decade. Aluminum simply doesn't corrode, no matter how wet the climate. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides adds an extra barrier against salt air and UV, warranted for 30 years, but even if that finish wore away, the aluminum underneath would remain stable indefinitely.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No — aluminum's light weight eliminates that expense. The Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates the look of clay tile that weighs 10–15 pounds per square foot, installs at just 0.59 pounds per square foot — about 96% lighter than concrete or clay. Even the heavier Shake profile comes in at 0.58 lb/sq ft. Your roof framing was engineered for asphalt (about 3–4 lb/sq ft), so aluminum is a net reduction in load; Interlock installs over most existing roofs without structural modification. This also means faster installation and lower labor costs. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms that no additional bracing or reinforcement is required when installed per code, saving you thousands of dollars compared to traditional tile.

Will a metal roof help with cooling costs in summer?

Yes — the right color significantly reduces how much solar heat your roof absorbs. Interlock offers energy-efficient colors with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance as high as 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile). Those numbers mean the roof bounces back infrared radiation that asphalt absorbs and converts to attic heat. Rockville Centre gets about 3193 hours of sunshine per year; over a season, that reflectance difference keeps your cooling system from working as hard. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating verifies the performance. Lighter-colored profiles — Slate in light finishes, for instance — perform even better. While you won't see a 30% cooling savings, a well-chosen Interlock color can reduce summer air-conditioning load by 10–15%, especially on south- and west-facing roofs.

What maintenance does an aluminum metal roof actually need?

Far less than asphalt, cedar, or tile. Asphalt requires moss cleaning, algae treatment, and annual inspections; cedar splits and curls and needs sealing; tile cracks and traps moisture. Aluminum doesn't split, curl, rot, or host algae the way organic materials do. Twice yearly, flush debris from gutters and check fasteners if your property is near trees — that's it. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, and the 30-year coating warranty means no recoating is needed. With annual rainfall around 1214 mm and about 58 freeze-thaw days, your roof cleans itself through rain runoff while resisting the moisture and freeze-thaw cycling that degrades traditional materials. You'll spend less time on maintenance than you would on an asphalt roof — and the panels won't require replacement in your lifetime.

What's the warranty, and how long will this roof actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner — covering rust, rot, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. If you sell the home, the next owner gets a 50-year transferable term. That's backed by 25+ years of real-world performance: Interlock has been manufacturing these roofs in Delta, BC since 1998, installed on everything from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations. The aluminum substrate doesn't degrade; the coating carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured). Realistically, an Interlock roof will outlast your mortgage, the next owner's mortgage, and still be protecting the house. You're buying the last roof you'll ever need.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Rockville Centre, and how long have they been doing this?

Interlock Roofing of America serves your area and has been installing Interlock metal roofing throughout the region since 2014 — a decade of experience with Nassau County's specific wind, snow, salt air, and freeze-thaw patterns. They understand local building code (ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation is current through 2025), know which profiles and colors perform best for your neighborhood's sun exposure, and can guide you through the installation timeline — typically 2–5 days depending on roof size. They'll handle permitting, coordinate with your municipality, and stand behind their work. Ask them about neighbors' roofs they've installed; word-of-mouth is strong in Rockville Centre for contractors who've been in the community that long. A local installer also means faster service calls if you ever need them, though warranty coverage is backed by Interlock's Guardian program nationwide.
